I am 33 years old and happily married with one step daughter, and 2 dogs who are my babies. I was banded June 5,2009 by John Miller in St. George Utah. I have been overweight since I was 12 years old, and have struggled with my weight since. I was diagnosed with PCOS, and all the fun things that go along with it like insulin resistance, back in 2002. I tried getting pregant for several years with no luck, and was told over and over again it would be more likely if I lost weight, I dieted, lost weight and still was not able to get pregnant. I became depressed and gained most of my weight back. My mental and physical well being continued to to deteriate. My dad came to me and suggested the Lapband, he then went with me to a seminar. Where I decided I wanted to get the Lapband, for really no other reason but to get healthy. I have never been too insecure with my body size, and have always been very confident, but do miss out on things because of my weight and size. I also do not want anymore health problems. I discussed the surgery with my husband, and decided it was time. I tossed around the idea of getting the sleeve, but didn't like the idea of loosing a part of my stomach, so decided on Lapband. Then it came time to find a surgeon. I had decided not to go with the surgeon I met while at the seminar, due to the fact there was really not much in aftercare. I finnally made the decision to go with John Miller, and my surgery went great, the hospital and staff were great.
