  1. Why are you doing this? You are sabotaging your surgery? Again, why? You are also putting yourself at risk for serious complications. You can create a leak. As far as eating what you crave because you "can't help it". You know that isn't true. It is a choice you are making. Does your program have counselors on staff? If they don't you might want to look into one privately. You are having issues and we can't really help you here. You have to want to help yourself and you need to do it soon before you cause surgical complications for yourself. I can't believe you can eat two cups of food. I can't even manage 1/4 cup yet. Please get help. We don't want to see you become ill.
  2. Exactly! I usually order an appetizer. This is more than enough for me. If hubby gets something yummy, I'll have a couple of bites. I usually have to bring some of the appetizer home with me.
  3. It doesn't require a lot of strength. You take one bite too many and you suffer the consequences.
  4. I do get frustrated when I'm eating something that will do me good because it contains so much Protein. I fixed 1/2 of a small filet last night and could only eat 1/2 of it. I tried tuna salad for lunch again. It was such a staple on my presurgery diet and suffered for hours after that. It looks as though that is off of my list for a good long time to come. There are lots of frustrations with this surgery, but I keep hearing that it gets better.
  5. In the beginning hot did go down easier. It must relax the muscles. Hang in there. It gets better. Now I can drink normally except for the protein drinks which take a lot longer to get down.
  6. Actually I have not. I'll have to check into that further. I don't normally keloid though.
  7. I'm with you. I really don't want any more surgery either. But if I get to my goal and my arms look like sh*&, and I can't wear the clothes I want, then it will be depressing.
  8. Oh, I'm not looking for lipo because I'm hoping to lose all the weight. What I would want gone is the hanging batwing loose skin.
  9. I had it happen to me. It was totally frustrating. I'm now losing again. It stalled for nearly two weeks. Even though I'm losing it is slow. I was hoping I'd be losing 10 - 15 pounds/mo. at least at the beginning. I probably will lose ten this month, but hoped for more since the first six months is supposed to have the greatest results.
  10. Yep. Don't want the flappy bat wings showing. I can hide the other with spanx and such but not the arms. I really don't want another surgery but may have to go with that eventually.
  11. If you lose slowly your skin can sometimes keep up. No promises though. But, of course, we all want to lose fast, so probably will have some sagging. VegasAngel, tell us more about the laser surgery. I know I'm going to have batwings and you can't hide those. I'll live with the saggy boobs and maybe a bit of a panni. Good underwear can help those, but I want to wear sleeveless again some day.
  12. (I used to live in Quartz Hill)
  13. Oh my gosh. She's there alone? That is awful. She will be in my thoughts tonight and a prayer went up for her.
  14. I take Protonix too. It is slightly bigger than an 81 mg. aspirin, so pretty tiny.
  15. You are very welcome. I'm glad I was able to help. Good luck on the surgery. Keep us posted.
  16. Didn't love it. Still doing Atkins and Costco Premier (not as tasty but a lot more proteins) I also use the MAX protein that is in the blue containers and it is pretty good. None of those are clear though.
  17. I was using the Atkins shakes before surgery and bought a bunch for after surgery. The only problem is that I am now super sensitive to sweet tastes and they taste too sweet for me. The same with Crystal Lite. I have to really dilute it. I put coffee in the Atkins or I can't drink it any more. Be careful what you stock up on presurgery you might not like it post surgery.
  18. My advice - don't go to all clear liquids before surgery. You are going to be so sick of them after surgery, I can't imagine adding it before surgery. That was the worst part of the surgery - the ten days of clears afterwards. Fruit juice is HIGH in carbs. I'd rather get it in the fruit itself or some other healthy food.
  19. I think you are still confused. This is not me, it is a post on the other forum. I just started associating Pleatman with posters there who seem to have more complications than normal.
  20. Sorry. I was posting a link above and it didn't show up.
  21. I've been sleeved! Ended up in I.C.U. though.... http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/VSG/3975240/Ive-been-sleeved-Ended-up-in-I-C-U-though/
  22. I know we aren't supposed to compare. I know this is a marathon and not a sprint. But I have to confess to being totally frustrated. My progress has been so slooooooow. I was hoping for a kick start the first month being that almost three weeks of that was just liquids, and then it would level off to a slower but steady progress after that. I lost more on my pre-op diet eating a heck of a lot more than I am now and I wasn't even exercising. The last two and a half weeks I've barely eked out two pounds. At that rate it is going to take me two years and there are people on the boards doing it in 4 - 6 months. I did not expect that to happen since I'm a so-called 'lightweight', but I didn't think eight to ten pounds a month was too much to ask for. I'm so disappointed. I'm not expecting answers, I just needed to vent to someone.
  23. I turned 65 three weeks after my surgery. I have a lot of life left in me and I'm not living it overweight any more. I want to be the hot Grammie. lol
  24. If I could have had this surgery 40 years ago, my life would have been so much easier. Good for you for attacking it young.
  25. Heck VegasAngel and I both live in Vegas. Talk about restaurant heaven! lol
