I, like I'm sure many that have had Lap Band surgery, have been on just about every diet imaginable. I have always been a "bigger girl"... big boned. Even though I always felt overweight, I didn't really get heavy until after I had my children, shot up over 200 pounds and never seemed to get it all off. Through the years I just gained more, and yo-yo-ed. This has taken it's toll on my knees, I work in a job that I'm on my feet all day. My ankles swell up and if I have to walk a lot I get a pain in my back. I have just had my 3rd knee surgery in February. For the first month I couldn't put any weight on my surgery leg... it was unbelievable how hard it was to hop around on crutches being overweight, always huffing and puffing. Being so inactive these last couple of months since my surgery I have gotten even more out of shape and gained more weight. I now weigh 282 pounds! I have two friends that have had the Lap Band Surgery and it has changed their lives! They only wished they had had it done sooner. I have gone to a seminar, met with Dr. Sasse and have been VERY very interested in having this done. I know this would improve my life immensely!! Just to feel better, have more energy and be more active, and to be healthier. I wouldn't say no to being in pictures any longer and would feel like I could take an active part in "life" again... and not feel ashamed, embarrassed or trying NOT to stand out. I want to LIVE!
