I'm on my first ten days. I did not like any of the powdered Protein supplements that you would add to the broth like powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury. So for the first ten days I'm basically going without the required protein. That's not making me happy. I don't suppose it is going to kill me until I can get to the point where I can drink my Protein shakes. Did anybody find something that wasn't just awful for the first ten days?

Wowie, zowie, I had fun. We gals in the Las Vegas area met up on Saturday for lunch. This time only four of us were able to make it, but we yakked like 40. There was so much to share. The women on this board are bee-u-tiful! It was VegasAngel, CYates, YoYoQueen and myself. YoYo is at goal and no bigger than a minute. You'd never know she'd had a weight problem. We each ordered little bitty food items and we still needed doggie bags. LOL We had so much fun that we are going to do it again.

I love flying now. I'm the person people WANT to have sit next to them because I have room to spare. I also have to tighten the seat belt every time I fly now instead of stretching it to its limits.

I haven't posted here in a while. It will be two years in May since my surgery. I am a happy, happy camper. Went from size 18 - 20 down to a size 4. I just had my panni removed two weeks ago and can't wait until the swelling is gone to see the new me. The reason I am posting is because I was quite old when I had the surgery - 65. It is never too late to begin your life again. The next 20 years will be full and happy ones.

So I didn't come home with enough Nexium for the next three months. Vegaslady graciously volunteered to pick up some when she is down there. I will run out before then though. Questions for my medial gurus out there: What does the mup in the Nexium stand for? Can't I get my PCP here to just prescribe it for me? I was taking Protonix prior to the surgery. Is that crushable? Would that work as well as the Nexium and therefore can be substituted? My insurance is paying for the Protonix.

Those presumptuous whippersnappers! A friend of mine, who is a psychic, recently told me I was going to live until 93. That might not have been the case if I hadn't gone through with the surgery. If you go back a page I posted a link to my current picture. Not too bad for a 66-yr-old broad if I have to say so myself. lol

One thing you need to do before you go is to contact your cell company. Even though we are mere miles from the border, it is international roaming. If you call ahead you can probably upgrade to a plan that includes Mexico and then go back to your old plan the next month. Otherwise it is $.99/minute.

I'm sorry. I haven't been here in a while. I'm not happy I was right. I just wish the word would get out before more people go to them. I'm disappointed these weight loss sites do no drop his ads. You are doing great. If you are feeling well, that was the true goal.

Bring your laptop. Connection is sometimes iffy, but you can bring some movies from home too. Don't bother with books as your concentration is off after anesthesia, but magazines are good. ipod good too. -

I'm feeling super great thank you. I would have gone alone to Aceves if my family had not thrown a fit. Daughter came with me but only stayed until the surgery was over and she left the next morning. But that is my personality. I did go with sister when she had hers and she needed to have me there, but that is her personality. You will be fine. -
Nope! As far as I can tell you get good or you get cheap. You don't get both.

Well good luck to you. I thought Medicare excluded the VSG. If worse comes to worst I had a wonderful experience in Mexico. Don't give up your dream. Keep us posted. -

Good for you! I am right there with you. I had my surgery with Dr. Aceves the end of May one month before my 65th birthday. With the pre-op weight loss and the loss since I am also past the 100 lb. mark. I'm shooting for a little more but it is more vanity weight than weight I actually need to lose. I look great and feel even better than that. Don't let age scare you off. You can do it and you will be happy you did. I figure I have at least another 20 years to go and I may as well feel good for those years. -

Good to hear from you. How are you feeling? Sis is having a bit of a struggle. I think she is being too impatient with her recovery. A lot of it is in her head. She feels as though she is starving herself because she eats so little. Oh well it is a learning process.
I'm not at goal. I have lost a bit more since Mexico but still have 20 - 25 pounds I want to lose. If I don't lose it, it will not kill me. I've done well. I don't post photos here so if you send me an email, I'll send you a new photo. travllady@hotmail.com.

Yes he is eye candy. I think Dr. Campos is cute too. Ernest had his surgery a couple of weeks before I did.
