  1. For me I feel discomfort at the full point ,then I am done.............
  2. Yes, its normal in recovery................you'll find a new energy soon
  3. Be insistant with your needs ! Demand another fill. you are the only one who knows what your restriction is
  4. I have 29 more lbs to reach 100 lost. My goal is to loose a total of 125 so I am in it to win YEAH !
  5. I d say that the" Lap Band is a tool" is pretty spot on. There are no magic bullets here or anywhere,to MAKE you lose weight. You must be fully committed to making the right choices along with the assistance from your new best friends you and your belt. The lap band is not for everyone its not always easy and sometimes it can be pretty messy. So if you are not in for the marathon,it would be best just pass on the idea.

Had my visit after my first fill of 2 wks ago. 4 more lbs gone. My Doc thinks I got this, so he said one more visit next month before going to a every three months visit. I feel like I am graduateing or something yeah!!!!!!!!! His words of advice stick to the 4 0z measurement at each meal I don't need to get ahead of myself on this. I agree weighing measureing your intake is critical.............it would be so easy to just eyeball my intake and let my brain confuse want with need.

  9. Tell hubby thanks but................you can do this, you won't be confined to a bed or need potty assistance. You will need a ride home from the hospital and love. Maybe he just wants to take some time off hehehe ? remember lapbandtalk has a chat room that can be very helpful to you when you need reasurance. Good Luck !
  10. Try baby utencils...... I use them at home they help me think about what I should be doing. Also get away from the TV mindless eating continues even after the band. I eat faster if I am watchiing Tv
  11. The Biggest loser scale...... helps greatly when maintaining that 4 oz meal. Our eyes play tricks on us we can only think we know what 4 oz look like on that small plate.
  12. I have the same thing each morning 4oz of greek yogart with sugar free cool whip. I find it satisfying and greek yogart has about 2x the amount of protien of regular yogart.

Feeling great about my decison to have the Lap Band. I ve had many ups and downs just as all other banders even still i would'nt change a thing. 67 pounds down I am proud of myself. I am physically more active now by just pushing myself. My back pain is much improved and even my arthritis seems to be enjoying my new lifestyle. I ve eliminated the need for two of my medications I ve taken for yrs. I realize now that the meds had some side effects that I had accepted as my normal. They too I have been left behind. I am enjoying something I had stoped enjoying for quite awhile SHOPPING !!!!!!!! ( from 24 t0 18 I am really stoked ! I love donating my big ol stuff to those who need, a even bigger:thumbup:

  15. I am 6 months out with my Lap Band. I noticed my Dr presented both the GB and LB although I made it clear why I was there. He even asked again at my second visit if I had given any thought to the GB ? I said NO and that was the end of it. I have sneaky feeling there are more bucks for all with the GB. Thats just me I believe it all boils down to the money......
  16. I was banded 10/09 in USA with insurance. No problems good restriction without fills for the first 3 months. The next month my gall bladder had to come out no problems with surgery ok. I then felt no restriction at all.( my theory is that the surgical proceedure(gall bladder caused the shift of my port) I was then set up for first fill under fluroscope but port turned and was told I d have to get a revision before I could have my first fill. That went ok no complications they filled to 4 cc at revision surgery. One day later I can't eat a thing,so I was unfilled to 2 cc. I now feel great restriction just right. So............even in America ports can have issues......Hopefully mine are now over. I am still happy with my band decision
  17. There is nothing Christian about deneying health care to ALL AMERICANS..................... Thank you Jesus for a new breed of leadership that directs us to your will............
  18. Breath................ move forward, study, reaseach and reflect. It is more involved than choseing what purse to carry today. Its a REAL life style change. I have no regrets
  19. Take a deep breath, you did the right thing. Once you recoup physically you'll see. You have set yourself on the road to regaining your health for yourself and all who love you !
  20. Here in the state of Alabama/BCBS has everyone wait 6 months before you are approved for your surgery date, so this dose not sound so unusual. At first I hated the idea, but after having gone thru the process I think its a good thing .You have a chance to get your head around what you are about to do.
  21. Seriously ?? I know I missed the joke somewhere. Unless you've been livin under a rock !
  22. I was banded Oct 09,my band was not filled when placed. I ve had really good restriction for the first 4 months, and lost a good amount of weight. Now however I am feeling the hunger increase and planned on getting my first fill a week ago.During the procedure it was found that my port had been twisted and must be replaced before I can get a fill because it might cause a leak as is. Its a simple outpatient proceedure the port is just under your skin. I ll be out in about an hour. As far as fills go My Dr tells me that a small precentage of lap band patient never need a fill. Just the application of band provides enough .
  23. Are you trying to muttle the issue ? PEOPLE in this country (U.S.A) DIE EACH DAY from lack of access to health care. I am ashame of this fact aren't you? WAKE UP ! This is not about a bum on a street corner this is about everyday struggling breathing Americans that a system has failed. We can no longer let the slimey GOP/Insurance co's have it they're way. " Your GOP Reps say "Write me a check I ll do anything for another check, I ll LIE to anyone who will listen and take me seriuosly." "Those foolish folks at home they're stupid they only listen to FOX RUSH and GLEN I got them covered.
  24. Greed the root of all evil...........I am a firm beliver
