  1. I think it varies by doctor. My doctor said it's fine in moderation. I've found though that the best OTC pain med for me is Tylenol Arthritis Pain. It's stronger than plain Tylenol and it really does the trick for me.
  2. It was my first. They added 1 cc and I had 3cc's from surgery so I'm at 4 now. I'm doing good though. I can still eat bread and really anything I want but I am satisfied and full eating less of it. I've even lost another pound. I know I'm not at my sweet spot but it definitely seems like my appetite is decreasing:)
  3. I would definitely do it again! I think it's totally worth it and so far I'm very pleased with my results.
  4. Since I've started back on solid foods I'm not having any problems eating at all. I can still eat bread even. But so far it seems that I'm eating a bit less and I'm not as hungry between meals. So my question is is that all in my head or did my fill really do something for me? I got 1 cc and I had 3 cc's from surgery so I have 4 cc's total now. What do you think? I'm even at an all time low with my weight:) I'm down a pound:)
  5. I'm sorry:( Hopefully the doc can get it on the first try. I will say though my surgeon said that the first time it can take a while to find it. He said after that he normally has no problem.
  6. I would call your doc this morning. Especially with the weekend coming up. It sounds like you need an unfill even if it's just a small one.
  7. Well I had my first fill on Tuesday. I already had 3 cc's from surgery and the doc added 1 more so I have 4cc's now. I haven't really noticed a difference. I can still eat just fine and take all my meds with no problems. I'm eating less but I'm not sure if that's the band or if I'm just not as hungry the past few days. I went back to liquids for 2 days and I always seem to be less hungry after coming off liquids. Not sure why but I just am.
  8. That's not mean I'm thinking of doing the same thing:) Dh likes grilled skin on chicken breast, or deep fried chicken. He will occasionally eat shake and bake but very, very occasionally. He likes bone in ribs and pork chops deep fried or grilled. He doesn't like them baked at all. Are you seeing a trend here? LOL I have a great recipe for a rotisserie chicken. I love it and you know what? He hates it:( He also likes Chuck Roast with gravy. Basically everything has to be grilled, fried or covered in gravy and I'm not into grilling right now b/c I don't have the time to. You know what's worse? Most of the time he doesn't even eat supper until 9 pm. I'm ready to cook and eat by 7 at the latest so I feel like I'm cooking to cater to him and then he's not even eating it until it's cold. It's aggravating all the way around.
  9. That is why I have such mixed feelings about the show. The kids need help but this just seems drastic and highly expensive. I still watch it though b/c I'm curious about there methods and rather or not they really work.
  10. I prefer Syntrax Nectar protein. It tastes really good without that nasty protein powder aftertaste.
  11. I'm back on solids today and I'm not having any problems eating. I'm just trying to rely on my will power and stay below 1200 calories. SO far it's 1 pm and I just had lunch. I'm doing good right now.
  12. I had the same problem. I was allergic to the Dermabond. I peeled it all off. Washed the sites good and then doctored with them Benadryl cream and took Benadryl at bed time. They were better within 2 days. I was 5 days out when I removed the Dermabond and my surgeon said it was fine.
  13. You really should watch the show. It's sort of like the Biggest Loser except for kids and it has a HUGE price tag on it. The kids even cry b/c they are homesick and just want to go home.
  14. Congratulations!!! That's a HUGE NSV! Have fun shopping:)
  15. Congrats! Definitely time to clean out the closet!!
  16. The biggest loser thread got me to thinking about this. I've been watching this show for several weeks now and I can't decide if it's good or bad. This "camp" takes overweight kids and teaches them how to lose weight. They stay at the camp and if they follow all the rules they get a small allotted time where they can call their parents once a week. They get no more than 20 grams of fat per day and they do all their school work and get a lot of exercise while at the camp. From what was said on the show it must be very expensive b/c one man said he cleared out his 401K to pay for it. These kids do need help but IDK sometimes this seems extreme to me. One set of parents each got a Lap Band and then sent their child to this camp to lose weight. That really got me thinking. If your child is that overweight why not struggle through it with them and do what they have to do to lose weight rather than get a Lap Band? The mom said well his dad and I got a Lap Band and now we are successful in losing weight and that makes our child feel even worse about his own weight. So what are your thoughts? Have you seen this show? Too Fat for Fifteen: Fighting Back - mystyle.com Edited to add: According to the site it's $26,000 for 4 months!!
  17. How do you warm them without the protein curdling up?
  18. I was able to have coffee with splenda and Coffee Mate after surgery. As for cooking I quit cooking and gave that job to my dh for a while. He totally understood.
  19. I agree. I hope it doesn't turn into a WLS bashing show.
  20. We're in the south and dh was raised on a farm so he's a fried meat and potatoes kind of guy. I totally hate that. The only meat he will eat that isn't fried is grilled on the charcoal grill. I'm happy with a chicken breast on my George Foreman grill. Anyway that's why I'm asking what you guys eat. I need to find an easy compromise for all of us.
  21. Well I can currently eat all those foods but I don't. It's not a big deal really. I'd rather lose the weight than to be able to eat pizza and bread you know? I figure all diets make you give up something and all those diets never worked for me. At least with the band it will work and all I have to do is eat right and give up things like fried foods, breads and sodas. I'm fine with that:)
  22. My band is like yours and holds 10CC's. I have a friend who told me she's at like 9 cc's in a 15 cc band. That sort of scared me. It made me wonder if a 10CC band will really do the trick but then she was a lot bigger than me to start with so maybe that's why she got a bigger band?
  23. I currently have 4 cc's and since I can still swallow pills with no problem I guess I don't have restriction yet. I'm hoping I get some with my next fill but I know everyone is different on this.
  24. She was the only one I noticed the scars on too. As soon as I saw them I thought she must be banded. I can't wait to see how the season turns out.
  25. I agree. I wish I had done it much sooner!
