  1. I am a patient of Dr. Moon's. I'm not having very good success in dealing with his office staff. I'm wondering if anyone else has been banded by him and how they thought the process went. He's at what use to be St. Luke - and is now St. Elizabeth Hospital. Thanks! Ginger
  2. Congrats on your surgery. Also, THANK YOU for posting the video. I've been wondering exactly what it would be like, and your video has helped me with that. Again, Thank you!
  3. OMG! That song was on in the gas station today when I paid for my gas. I have always loved that song. My mom played it when I was a kid (I'm 38 now.) GREAT lesson in that song.
  4. Just be mindful that it's "mindless" eating. You're not really paying attention to how much is put in your mouth due to watching the movie. :tongue_smilie:
  5. Surgery is never the "good/easy" way out. It's hard work.. even after the band. Too many of my loved ones/friends have had it done and it is not a magic bullet. So... if you decide to do this.. be prepared that it takes work.
  6. I got pissed off when my first doctor recommended that to me. If he was truly interested in my health, having me add on more weight so that I could have surgery to lose weight is ridiculous.
  7. I had a $600 program fee. I thought that was a bit much until I read 4K! wow.. I'd keep looking.
  8. Awesome! We have the same date!!!
  9. Just an update. Signed my "consent" paperwork today. January 14 it is.
  10. I will say I am very aware of what I'm eating now. I see my surgeon in the morning and hope to get my exact date. I am noticing what the kids are eating more and more too. I'm really hoping to not put on any more weight, and also terrified to lose any. I'm afraid that the insurance company will decide I don't need the procedure if I lose it on my own.
  11. Hi there. I'm in Dry Ridge, KY (35-40) mins south of Cincy. I'll be banded in January! Nice to find someone close!!
  12. I'm so excited for you! Please let us know how the surgery goes. My date is in January, so it's coming up pretty quick! Hope to hear from you again tomorrow or the next day!!!
  13. Well, my insurance said when they got the paperwork it would take them 45 days to make a determination. I waited 50 and couldn't stand it any longer. I had my husband call them and ask what the reason for denial was, and to my surprise, they told him that I was covered completely. Their definition of "completely" means I have one full year from the date of agreement to have the procedure done. Evidently, from their paperwork, I was approved in August. I just got word of that last week. Apparently it only took them 2 weeks to approve it. As far as testing, I did the psych eval, and the nutritionist meetings. That's been it!!:thumbup::scared2::thumbup::laugh::thumbup::laugh::thumbup::woot::thumbup::w00t:
  14. I've done the psych eval and the nutrionist due to that being part of my doctor's "plan".. however, I haven't had to do anything else for the insurance. They approved me the first try. I had expected to wait the 6 months which seems typical, however that wasn't required in my case. I do have Anthem for insurance.
  15. Whoo-Hoo, count me in for January. My insurance just approved me -without making me jump though hoops! I'm so very excited!!!
  16. I'm moving pretty quickly too. I had my first meeting with the surgeon June 26. The psych eval the following week and my nutrionist was yesterday. Now I have blood work to do and my 5 Monday night meetings. I'm very excited - oh I live in KY if that helps!
  17. Do you kiss your mama with that mouth? Seriously, someone needs to take you down a notch...as for that ignore feature.. I've got it... already done. You seriously are a piece of art lady..
  18. rodriguezequa, I hope your little boy is doing better, and you too.
  19. No need to curse, I get your point. And yes, you have your right to believe anything you wish.. however, trampling on someone else's feelings to make your point is unnecessary. I don't have an issue with your opinion, my opinion, the Pope's opinion.. I do have an issue with the way your shoving everyone else's down their own throat. A little tolerance goes a long long way.
  20. Perhaps you should back up a few pages. You blasted a first time poster for putting in her opinion.. you told her she should go away if that is how she felt and that you couldn't believe she posted for the first time in this area. I'm hoping, for your sake, that that isn't a common attitude. You know what.. I'm not going to get into this with you. You've been rude to everyone in this posting, I expect nothing less when it comes to me. I seriously hope you got the reaction you wanted.
  21. treat others as you would like to be treated. Would you like to be held in the court of "public opinion"? Haven't you spent enough of your life there? Come on..
  22. I'm so glad to see how tolerant everyone here is when it comes to the opinions of others. Beth.. I have never met you.. wouldn't want to with the way you flippantly come acoss at others. You attacked a person for putting their very first post in this category, was that necessary? It seems that most of us have had to deal with others making judgements against them, geez, give everyone a break and back off a bit will ya?
  23. that is... if you aren't insane.. lol, j/k congrats!
  24. I refuse to get dragged into this conversation, however, I simply MUST know where you got your signature! I love it! Oh.. and I can't resist.. I'm a MJ fan too. Before you crusify someone.. you should walk in there shoes.. oh wait.. you haven't?? enough said.
