  1. I had bad gas pain for the first 3 days. Hours and hours using the heating pad is what helped me.
  2. Congratulations - I had my surgery 2 weeks ago and it is the best thing I have ever done. The start of my new life!
  3. I had the opposite effect. I was banded on 1/31/10 and I didn't go until day 5 post-op. Everything is fine now. My mind wants food, but my tummy gets full so fast on liquids. One day at a time.
  4. I was banded on 1/31/10 by Dr. Nazarian in San Dimas, CA. I was treated exceptionally well by the Dr. and the entire staff. Angie is my coordinator and she is the BEST! I definately recommend them.
  5. Oh Juliansmom - I want to thank you for the recipes. I am just 4 days post-op and have been struggling to gag down these protein shakes. I look forward to trying these meals in about a month.
  6. Might sound disgusting, but I burped a few times just now and that felt so much better. My surgery was at 6am this morning and I think I'm doing pretty darn good!
  7. My surgery was TODAY.....I am doing great except for the gas pain. Any suggestions to make it go away?
  8. I have to be on liquids for 2 weeks. Are you allowed eggs already?
  9. Oh geez - can anyone give me directions on how to get my ticker on my signature?
  10. I think I will try your idea with the Isopure. So far it's nasty. Feels like it leaves a coating on my teeth. Disgusting.
  11. The Iso-Pure gives me a gross feeling like something is coating my teeth. Am I weird or what?
  12. I will be the last of the January bandsters as my surgery is on Sunday 1/31. I am so excited. Can't wait to share my experience with all of you.
  13. I will be banded on Sunday 1/31 - so I am the last of the January bandsters. I am really excited and so glad to have found this forum. My doctor only required all liquids 2 days pre-op. This morning I had an Iso-Pure - YUCK. I'm hoping to find something that tastes better. Any suggestions?
  14. Oh no - my surgery is on the 31st and I have nails too.
  15. I went to the doctor this morning (yes on a Sunday) and we scheduled my surgery for next Sunday 1/31. I am really excited. Dr. told me that I should stay home for 3 days minimum.
  16. Wow - I need to be added to the January bandsters. Went to see my doctor this morning and I am now scheduled for January 31st!!!! Can't wait to start my journey with all of you.
  17. I have a desk job. About how long after surgery do you think I will be off work?
  18. What is the difference?
  19. I haven't picked a doctor yet, i'm researching several. I am hoping that since I will be self pay I can be scheduled soon and be on my journey will the rest of you. Other self-pays - how long did it take from your consultation to when you had your surgery?
  20. I'm new - what is PB? Or do I not want to know?
  21. Why is it that you can't have Diet Coke? My BMI is 34.5 and I am in the pre-planning phase right now. I will be scheduling my consultation tomorrow. I am 5'8" and 228 lbs. I have been struggling with weight for years and I am inching toward diabetes and need to get this under control once and for all.
  22. I am also in Southern California - who was your doctor? I am in "find a doctor phase". I am also self pay.
  23. I was wondering if any of you have a good recommendation for a Lap Band surgeon in Southern California? Also pricing information for cash pay?? I am ready to have the procedure now - just looking for a good place with a reasonable price.
