  1. Your original post said you were 12 days out and eating a ton of food.
  2. Ya gotta try this. Coffee AND Protein. Hot or cold. I use half milk and half Water for even more protein. Yummy. I ordered it through Amazon. Make every moment CLICK with the first and only espresso protein drink!
  3. Holy Moley. I just saw this. You are eating all of this at 12 days out? At that point I was just on to full liquids and was having a hard time getting that down. I am surprised at how different each doctor is about post op diet. But even had I been allowed solids at that point I could not have gotten all that food in in one day. I did see that folks cautioned you about the calories and you are heeding that advice. Things will get moving again. Stalls happen. Stalls are evil, but stalls will happen. This won't be you last. And you will LOSE. I've gone through a number of frustrating stalls but I'm getting there. You will too.
  4. I am so sorry this has been such an ordeal. It is totally unnecessary as most infections can be prevented with proper precautions. Thank you for posting this. As you can see, you've given at least one poster the information she was looking for.
  5. She tends to take longer to heal. She has lupus. It is in remission but maybe that has something to do with it.
  6. January is already nuts, but definitely February. We'll need to set a date soon. I haven't seen postings by Ms. Yates. How is she doing?
  7. Itstime how are you feeling? Sis is still a bit rocky. I'm so excited. Today I was trying to find a little jacket in my closet to go with my jeans. I figured they 'grew up' with me (stretched as I stretched) so they could probably 'grow down' with me too. Um, wrong! Every one I tried on made me feel like a kid trying on Mommy's clothes. :-) So now I have to go around nearly naked because I have so few clothes that fit right now but I don't want to buy more because I'm on the verge of dropping another size. I have to clean out my closet. It is huge and stuffed full but nothing to wear. Some of the stuff still have tags on them because I always bought at year-end sales for the next year. I am going to have to learn how to sell on ebay.
  8. I just looked at my ticker a little while ago and realized that as of today I am NORMAL!! (I'm sure my family may disagree lol) My BMI is NORMAL. I'm not even a teeny bit overweight - at least according to the charts. Nine more pounds and I will be looking pretty darned good and thirty more and I'll be back to being 22 yrs. old again. Well, 22 with wrinkles.
  9. I would never have recognized you. You look wonderful. Job well done!
  10. Congratulations! That is quite an accomplishment.
  11. That is fabulous. It is all downhill from here. Congratulations!
  12. We don't owe strangers our personal information. I have two friends who really need the surgery and might think about it if they saw my success. I shared the information with them. People I know would not consider it and would pooh pooh it or just the plain curious don't need the information from me on my personal life.
  13. I deeply resent being told I'm not being honest if I do not choose to share my personal information. I see this on another board I post to also. At least give us credit as to knowing who our audience is. Please also allow us to maintain our privacy with dignity too.
  14. I told no one. Hubby, Sister (because she lives near me and would have missed me), my daughter (who came with me), and one son found out. It is nobody's business. This losing weight is hard work. I'M doing it. The sleeve helps but the sleeve does not equal weight loss unless you do the work. We have a large family and they LOVE to gossip. I refuse to be the topic of the day. This is my personal business. OTOH, I did tell two close friends who have struggled with weight right along with me and now have be having weight related health issues. I would love to see them follow in my footsteps. Sis did just this last week. If anyone asks, I have been following a low calorie, low carb diet and increased my exercise. That is not a lie. THAT is how the weight is coming off.
  15. Wowie, zowie, I had fun. We gals in the Las Vegas area met up on Saturday for lunch. This time only four of us were able to make it, but we yakked like 40. There was so much to share. The women on this board are bee-u-tiful! It was VegasAngel, CYates, YoYoQueen and myself. YoYo is at goal and no bigger than a minute. You'd never know she'd had a weight problem. We each ordered little bitty food items and we still needed doggie bags. LOL We had so much fun that we are going to do it again.
  16. If you are taking blood pressure medicine talk to your PCP before the surgery. You should not crush them. I was doing that and my blood pressure went off the chart. Sometimes you can get one that you take twice a day and spread it out that way. So if you are taking any other meds be sure to talk to your PCP or pharmacist before you crush them.
  17. That is the hardest part of the surgery. It is a big problem for me too. Do you buy magnesium tablets? Where do you find them?
  18. To me it felt as though I was being tickled from the inside.
  19. You go girl. We old broads need to stick together.
  20. It seems to be about getting the last word in. Having to be right. It is juvenile.
  21. Plastic surgeons are some of the hardest doctors to choose. Anybody who is a doctor can claim to be a plastic surgeon. So then you narrow it down to cerifications. And then you have to find good recommendations because there are still many out there who do not have good skills. It is a scarey proposition - especially those areas that show.
