  1. IT SURE DOES WORK - Keep up the good work!
  2. I paid $14,000 on 1/31/10, but of course a year later they have a special now for $9900. This is in So. Cal They have offices in Beverly Hills and San Dimas. http://www.lapbandsurgeryprocedure.com/lap-band-cost.html
  3. Oh that's funny! Fortunately I am married to a wonderful man, but I too am still self-conscious about my body. I'm getting SmartLipo done on my arms on 5/7. I know exactly what you mean about deflated boobs. After the arms I'll be saving for that.
  4. Yes - for some reason the gas settles in the shoulder. I found the heating pad REALLY helped!
  5. I took pictures of my arm-wings front and back and sent them to (2) plastic surgeons and both said that I was a candidate for the laser treatment which also does skin tightening. If I knew how to insert a pic I would show you.
  6. I am getting Lipo done on my arms in 2 weeks. I am having it done in San Diego and the cost is $1800.
  7. I got to my sweet spot after fill #4. Now I need to figure out this "maintenance" phase. How do you eat more when you don't have any room?
  8. My last fill was 12/17/10. It was REALLY tight and almost went back to have a slight unfill, but I gave it time (about 3 weeks) and it settled down. Only (2) pounds to go! Then I need to figure out how to maintain???
  9. Don't give up....IT WORKS!
  10. Thanks - I will search the blogs. I feel truly blessed that the LapBand worked wonderfully for me. It's taken 14 months to lose 70 lbs. I went through plateaus but I remained patient and the weight kept coming off. PLUS my Type 2 diabetes is GONE. Today I went to Lane Bryant to buy bras. I can't fit in their clothes anymore, but love the bras. The sales lady actually called me "tiny". She used to help me when I was a size 16 (now I am an 8).
  11. Congrats - I remember that day! Very exciting.
  12. I am 4 lbs. away from my goal and I have no idea how to maintain when I get there and not continue losing. It is impossible for me to overeat, so eating more isn't an option. Any advice from anyone who has already reached their goal?
  13. I am over a year post-op and still haven't been able to eat steak or bread.
  14. I didn't have restriction until my 3rd fill so please be prepared. You can do it though - be strong - it gets much easier! PLUS the band DOES WORK! I've gone from a size 16 to an 8 now and I'm almost ready for a 6. BEST thing I have ever done for myself!
  15. Congrats - You look GREAT! What's MR?
  16. I got the LapBand. I have lost almost all of my weight - I can feel the port, but it doesn't stick out and isn't noticable at all. I plan on wearing a 2-piece bathing suit this summer with no worries. Get an experienced doctor and you will be fine.
  17. For my surgery I arrived at 5:30 am. - was wheeled into surgery around 7:00am and was driving home by 10:30am. I was amazed. I also had a great deal of gas pain. Lived on Gas X for days.
  18. Please be careful so you don't end up like me. I wasn't eating regularily (because I wasn't hungry at all) and one morning I woke up and walked into the kitchen, got dizzy and then completely passed on the tile kitchen floor. My hubby heard me fall. I ended up spending the day in the ER having CAT scans to make sure I didn't hurt my head in the fall. That was a real wake-up call. Now I make sure to eat even if it's just a Protein shake.
  19. My One Year will be on Monday 1/31/11 and I am so close to my goal weight. BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF.
  20. I would get the Lapband again in a heart beat. It is the best thing that I have ever done for myself. BEST PART = Type 2 diabetes is GONE!! I'm blessed to be one of the people that has found the process to be easy. Good Luck
  21. I like the one from Costco = 30 grams of protein is awesome!
  22. I love reading all the excitement in the posts of the upcoming bandsters! I remember waiting for my date. I had my Lapband on 1/31/10 and it has been the best thing I have ever done. Even after 11 months, I still have a Protein shake for Breakfast every morning. It has become part of my life and I enjoy it. You can get creative with adding frozen or fresh fruit. I use the GNC brand. I have found that it tastes great. Personally I couldn't handle Isopure - completely made me gag. In fact I still have about a case in the pantry - wish I knew somebody close by to give it to. Stay positive - You can do this! Type 2 diabetes GONE and life is good!
  23. Keep up the good job! It's an exciting adventure. I've gone from a size 16 to now a size 8 - it can happen - not overnight but it WILL happen if you stick to it.
