  1. Please stick to the Diet, it is crucial to a good surgery, YOUR LIVER has to be small and if you are not dieting right now, it won't be and could get in the way during surgery and placing the Band could be difficult. Just think about getting through one hour at the time and don't eat but what you are suppose to, please. I just don't want to see you have any problems. It is so hard right now, but promise you after the surgery it will get better.

  2. Love the pic, I too felt this way after losing weight and going to a Class Reunion of 40 years! This year! IT was awesome all the comments that I got, so ENJOY! Accept their praise, you deserve it, you have worked hard.

  3. Sounds terrific!!! I am so glad you got out and took that Vacation, you needed it, About the time it has been for you, I went on a cruise to Mexico, EVERYONE but me was worried about me! How would I EAT???? Whatever, we had this surgery to live our lives BETTER and not STOP living. Congrats, live and have fun, life is short!!!

  4. Thanks for your LIFE update, I was thinking about you the other day! Wondering about the book, etc. You are such a talented writer, I really hope and pray that you get it going! Sound like your life is as full as mine with your children, they can keep us busy. I still have more to lose myself, but I am getting there slowly and surely with the band. Good Luck!

  5. Amen to ALL the above, you are so right, it is the time of REVELATION as I called it! It just kicks you one day and you realize that good things are happening to you as a result of a very good decision that you made to make a change. I felt like that when I made the THANKFUL list. We are approaching Thanksgiving and we all have so much to be thankful for~I am so proud of and for you. God Bless!

  6. So it all went well, I get mine the same way you do too under flouroscopy! They can really see what they are doing that way. Congrats, you will see a difference. It took about a 10 lb drop for me to see a size difference, and it sure is nice. I have one week till my daughters wedding and I am working so hard I have to fit in eating! Careful that I don't snack on the 400 butter mints I made for that day! LOL Or the White Chocolate Almond Joy Candies either! I have about 200 of those! Whew, hey I really don't care for either anymore much, but I did taste them so to make sure they were good! LOL Candy was never my downfall just good ole southern cooking with cornbread on the side! So happy for you, you WILL get into that dress soon.

  7. You are so awesome! Number 1 in my book, you can do it, What is 12 lbs anyway? Just a number to reach and you have all the tools before you. I can remember seeing the first photos of you and you have come a LONG way baby!!!! Congrats~ So happy for you.

  8. Don't ask and maybe it won't start!!! that was the worst part of the surgery for me! But I got over it, lots of Gas~X! I thought it was a great trade off for the results. I have lost over 90 lbs and it has been only 14 months and It is staying off! That is the best thing, I have more to lose but it gets slower and harder to lose after the first six months so do as you are told and stay real close to the Dr.s orders and you will be successful, don't cheat, you are only cheating YOURSELF! God Bless and feel better soon.

  9. You were right to post, I have learned more about my band from those right here on LapBandtalk than I did from my Dr's office. I don't think the Nurses are well versed to help because they don't live with this band daily like we do! You know your own body better than anyone, and ONCE when I was sick, I did not want to SHAME myself and tell the Dr.!! I was stupid, never again! I made up my mind that this is MY JOURNEY, not theirs, but they are there to help me along the way. I paid for my surgery and it was very serious to me, any complicatons can arise from this or any other major surgery and even death! So I never take surgery as casual! You look great and are such a great addition to this group. Glad to have you as a friend!

  10. I eat breakfast solid, lunch soups fill in the afternoon and then nothing but liquids for 24 hrs. That is usually enough to get past the swelling of the fill and helps kick start a little weight loss too! Just remember to get the protien shakes in when you are not eating solid protien! Best Wishes.

  11. Biggest Loser is a GREAT Motivator!!! I love to see anything that helps people shed weight and feel better about themselves. I now stay on track because I KNOW folks are watching me as a role model and I don't want to let them down, OR MYSELF! I wanted this so bad! I am like you and your story is almost mine!!!! I have a ways to go to be really satisfied, and all the time in the world to get there too. I know I COULD NOT take the pressure of the extent of the exercise they do on Biggest Loser, but they DON'T Show all the Dr.s on there etc. that they are privileged to have helping them. All day with no break, we could accomplish a lot too and everybody watching??? The pressure would be really intense right? I love my band and it is my silent reminder to eat and stay healthy, hey girl, we made the BEST choice, but I too am addicted to Biggest Loser!

  12. Great post thanks for sharing, I am also about the same as you and watching everything carefully. No slips but I am now aware what to look for thanks to your post. I need to lose about 35 lbs more to be really satisfied. I have woke up to fluid in my throat! When I drink my last water of the night before laying down and I am full I think it just stays there? Not a good thing! I know when I overeat too or go back for a few more bites I feel TOO FULL and hurt around the port area? Is that crazy or what?

  13. What you do is so important! You have the ability to FREEZE time! The kids and their families will be so grateful.. Just try to treat them all normal and have fun, that is what they really want and need, I think we all do. I felt handicapped before I took this weight off, I thought people looked at me with pity and it made me feel less normal. I try not to glare anymore at people like I use to. It is hard not to~when I see "Me" the "Old Me" in them, I just want to go over hug them, cry with them and tell them there is an alternative to being in that condition. You certainly have a challenge with this photo shoot. You have a gift for sure. Enjoy the time with your sister, and I look forward to viewing those pics!! Florida is cooler this week, cold front moving through, feels like Fall, although I am further up in the Panhandle. I love Disney World, glad you came and had fun!

  14. Thanks for all your comments, I really just let the stomach work it off, never did have to take anything and this morning for a little while it was bad, but around noon it left me, I thank God for the relief. I actually was able to eat well today (maybe too well, LOL) after the first part of the day. I had never known that about Pepto, I had some liquid in the fridge, and thought about it, but since I didn't trust the age of it, I decided to throw it out! Good thing huh ladies? We all are living and learning the curves with this thing called our BAND, that is the process of our lives now and makes us different when it comes to even small things like an upset stomach?? We will get there. And Sandra, I am going Monday to get my hair colored and cut and my nails done on Tuesday with a massage!!! That outta take off some stress, when the tent arrives I will relax, as I told my daughter as long as she is beautiful for her special day, walks down the isle and says "I DO" that is all that really matters.

  15. 116 lbs! That is totally awesome! You have a great testament for others and share of yourself and your experience through your recipes. Thanks so much for that. I am so proud for you, the weight just dragged me down and now that it is coming off, I can hardly hold on to myself to give some ME time to me. I want to do it all! I know how you feel, congrats. Love the red dress!

  16. The scales can play tricks on you, watch out for that, make sure to weigh the same way and at the same time of day. You are doing so great, and this trip will boost your spirits. I have about 4 lbs to go and 10 days to get there? Oh well, I did get closer to the goal and my new weight. I will be getting there before Thanksgiving. I am spending the Thanksgiving Holiday with my daughter and her husbands family and my new granddaughter, they can eat, I'll just hold and feed the baby! HA have fun in NOLA, you "Sassy thing"

  17. I have not been sick yet with the flu or anything thank God! I do feel so sorry for you. I have been just a little off my eating habits this week, with working on my daughters wedding stuff and I am feeling tired. The office holds lots of germs for all of us and I have started carrying the small things of hand sanitizer around with me, to use this fall and winter. Hoping and praying that you will get to feeling better soon, it is no fun being sick, just don't throw up too much, or maybe not at all, I HATE to be that sick. Get some rest and sleep is good for you.
