  1. Best money spent ever...... FoodSaver. When my husband is home he/we cook and there is always leftovers. I portion out my lunch for every day. This machine is a lifesaver. If you don't have one... GET ONE!!!! Also, buy the small paper plates (6"). Portion out on the plate and vacuum seal it. label it and and put a date. I either keep in the fridge or freezer. When we dine out, i take my leftovers home and do the same. If i have left over soup, i just seal it in the bag. The next day or a week later or longer... (last forever it seems). I put one meal in my lunch bag and poop it in the microwave with a small slit.... done. https://www.amazon.com/FoodSaver-Automatic-Machine-Express-Certified/dp/B01MDRSCVF/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=food+saver&qid=1584361769&s=kitchen&sr=1-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyVlAzNDA3Q1dZQVVZJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNjY1Njg4MjlSRTA2T1JCOVZIMCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNDc3NzIwMUQ1WEoyOEROQk9KMCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
  2. I suggest you do a little homework first. Call your insurance company and ask what are the requirements for WLS. Back in 2009 (lapband) the insurance i had the requirements were..... 35 bmi with 2 co morbids OR over 40 bmi with no co's. I quilified for the 40 bmi. I am also 5'2".... (this is one time where being short pays off). I was 232lbs so my bmi was around 42 i think. WLS was a life saver for me in so many ways. Because i had the LB my weight loss was so, but i stuck with it and followed the rules. Got to 143lbs and stayed there for nearly 8 years. Then in March of 2017, after years of zero problems, i got sick and for a week i threw up violently, slipped my band and had to have her removed. Over the next 2.5+ years (and starting menopause) i put back 30lbs of the 89 i lost. Which was still great.... but i hated how i felt. I also hated that no matter what i did.... diet, diet pills, not eating, tracking food, crossfit,.... nothing stopped it. After about a year without her i realized i wouldn't be able to keep all the weigh off with out some intervention. So i started looking for a Dr. to do a revision. My plan was to get the MGB, but no one would do it..... all i kept hearing was... You don't weigh enough.... ughhhh. I started plans to go down to Mex and have it done there.... then on a last ditch effort i called a local Dr. and had a meeting with him. He agreed that had i NOT been a previous WLS patient he would never do anything.... BUT because i was he could get me in as a "revision". So on Aug. 28, 2019 i went in for the Sleeve. No, it's not what i wanted, but i grabbed the chance and ran with it... that and 14K. Mex was about 9-10k i think. Yes i would have saved a few thousand, but it was worth the extra to have my dr. 10 min from me and not in Mex. Today, i happy at my current weight of 131lbs. The day i was sleeved i was 173.5lbs. Worth every cent of that 14k.

  6. got rid of them.... No looking back. My better more expensive clothes, i too to get taken in
  7. I read the OP and just think.... Wow. For one if you are that concerned, lock your self in your home and don't leave till this is over. Have anything you need delivered to you. As far as your loved one, if you are worried, get in your car and go make sure he is being cared for. Second, people are telling you what they are/would do and you're basically shutting them down. If you didn't want people's opinions, why did you ask. Me, i'm doing what i do every day. Nothing different. People should already be coughing into their elbow, washing their hands, keeping themselves clean.... Unless you have terrible hygiene... i see no need for worry. Wash your hands and get the flu shot..... More people die from that then will EVER die from Corona. (copied this ) The CDC predicts that at least 12,000 Americans will die from the flu in any given year. As many as 61,000 people died in the 2017-2018 flu season, and 45 million were infected. Nearly 6.5 times the amount of people that live in your state....The state of Massachusetts has nearly 7 million people living there. Corona cases so far World Wide: around 122k, Deaths around 4k+, people that have RECOVERED: almost 70K.... Currently, there are around 50k active cases.

  11. Holy Hell..... found this old picture from before my Lapband in 2009. Found on my friend's FB page. It said post Feb 2010.... But i'm 99.9% sure it was pre op liquid diet..... That would have made me 232# back then..... that jacket was a 3XL...(maybe a 4). I was so sad back then. I really felt at the end of my rope. I'm so happy with the way things turned out. Looked back at some of my post and damn the things i said..... i was one of the "i only lost" posters... I was also still under the delusion that i could make my marriage work. Didn't know it then, but he was cheating.... in so many ways. Since then i had the band placed Nov 2009, looking back now... i really didn't lose a whole lot that first year... like 60#. I lost another 20 the next year..... i hovered at 143-145 for years. I had a TT in March of 2012. 2015/2016 told him i wanted a divorce. Oct. 2016 meet the love of my life. March 2017, my band slipped and had an ER removal. Aug 2017 moved to Mississippi. Feb 2019 started menopause... and the weight really started coming back on.... from 143# removal day to 173.5 .... Found a Dr. that would do a Low BMI revision.... 2.5 years later. 14K OOP.... and worth every cent. Got married Sept. 26, 2019 (one month pre op). Today i weight 131.? It has taken me 10 years to lose 100#s.... Stated at a size 18-20 pants...

Yessssss..... Where do you live... i'm coming to raid your closet. What size shoe you wear?
  16. If i may: Cereal is not good for you, plus it's mixed with milk and this will not keep you full. Most cereal has loads of sugar. I would replace that with a smoothie or eggs and bacon. My husband makes me a quiche .... Eggs, bacon, green onions, cheese and cream. I have one slice which is about 3-4oz. Soup is loaded with sodium and again won't keep you full. Try the protein and some kind of veggies. Dinner looks good except for the mashed potatoes.... maybe try a baked sweet potato or some other veggie. Bananas are nearly pure sugar... Try: Pineapple, cherries, blueberries, blackberries,
  17. OMG ..... If it's the Depo Shot..... STOPPPPPPP!!!!!! Years ago they removed the IUD and started me on the Depo... I gained 50lbs in one month.... it was horrible. Look into the Nuvo Ring. It was the best Birth control EVER.... I tried it all, the Pill (nausea all the time), diaphragm (terrible bladder and yeast infections), Condoms with and without foam (latex-sensitive), IUD (terrible bleeding), the shot (major weight gain, but i didn't bleed), then the Ring. It was the only one that worked for me. Then in my 30ies i had a partial hysterectomy.... OMG it was like the heavens parted and the angels were singing.... At 50 i started menopause and it sucks Ass..... I started gaining weight and couldn't control it, no matter what i did. So i decided enough was enough and paid OOP for a revision to the sleeve. Note: All of the birth control was before i was banded in 2009 SW: 232 LW 143: Removal 2017 at 143. Sleeved 8/28/19 at 173.5, today 131.4

  19. it's nice to hear when people notice. But I understand. Since August i lost 42ish lbs. The people that i work with on a daily bases can tell i have lost..... But, my husband's family and some of his friends don't say a word unless he said.... Doesn't chris look great... Then they will say something. But before the wedding when he lost weight..... his family was all about .... Wow tim you lost a lot of weight. Here i was down 20lbs... and not one word.... It did hurt my feelings.... but ohhhh well.
  20. @Xx1jpt5xx Just like a couple of others said.... get up and walk walk walk.... it's the best way to "bounce" back. SX on a Wednesday and i was back at work on Monday. I took one pain pill the day i went home. You can't let her negativity creep into you... You have to put your big boy underwear on and show her. Now i'm not saying go and run a marathon or start powerlifting... but you have to keep moving. Take a walk to the mailbox, to the end of the driveway, to the front door... do not get sedentary... Set your timer and drink your sips of water/fluid. Drink your soup broth. I love wonton soup broth... sooooo good. Sip it. Nourishment equals healing...
