  1. I can honestly say I felt the same way you do today, a year ago. A friend of mine said something to me that just clicked and got me thru the ruff times she said "do something 23 times and it becomes a habit" Really I sware by this now. I think its scientifically true. If I don't get to my gym at least two times a week I just don't feel right .Try it!
  2. Yeah, I had a good ol time during Christmas holidays too I nibbled ,tasted and indulged all my taste buds. I did'nt actually have a regular piece of cake or pie but nibbles add up. Dec 27 I put it all behind me everything leftover was bagged and put in the frezzer for my hubby to enjoy as he likes. I just had to get it OUT OF MY FACE ! I am back to my reality and I am feeling safer sheilded from the temptations by a freezer door and a recent fill.
  3. Powerade Zero was a good diet coke replacement drink love love it !
  4. Good for you Bob, I ll be keeping up with you because after 30 more pounds I am up for the Panni too. I ll be asking alot of questions so get ready ! Congrats on all your hard work
  5. Its very normal, you just have not reached the varied restriction leval yet. Keep your Dr informed and continue to get fills unfortunatly we are all very different................. Don't loose heart, and do your very best in measureing your intake of food.
  6. I eat three meals a day, and if I absolutely feel like I need a cracker or a piece of fruit to get me to my planned meal I HAVE A SNACK . My doc or Nutritionist has never said no to reasonable snack only the mindless type.

You will never have restriction with fluids, you could'nt live like that. Restriction is a term used for solids we all want that to assist with weight loss. If you can't tolerate fluids there is something seriously wrong.
  8. I ve been banded since 10/09. I was a non mover also due mostly to weight and arthritis related issues. I tried to do something that I was physicaly capable of (walking Laps in a POOL) 48 laps=1 mile I know it by heart now. I joined the YMCA near my office and exercise 2 -3 times a week early in the morning because thats just me. Someone once told me it takes doing something 28 times to develop a habit. I can sware to that , it bothers me terriably to miss my newly developed habit almost like something I ve been doing all my life not just for a year. So my advise just do it 28 TIMES and see how you feel............
  9. Just saying we are at our best when we at last experience good restriction. I am a yr out from being banded and my Dr still insist on 4 oz per meal period. I ve had 3 fills total 6cc now in my band. I don't count calories just measure intake I am allowed to snack between meals as needed but something always healthy like fruit or a few nuts. I have also become a big fan of getting a good serving of protien to start my day Whey protien drink 52 grams of protien with skim milk keep me for about 4-5 hrs
  10. I had my GB pulled three months after lap band surgery. My lap band surgeon did the procedure himself laproscopicaly (SP) the same LB surgical entries were used. I was relieved,,very simple I had no problems afterwards at all.
  11. You won't loose if you are eating more than you should.Remember the 4 oz measurement of meals. Refresh instructions again.Maybe focus on Protein more to get you thru your day.
  12. The golden rule..............( for me)weigh everything 4 0z per meal, protein 1ST,low glycemic carbs only. Light healthy snack in between meals as needed again protein or fruit.Follow the no drinking fluids with meals rule.Remember this just because you feel like you can eat just as much as you could before surgery DON"T! This is a sign you need a adjustment!
  13. Come on now ! Now you want to back out because you might feel deprived. This is a lifestyle change, I ' and everyone thats banded said second thoughts did'nt happen before surgery. I challenge you to think about how deprived you feel from life right now in this moment? The band will help you eat and be satisfied with the required mini meals that are ahead of you. You will feel empowered to leave LACK of control in your past.
  14. I decided strictly wait for my Doctors visit monthly. I was so done with daily, weekly flucuations of numbers before being banded. My opinion is that it can be discourageing and I refuse to get caught up in it. I am in the habit now of gaurding against as much negativity as possiable,
  15. Chill...........you are not the first to do this .Its for your benefit so relax. You'll be on to mushies before you know it !
  16. Its normal to doubt all our decisions, you are in this for all the right reasons. Your health your future
  17. At the very least 2-3 times a week .................
  18. Congrats I am hoping to join you by Christmas it will have 20 yrs ago for me to be below the 200 mark
  19. When I can't ward off hunger for more that a hour or two I know its time for a fill...............good restriction for me is 4 -5 hrs without being hungry
  20. Congrats ! I hope to join you by Christmas.........
