  1. WOW, that's all I can think, I feel for you, you are in such pain! But, let me just say and I am not even banned yet, I am also in PAIN too! Just look in the mirror. That was the first question I asked my doctor. Can I have the band removed when I get to my goal wt.? He said yes, but it is proven that most will gain all and more weight back. I have over 100 pounds to loose! Maybe you were not ready for the band in the first place? Maybe you are HAPPY the way you are? We are all in pain in some way or another until we work and find the HAPPINESS we seek. I think you should wait like your Doctor said and give it a chance. HAPPINESS may find you before you know it. I wish you well. imaluckydog my date is July 20 and I am ready. It has been a long wait.
  2. Just a sec to talk about my journey to "Bandlandia" as some a coined it. I am so looking forward to underland or onederland soon. I think that means under 200 lbs. I need to take off over 100. Our hospital has us (LB and GBP patients) take these classes for 4 weeks in a row to prepare us. I feel they have been very helpful so far. Last week we discussed mindful and mindless eating which is what I do every day. I am now changing to be more MINDFUL. I have to drive about 45 minutes to 1 hour depending on traffic to the hospital for the hour and a half class. I hope the traffic will be light today. Ok, so I am up early today to send my son and honey off on a 5 day fishing trip. They drove away with boat en-tow. I am going to miss them. Daughter is still sleeping not waking her yet! It is early did I mention that!! I got up at 5:30 with the boys. They have been packed for days I did not have to do much for them. Now they are off and I find myself with way too much time and no laundry to fold.:crying: I am telling myself everything is going to alright. I have a hard time being alone with myself, I never thought much about it until now. I have used food as a friend and comfort. Now that I am thinking about MINDFUL eating... I am keeping my paw out of the cooking jar. As a matter of fact that cookie jar is GONE. LOL:rolleyes: I do not miss it much. I am now filling my time reading blogs and taking notes from people who write them. I am doing OK (great) on the 10 pounds they asked me to loose and have taken off 17. But not much has come off for about 3 weeks. Hope everyone has a GREAT day. I am going to keep blogging it helps. imaluckydog for sure

  4. Hi, I am also getting banded July 20, like many. Very excited, very nervous, learning new ways to love myself other than using food. Going to a second psych / nutrition appointment today. I have appointments of some kind, one a week until the beginning of July. I am going to be busy. Wishing everyone well on this life journey. imaluckydog that is for sure.....
  5. I love your blog. I can't wait to read every night. I had that suit once LOL thanks I am going to get movin and grovin too. imaluckydog
  6. I will try this one thanks imaluckydog
  7. It's a name? Anyone will do for me! Just pick one. I just want to be included. I am being banded July 20 at Lahey in Burlington Ma. It has been a long hard wait. Glad to be learning with the BEST. Thanks Julystars or July Stars imaluckydog :blushing:
  8. I believe..... I believe in you TOO!!! I believe when I get banded on July 20th that I never want to look back at all the numbers up, down, up, down only numbers. Keep writing I am learning with every blog. I just want to say THANK YOU for sharing. Our lives and your stories seem to be very much alike. You have a way with words. imaluckydog
  9. I second that motion!!!! LOL all the way to the barnyard.... Thanks, I'm not there yet but after reading your blog everyday I just can't wait for Bandlandia and my own adventures. You are by far the FUNNIEST and BEST BLOGGER. Thanks again, imaluckydog
  10. Started the first of four health workshop sessions today at Lahey with Dr. Lyle Kantor he knows his stuff!! He is Very educated and honest to the core. There may have been 18 or so people who are interested in LB or GBP in the class. These are informative sessions that one must attend before surgery. Talked about Mindful eating instead of what I do, Mindless eating. LOL I am looking forward to session two. I think Lahey does a nice job getting patients ready for surgery. I wonder if there is a follow up and support after surgery? Does anyone know about that? imaluckydog:thumbup:
  11. I just love your blog! It always moves me. Imaluckydog
  12. Wow you are an inspiration I also have 100 and more to loose was it hard? I have only told my husband and he is so supportive. I am getting my band July 20. I am in the waiting period. Thanks keep up the good work. imaluckydog cares
  13. You go GIRL!!! Love the Attitude. I get my band on July 20 My waiting game has just begun. I want to keep it positive. Good luck and keep us posted. imaluckydog
  14. I have found Lahey to be very nice so far. They have had to change my schedule a few times. That is a pain but for the most part everyone has been so nice and pleasant. This is a time consuming process from start to finish. I am now waiting and learning as much as I can from this site as possible. I have a July 20th date so this is very exciting to say. Hope everyone has as smooth a time as it has been for me so far. imaluckydog:thumbup:
  15. Hi, I have been following your Blog and that of Band Groupie for a few weeks now. I would also like help with recipes. Your writing is such a gift. May I please have a link to some of your tried and true recipes? I am just learning how to cook. Maybe we could have a recipe swap? I cannot read the lasagna recipe its to small and being new with computers my mouth is watering. If you publish a cookbook I would buy one. What do the numbers mean? I am guessing it is calories and carb grams maybe? Thanks so much, Kathy imaluckydog

Thanks for the info. Made for good reading. I will not be banded until 7.20.09 I am in for a long wait. I am just reading all I can to be ready. I do not want to give up my morning Java. What a bummber... I am worried about that. hum Keep posting I hope to hear you are feeling better soon. Best wishes imaluckydog
  17. Thanks for the help. I have found a place to log my food on line it seems easy as I sit at a computer everyday. It also helps me to keep my paws out of the cookie jar. I do not eat at the computer. I also want to have a weight loss day today and writing it down really helps me too. I just do NOT like doing it. At the end of the day I can see all my meals and calories so I have a record. I loose when I am honest with myself and the log. So for today I am shutting the hole in my face. I am eight weeks until my band date. It just seems so far away. Do you have any Broth or Stock recipes? I'm planning ahead. Thanks, imaluckydog
  18. Now I have a date and it just seems so far far far away to me. But just how far far far away is the NEW BIRTHDAY date? 7.20.09 Well July 20, 2009 is 55 days exactly away from today. I'm 8 weeks until LB. I am too lazy to figure out the hours and minutes. LOL I have so enjoyed reading everyones blog. I just figure if I start one then maybe my time will go by faster. At least it will keep my paws out of the cookie jar! I need something to help me control all those urges to consume mass quantities of food when I am alone and that is a lot of the time, amazing I am alone that much..... I find myself cooking when I am alone. I am roasting plum tomatoes as I write this...I am following a recipe from the food network. I love to cook but I have never made BROTH or STOCK so I know I am going to need help. I have made a few nice friends on this site and I hope that I can stay connected. The power of the computer is so interesting to me. I have this one favorite Blog I read everyday. She was banded a few months ago and has such funny stories I just look forward to reading everyday, I relate to her so well. We have offspring around the same age. Same almost everything it is scary. Keeping my mind open and mouth shut for today. I'm going to have a real weight loss day. imaluckydog

  22. Great work everyone. My birthday is July 18 and I was given a July 20,09 band date. Dr. has said I may get moved up in dates if there is a cancellation so I am just waiting. Trying to keep my head in a good place about all this. I need to get rid of 100 or more pounds. Good luck to all and Happy Birthday to everyone in July. imaluckydog
  23. You are right on about the head aches. I have had them. That is good advice to ween off before surgery. I will keep that in mind. Thanks imaluckydog
  24. Hi, You are a POET but I think you know it......lol I just LOVE COFFEE. That is my drug of choice for sure. Is coffee a no no when you get the band? Because of the caffeine? I could smell it all day long. Hope you are having a good day? I just had my son take some pre pictures. I did not want to look at them. But I did. Ok it is over now. imaluckydog
  25. WOW, this is making me have to think!!!! I am going to get back to you because I never thought much about what my life would be like when I got rid of this weight. I'm not even banded yet and I now have something to think about, Read about and plan for, it's about me now isn't it....... Thank you imaluckydog
