  1. Do you ladies still get insane cravings and have an increase in appetite around that time?
  2. Autoimmune means your body turns on it's self. I wouldn't think a band would cause that. It may just be a coincidence that symptoms started around the same time. I know a lady who is 50 and has had Scleroderma and Lupus since her 20's. She is still fine and still working full time.
  3. Good Luck girl!! I wouldn't worry too much about the headache. All the meds they give you to knock you out should take care of it.
  4. I love that soup but I make it with 93/7 lean ground beef. We just don't like ground turkey. My dh hates ranch dressing but he LOVES this soup! I made it once on a camping trip. There were 4 couples and we picked a night for each of us to cook. I did this soup and they all LOVED it. There was none leftover.
  5. Good luck girl! I hope he gets it on the first stick.
  6. For me it stopped being a diet last week after my first fill. My first fill brought me to 4cc's total and now I can get full on a cup of food and I stay full until my next meal. Just hang there. It's so worth it! I'm amazed at how well my band is working for me:)
  7. It's an amazing feeling!! I still can't believe it:) I'm so happy with my band:) Barneygirl- WW online won't give you materials. I would recommend you buy an at home kit through WW or you can sometimes find them on Ebay cheaper.
  8. Yes I have had reflux issues in the past. Tomorrow I'll pick up some Prevacid OTC and try that. Hopefully that will work b/c right now I'm happy with my band. I think it's in the perfect spot for now.
  9. Also I should add I'm not throwing up at all or having any problems keeping my food down. Just the occasional heartburn.
  10. Okay last Tuesday I had a 1 cc fill. I already had 3 cc's so I now have 4 cc's. The first two days I was on liquids. I was STARVING! I had a bad headache and I took 2 Tylenol- they went down with no problem. Then Wednesday night at bedtime I had heartburn it was mild nothing severe. Friday I ate a piece of a roll and a sip of Water and I had heartburn. I took something for it and it went away. Then today I had 2 cups of coffee no problem. Then at lunch I ate some stew. I had 1 piece of a stewed tomato in mine and I got severe heartburn from that. Now I can eat anything I want with no problems. Dry meat, bread, nuts no issues there. I just want to make sure that my heartburn is not from my band being too tight. I don't have heartburn every day or even at night/bedtime. No coughing either and I did have Acid Reflux before getting banded. I'm currently not hungry, get full on a cup of food and I've lost 3 pounds since Tuesday. So is it a band problem you think or just my normal heartburn? I just want to make sure I'm doing everything right.
  11. The policy I had excluded all my preexisting conditions and I had lots and it really only covered like major major medical. Like catastrophic stuff that would leave you in a huge bind otherwise. I still had to pay for most daily/routine care. I had it on my son also but it covered more for him b/c he had no health conditions. I'm just saying it might be worth it to call an independent insurance agent and see what they can do. Oh one thing though for me to get it I could not have a lapse in coverage. It started the day dh's policy dropped me and I had to provide proof of continuous coverage. Oh and I meant to add there are other companies besides Blue Cross that offer these policies.
  12. You do have a point there. I was told my band was empty and then found out that there was 3 cc's that was put in at surgery.
  13. She does have great tips! I absolutely LOVE Almond milk but I prefer the plain.
  14. My surgeon says it's okay. I drink it with Splenda and Coffee Mate sugar free creamer.
  15. Okay guys I was banded last month. I just got my first fill on Tuesday. I had 3 cc's in my band from surgery and the doc added 1 more. Since then I'm not as hungry and I get full on less. I'm wanting to lose as much as possible by Thanksgiving so I pulled out my WW materials and started tracking points again. I did WW for a year before and I lost 50 pounds. I just couldn't stick with it b/c I was hungry all the time. Here's the thing though, I get 26 points a day right? Used to I would eat that amount and lose on it but now I can't even eat that. Today for example I had 16 points. I'm a little hungry right now but not much and it's almost bed time. Should I be trying to eat more or more calorie rich foods or what? This is odd for me but in a good way:) I spent so long struggling trying to eat under or at my daily points limit and I was always starving or going over. I can't believe how little I eat now:) I'm so psyched!!
  16. congratulations!! You're doing awesome!!
  17. I'll have to check Amazon. My surgeon doesn't have anything like that and I do think it would really be helpful for me.
  18. Is there a book or something I can buy that lists Protein counts of different foods? Like how many grams are in 1 oz of pork, chicken, etc. Are how many grams in egg whites vs. whole eggs?
  19. You can get a policy that will only cover hospitalizations/major illnesses for a lot less than that. I had one once through Blue Cross. It didn't cover doctor visits or prescriptions it was just a major medical policy. I had $1K deductible and then 80/20. It was around $100 a month.
  20. Okay from what I read after I Googled this she previously had Lap Band surgery and regained then weight. THen lost it again with Jenny Craig.
  21. How do you know that? Do you have a link to an article or something? She does look good now but I was wondering if that's really how she lost it.
  22. I wonder the same thing. I wonder if this will last all the way to my next fill in 4 weeks.
  23. How much have you lost since your first fill? I'm so psyched about this whole thing! I definitely feel like I'm going to succeed at losing weight this time:)
  24. Yep 26K for 4 months. I'm not sure when it comes on. I have my DVR set to record it. At some point they EARN the privilege to go home for the weekend. They are weighed when they get back to see how they did with their food choices.
