  1. I got 4.5 with my first fill 2 weeks ago..and it is definitely plenty for now. I havent heard of anyone getting 7 at their first...and really i havent heard of many having much moer than that altogether in a 10 cc band,. But...everyone is different.
  2. THank you All for your responses!!! I like to have some feedback ...i know all Dr.s are differnt. until i had this first fill...i was going on sheer willpower and it was very hard..but once i had the feel...it was awesome. Im still ok...but hoping the restriction stays. Good luck to you all!!!
  3. Hi ! I am now almost 6 weeks post op and feeling great. Once i had my first fill..things started moving quickly. i love my band and am so happy i made this decision. I know there are going to be slow months and bumps in the road...and its not magic. My question is...how much did you get for your first fill..and how much do you have presently. Is it your sweet spot. My first fill was 4.5 cc and i think its great. Restriction is awesome even tho doc says it will loosen and i will probably need more to get to my sweet spot! Thanks for any advice :blushing: :w00t:
  4. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CongratS!!!!!!! I am sooo proud of you. I just love this site...the motivation and success of others pushes me to do the best I can. I am only a week post op but hope I can do half as well as you!! Gosh...thats just amazing!!))
  5. Hi Im 8 days post op and doing fabulously. I feel awesome and and ready to work at this and get this weight off. My Dr. does not do a fill until the 4th week post op as I have no fluid in my band at all. I went for my week post op appt. today and he told me that I may not lose any more weight until I have a fill? I was like whhhhaatttt?? Im curious to know if this is always the case and why? And why he said this...I am staying low card high protein and starting on mushies.
  6. Yes she was being rude! She was talking to her like she was 5 yrs old. Yes that is a good thread i agree...but the girl wasnt bitching. She was asking for help and advice...which is what these forums are for. Good lord people.
  7. Congrats on your success!!!! I am just now 5 days post op am sooo excited to start this journey!!! I cant wait till I can say I am a year out and to see the results! Keep up the good work
  8. thanks both of you!! I love this site...because everyone always has an answer to the weirdest questions!!!! Im sure its ok...just feels so weird...but i guess it takes some getting used to. I mean afterall i do have something implanted in my body
  9. Hey all! First of all i am super excited to say i am an offical bandster!!!! I was banded OCt. 5th and feel really good. I have had a fairly easy recovery compared to some i guess. My question is...my port is obviously sore and tender as it should be.. but sometimes when i move a certain way..it feels liks something is popping or shifting in my side. It kinda freaks me out a little...so im trying to be careful. Im sure this is normal..but I would love some feedback if anyone has a clue as to what i am talking about Thanks
  10. Thank you all! This is so much very worth all of the pain and soreness!!!! I am only day 2 post op...but i know it will get better. I just look forward to excercising and using the band to get to a healthier new me ...that i have never known.. congrats to all who have been banded and you success so far and to those who are still on the journey to surgery!! Good luck and thanks for the comments! YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!
  11. im day 2 post op...and feel the gas in my ribcage...cant really breathe deeply. I have had no BM either...and dont think i could. good luck
  12. Hi all...I am now officially on day 2 of my post op and can now have protein shakes and cream soups. ( But i have no desire to eat at all) My port site has been the most painful of anything..getting up and down etc. But truthfully I feel better by the hour. I think i might even take a slow walk today and enjoy being outside. I Do have one question for you all. i love this site...I really do..but does anyone else get so tired of all the NEGATIVITY?? I mean it just gets to me. Yeah I think we all worry that we will be the one that the band wont work for...and taht we will be slow losers..etc. But thats the chance we take. I will not complain and whine about my band because I am soooo thankful to have it and to be given the chance to finally be who i want to be. Not to say that i wont have questions and some hard times. But I like to remain positive abou things. Maybe I feel good because i am younger and fairly healthy...and I did my research and prepared for the worst.. Good luck to everyone!
  13. Congrats to both of you guys on you surgeries! i had mine Tues the 5th and i am now on my first day post op. I am doing ok...not going to whine and complain...this will all be worth it. And so happy i am finally on the otherside of it all!!!! Good luck I hope you all do well!
  14. hey GIRL! I was also banded today...and my main issue is soreness of the port site..as sitting up...laying down...and going pee are the most difficult. Thankfully I have someone helping me with every move i make. Good luck to you..glad all went well..an so happy we are on the other side of this finally!!! WE ARE BANDSTERS!!!!!!
  15. Hey all!!! Well i am officially "A BANDSTER"!!!!! Sooo excited. Surgery went as good as could be expected today. I think i was so nervous about the anesthesia that I forgot to really think about the pain afterwards. IT is nothing unbearable...Im lucky that i dont have the shoulder pain that alot do. It isnt too bad at all because i had my husband move a recliner in my bedroom and it is where i shall sleep tonight...as i cannot lay in the bed. Getting up and down..to pee...etc...is very difficult (The port site) ...so im taking that very very slowly . Some gas soreness in under ribs...so cant breathe really deeply but its not that bad. I am so happy its over and so happy and so THANKFUL to be on the otherside of this finally. Such a trip to get this far ...and now the journey finally begins!!!! And I am ready for it!!!!!! Love all you guys!!!
