  1. Good Luck! I'm sure everything will go great.
  2. Thank you ladies. Congrats TimandMich!! I hope everything goes smooth for you!
  3. So what about going to the bathroom? I mean is hard to get them down and back up again?
  4. How comfy are they anyway? I've been thinking about buying some but there aren't any stores here that sell them. Do they feel like they are suffocating you or what??
  5. I've been thinking about trying that but the shipping to my area for one container is almost $12.00! I wish there were a cheaper option:(
  6. okay my doc says no drinking 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal. Here's my question.... If I wait 30 minutes afterwards and then I drink a 20 oz bottle of Water isn't that still just going to wash the food out of my pouch? or is that why we are supposed to take tiny sips? I was also told to take only tiny sips through out the day. Never large drinks or gulps of anything. I guess my thing is if my pouch is about the size of an egg then it won't take much Fluid to fill that up right? So once it's full of fluid then the food is just washed right through. Correct?
  7. First what's your favorite unflavored Protein? How do you add it to food so that it's not a curdled up chunky mess? I wouldn't mind adding to things if I could get it to mix up smoothly in my food.
  8. Don't do surgery yet. You definitely need a U/S or xray. That should find it.
  9. Okay guys I lost my grandpa yesterday. He had an unexpected fatal stroke:( I will be surrounded by food for the next 3-4 days. So far I'm doing good though and not taking it out on food. I'm just keeping myself busy instead.
  10. Okay here's the deal. My insurance company only allows a 90 day filing time. As of today they have not received the claim for the additional $60K. They said they will pay it at 100% of the negotiated fee IF they receive it in the next 30 days. If they don't get it in the next 30 days then the hospital has to write it off and they aren't allowed to collect it from me. Either way I'm not responsible. Whew! But man the prices are outrageous! I had a hysterectomy at the same hospital last month and stayed as an inpatient and it was only $30K total.
  11. I do have an itemized bill now and everything is correct is just that they are billing an arm and a leg for every item. They billed 9K for the OR. 4K for the recovery room. $2400 for an anchor/screw, $33,407 for the band itself, $5100 for the scalpel, $3400 for an endoscopic suture device? It's just outrageous amounts. I had a family emergency yesterday so I didn't get to call my insurance but I will be calling them today. Legally the hospital CAN'T bill me b/c they are contracted with my insurance. They billed me first for these charges and didn't submit them to my insurance. I'm sure my insurance company will put an end to it today.
  12. Well I got a full medical release yesterday after having a hysterectomy last month. Now it's back to exercising for me! I think I really need it b/c I'm starting to lose my restriction now:(
  13. Hmm It was super for about 2 1/2 weeks. I just have to make it till Tuesday and then I'll get more.
  14. Thank you for that link! I just didn't think I would lose restriction so quickly! I've lost almost 10 pounds since my last fill.
  15. I hope you feel better soon! Sounds like an infection or kidney stone.
  16. It does to me also. The thing is they will do it for $12500 CASH and that includes the hospital, surgeon and anesthesia part. They split that 3 ways.
  17. I got my first fill a few weeks ago. I was doing great. I was getting full on a cup of food 3 times a day. Now the past few days I'm starving and I can eat way more than a cup and don't feel anywhere near full. My next fill is next week. Is this normal?
  18. They already billed my insurance $15K. My insurance paid $11K and wrote off the rest. Now the hospital is billing an additional $60K in charges. They said they actually charge $75K TOTAL for Lap Band surgery. They get $33K just for the band! I think that's ridiculous! They billed me for it b/c they tried to bill my insurance and my insurance denied their claim and said I was not responsible. Now I'll have to call my insurance tomorrow. I'm not worried about it. I know my insurance will either pay it or force them to write it off but that's an astronomical amount. Those of you that had insurance pay for your band how much was the total hospital claim?
  19. I have a head cold and I've had indigestion for the last 2 days now. Seriously. I'm never hungry and I just feel so yuck! Any ideas on getting rid of the indigestion?
  20. I thought that too but it was GREAT! They talked about their weight and clothing sizes openly and honestly. No one cared if you said you were 400 pounds or 200 pounds. They are all there for the same reason. At my meetings they also do a clothing exchange while your there. Basically all the Lap Band patients bring in there old clothes that don't fit anymore and if you see anything you want it's yours. Just return it when it's too big. I'm very nervous around new people. Especially a big group like that but I was totally comfortable within 15 minutes.
  21. You know what else is helpful? I buy pants a little tight then when I wash and dry them I air dry them or use delicate/low heat. Then when they start getting too loose I begin drying them on high heat. It shrinks em up enough to make em fit better for a while longer:)
  22. I love 5 Hour Energy! I have some in my cabinet right now. A friend of mine swears by Advocare's Spark energy drink but I've never tried it.
  23. How much is in your band right now?
