  1. I love flying now. I'm the person people WANT to have sit next to them because I have room to spare. I also have to tighten the seat belt every time I fly now instead of stretching it to its limits.
  2. I haven't posted here in a while. It will be two years in May since my surgery. I am a happy, happy camper. Went from size 18 - 20 down to a size 4. I just had my panni removed two weeks ago and can't wait until the swelling is gone to see the new me. The reason I am posting is because I was quite old when I had the surgery - 65. It is never too late to begin your life again. The next 20 years will be full and happy ones.
  3. Those presumptuous whippersnappers! A friend of mine, who is a psychic, recently told me I was going to live until 93. That might not have been the case if I hadn't gone through with the surgery. If you go back a page I posted a link to my current picture. Not too bad for a 66-yr-old broad if I have to say so myself. lol
  4. If you follow the link yes that is me. My hair is coming back.
  5. Travellady misc. pictures from family photos on webshots This is the results of an old lady. Obviously doing something wrong. Photo not showing.
  6. You made the right choice. You will have a good experience.
  7. Bring your laptop. Connection is sometimes iffy, but you can bring some movies from home too. Don't bother with books as your concentration is off after anesthesia, but magazines are good. ipod good too.
  8. I'm feeling super great thank you. I would have gone alone to Aceves if my family had not thrown a fit. Daughter came with me but only stayed until the surgery was over and she left the next morning. But that is my personality. I did go with sister when she had hers and she needed to have me there, but that is her personality. You will be fine.
  9. Nope! As far as I can tell you get good or you get cheap. You don't get both.
  10. Those are definitely good ones. I especially like the last one.
  11. Well good luck to you. I thought Medicare excluded the VSG. If worse comes to worst I had a wonderful experience in Mexico. Don't give up your dream. Keep us posted.
  12. It is NEVER too late. You have many years left to your life. Go for it! Who is the doctor in Vegas who takes Medicare? Do you live in Vegas? I do. Some of us will be getting together March 6. Are you interested?
  13. Good for you! I am right there with you. I had my surgery with Dr. Aceves the end of May one month before my 65th birthday. With the pre-op weight loss and the loss since I am also past the 100 lb. mark. I'm shooting for a little more but it is more vanity weight than weight I actually need to lose. I look great and feel even better than that. Don't let age scare you off. You can do it and you will be happy you did. I figure I have at least another 20 years to go and I may as well feel good for those years.
  14. Don't they just have the greatest team? You never feel ignored.
  15. Yes he is eye candy. I think Dr. Campos is cute too. Ernest had his surgery a couple of weeks before I did.
  16. Holy Moley - 100 pounds in four months?! You guys are amazing. Wing, don't set yourself up for disappointment. 100 pounds in four months is unusual. But you will get to 100 pounds one day.
  17. We're waiting for you Jilly. Take care of yourself.
  18. My son flew in from Canada with 3-yr-old granddaughter. We were waiting for them at the airport at the bottom of the escalator. As they got on at the top, son says to her "There's Grammie and Grandpa". She looks down and tells him "That's not Grammie, that's Auntie T". Auntie T is my skinny minnie daughter. Did I mention she is now my favorite grandchild? :-) P.S. I went shopping for new jeans because I refuse to do baggy these days. I was shocked because I had skipped right over the size eight and am now a SIX. No way am I a SIX - but I am. (It's due to the freaky new sizing. When I used to weigh 20 pounds less than this I used to be an eight/nine)
  19. Go alone. You don't need the chaos. You will be fine. All the bariatric patients are together and you all hang out. I was going alone but family insisted daughter come with me. She left the next morning and I was alone after that. No problem at all.
  20. Ditto to all of the above. I was just there as a support person and it was quite comfy.
  21. So you claim he is lying? What evidence do you have to back that up?
  22. Is this what you used? www.mexicolapband.com Try aaceves@hotmail.com
  23. There is an ad on the right side of this page. It gives the number and will take you to his website.
