  1. I really hate how one bad apple spoils the bunch. The stories about Almanza are the reason the stereotypes against Mexican surgeons get perpetuated. There are so many fantastic surgeons in Mexico and they get a bad rap, just because of this ONE guy. Very frustrating. I've spent months researching doctors in Tijuana, MX. I decided on dr. Ponce de leon and will be setting my date most likely this week. Almanza wasn't even a consideration.
  2. Well I'm at a hotel in San Diego and will be having my arm lipo with tightening procedure in the morning. Can't wait. Has anyone had this done and can share? Below is where I am going. http://www.pacificlipo.com/
  3. At my goal weight - Banded just over 2 years now & STILL can't tolerate breakfast. Protein shakes have become my breakfast and I really like them now. No longer having Type 2 Diabetes and being a size 6 is soooooo worth it though.

  6. (2) years post-op and now it's time to fix "the girls". I am so excited. Surgery is Thursday 12/22/11 The thought of seeing perk,y instead of the saggy mess I see now, is hard to imagine. Has anyone had this procedure and can share with me the recovery?

    Breast Lift W/implants

Oh the implants and breast lift was extremely successful. I can't believe how incredible they look! I'm 48 and "the girls" didn't even look this good when I was in my 20's.
  8. Congratulations - January will be my 2 yr anniversary. I've never felt better.

    Smart Lipo

I had it done to my arms. It got rid of probably 85% of my "batwings". They are so sculptured now I look like I have worked out. I plan on having it done to my thighs also.
  10. I am BEYOND happy............100% satisfied........Best thing I have ever done for myself
  11. I'm going to re-word this topic to describe me...........I don't "throw up" but I still get food stuck and "slime" at least once a week. I am (20) months post-op, below my goal weight but it still happens and most of the time it's my own fault. I'm either in a rush and eat too fast or eat foods that I know I shouldn't even attempt. Personally I can't eat beef of any type, not even ground beef. NO type of bread works, but crackers do. And don't even try a tortilla - the dough just makes a BIG blob and must come back up. If I stick to the right foods that I know work and then - CHEW CHEW CHEW - I do much better
  12. I had liposculpture done at PacificLipo in San Diego. My arms look amazing now. I plan on having my thighs done in November.
  13. I shopped clearance everywhere I went! Celebrate your accomplishments............you deserve it! I'm size (6) now and loving it!

    What I dont miss

I don't miss having to shop at Lane Bryant. I love hearing "You are so tiny now!" If I can do it so can you.....
  15. I didn't have any restriction until my 3rd fill. I still don't eat much more than a cup at each meal. If I can do it - you can too!!! Good Luck to all of you!

    2 kinds of feeling stuck

I had my surgery in January 2010 and I STILL can't tolerate any type of beef - not even ground beef. Bread is completely out of the question. I missed it in the beginning but now it's not a problem.

    I'm so excited!

I am also a match for someone. I was notified (3) months ago. Currently the patient isn't well enough to undergo the transplant. I pray they found me in time and that she can gain enough strength so I can help her.
  19. Keep up the good work - it works!

What to do if you get stuck!

I still get stuck all the time. It's not a big deal to me. I just go to the restroom, lean over and it comes right up. You will learn what foods you can't tolerate. I had my surgery (18) months ago and still can't eat beef of any kind, flour tortillas or bread. I have no problems with rice or pasta. Everyone is different.
  21. Congrats - It works - I'm a LapBand success and you can be too!
  22. Cheering you on also.......don't give up - the band works!

    Foodies and Restaurants

I enjoy high-end quality food as well. I'm a year and a half post-op and still can't tolerate any type of beef. I tried (1) very small bite of hubbys steak recently and ended up in the restroom withing minutes. Many people have problems with rice and Pasta but I do fine. Bread - forget it - and to be truthful I don't even miss it. I have become a big fish now. I haven't had a problem with any. Fresh fish and shellfish = yummy! I do have a shake every day for Breakfast. It has just become a part of my life and I enjoy them. My band tends to be tighter in the morning so shakes work well.

    Male who needs help

That describes me perfectly. I hardly think about food anymore - I'm never hungry. I eat a little and I'm perfectly satisfied.
  25. I'm a year and a half out and still can't eat: Steak or bread. I can eat thin crust pizza but usually can't even finish (1) whole piece.
