LOST 100 pounds in less than 1 year ;-)
This is a GOOD FEELING. Good Morning to all of my LB friends of the world. It is a very Good Good morning this one for sure!! I always wake up with a smile on my face since June 29, 2009, the day I was banded a year ago. Today my smile is 100 times BIGGER. Yes, The scale said 148 and that is well more than 100. But to me the 100 pound loss is triumphant. The last 5 pounds took almost two months to lose. Just hang in and follow all the rules and this tool will work for you too. I am living breathing proof. I will have a great day today!! Thanks for all of your support along the way. Best wishes to everyone. imaluckydog

Liquid Diet
We all will support you here. I always come here when I am alone and I know I have friends and many of them on this site. My journey is almost at it's one year mark. I cannot believe how fast a year has gone by. It is a very exciting time getting your band. I love mine and I have been playing very well with it and we have lost 99 pounds together. Now thats amazing!!!. I hope I will be able to say I lost 100 by June 29th. I am just trying to keep busy and keep my paws out of the cookie jar. Blogging helps with that. Best wishes to you on you journey. imaluckydog

What is the MEDICAL/SCIENTIFIC reason for the food progression after each fill?
I follow the rules and I have Had 3 fill's and 2 Un-fill's then another fill. I have always had 2 days of liquids and the 2 days of soft and then food I chew, chew, chew to beat the band. I have never been that stuck I had to go to the hospital. That is scary! I have found that it takes about 4 days after my fill date until I feel any restriction. I always need to watch what I eat on the 4 th day. I am coming up on my 1 year Bandversary on June 29th and I am 1 silly pound away from being a member of the century club. I love my band and have done all I can to Play well with it. Best wishes imaluckydog

starting over...
I will keep you in my thoughts. I wish you well. I had to have two barium swallows yuk it is not my favorite drink that's for sure. They found the problem and they will fix it. Just keep to the program and try not to let that head hunger get in your way. If another surgery is in the stars for you my friend all will go well. You have been there and done that before. Keep blogging and stay in touch with others who have had a similar journey. It sure a an amazing tool when it works right. It's not your fault and be positive and all will go well. Thinking of you. Best wishes imaluckydog

6/10/10 Century Club! *PICS*
BG, You have been the best person to take this LB journey with, I mean it Thanks for all your support of me along my journey. You have been so helpful and guiding, and FUNNY too!! It has been the best year of my life this LB journey. We have been very similar in our weight loss. I am coming up to my One Year on June 29, and I am sure I will be a member of the century club by then. I am working hard at it I only have 1-2 pounds to go. Now that I inherited a scale I am such a member of SWA. I need help!!! I need to stay off it!! I am so pleased at your progress in pictures. You were so smart to keep such a clear record. It is wonderful for anyone new to see just how amazing a body can change during this journey. I would not have believed it before LB myself. My body is now well into a size 12 and have size 10 in some clothes brands that are more roomier. Shear absolute Pleasure to walk into a store and be able to find something new to buy that I can fit into. I am adjusting to the smaller me but I have a very hard time when people call me skinny. I just have never thought of myself as skinny!! Any thoughts? Best Wishes I love you. imaluckydog Kathy Love, Life, Lilly and the Pursuit of Happiness

Succeed!! Be a Winner at Losing :-)
Succeed!! S = Set a goal. Not necessarily a "number" goal. Can be any goal. Like, I want to bend over and tie my shoes w/o holding my breath! I want to make it up this hill. Whatever. U = Use the tools available to you. Support groups, the internet, books, blogging and veterans....your band is not your only tool. C = Create a game plan. Make menus and schedule your workouts, etc into your week. C = Consider yourself. You know what your weak points and strong points are. You know what you can handle and what you can't. You know when your hungry/full/emotional.....analyze and consider yourself. Write about it. E = Eliminate excuses. If you're not supposed to eat it (sugars, carbs, chips, cookies, cakes) don't buy it. Do not "negotiate" with yourself (if I work out for an hour, I'll give myself a cookie!) or justify food (I'm on my period/I'm stressed). E = Excercise!! Working out gives you that little bit of added wiggle room for when you do break down and have sugar or something you're not supposed to. It also tones and firms, helping with excess skin. It is possible to be an unhealthy thin person. Do you want to be healthy or thin? D = Determine that you will SUCCEED! You're the only one that can make the changes you are making and stick to them. It's nice to have cheerleaders on the sideline, but they're not the ones that play and eventually win the game. I am two weeks away from my 1 year Bandversary. I have never been so excited in my life. I eat Real Food. Not too much and mostly plants with Proteins FIRST! I am now 2 pounds away from being a member of the 100 Pounder Club. I am psyched. I want to first Thank myself for being kind to myself and taking care of "me" for the past year when all I ever did was to take care of everyone else. I took care of me and everyone else survived as well. I want to thank everyone on this site who has helped me. The blogs I read are all so meaningful to me and most of all meaningful to those who write them. I always learn something. I love to write on blogs it keeps my paws out of the cookie jar. I am on my way out to enjoy this sunny beautiful thinner day. I am a 98 pound Loser in one year, Go me. I feel great! Best wishes to all imaluckydog

The littlest things...
I wish people would tell me I look cute!!! All I hear is LOOK at YOU SKINNY!!!! Now I will never be skinny in my head. I am not sure I like people saying I'm skinny. I never think of that as a complement. I think that cute is a complement. You go girl. Best wishes. imaluckydog

A little worried
I eat real food! Not too much. Mostly plants with Protein FIRST. Ok I do not choose to eat pasta and bread. But I have and I can eat it if I want too. Before I was banded my Dr. said to me you will never be able to eat the amounts you are used to eating now I was pleased with this thought. He said when you go out to dinner you will only be able to eat an appetizer portion. Now this is true. I can eat real food as a matter of fact I cook all my own foods and have been healthier for doing so. I am almost at my 1 year Bandversary on June 29!! I will be able to say I have lost 100 pounds I am so PSYCHED about this. Your body will want to make good food choices. Just follow all the band rules. Best wishes and always eat REAL FOOD the plastic stuff tastes bad. LOL imaluckydog

Feeling Great
I so understand eating with others can be so difficult at times. Just remember to take small sips at first No gulps and when it is time for food small bites and wait a few minutes between bites. I even use a smaller plate so it looks like more. I am almost at my year on June 29 and I feel and look GREAT. I went from a womens size 24 plus to a size 10 now that is amazing to me. All I can say is I have done the best I could and tried to follow all the band rules and it has paid off big time. I really think the hardest for me was NOT drinking with my meals. Oh and I still want to drink soda but I choose not too today. Best wishes to you. imaluckydog

Trying to Beat My DNA!!!
You are in recovery mode. Body does crazy stuff just after surgery. I recommend to stay off the scale if you can? It will not be your friend in the beginning. It took me almost 2 weeks to feel better after my surgery. Then 15 days after my surgery I was running around Disney World with my daughter. The energy will come back soon. Take it slow and yes pain is real during the first few weeks. Take the time to heal and follow all band rules. The hardest for me was NOT drinking during a meal time and I still want a soda today but I choose NOT to drink them. In one year I went from a size 24 plus to a size 10. OMG I am one year on June 29. Wow does the time fly by. Best wishes on your journey and blogging your thoughts is so helpful. imaluckydog

First Pig with wings to fly!!!
Best wishes to you on your journey. I am coming up to my year Bandversary on June 29. It is very excited and my body and life have changed so much in one year. I went to J. Crew and I am now a size 10 in shorts. I am down from a size 24 plus catalogs. I could never have bought anything from that store 1 year ago. Miracles do happen and dreams do come true. Just follow all the Band rules. Blogging is so good for me as I keep my paws out of the cookie jar. I also read and learn so much for others as well. Best wishes again and keep blogging. imaluckydog

Well the UNFILL has happened to ME!!!Never thought it would!
I had to have two Un fills in the course of two weeks!! I also beat myself up about it. But Boy did I feel better and free to eat more without all the side effects you mentioned. I think it is all about getting our bodies to the sweet spot and a change is so good. I was somewhat loose for about four weeks and I went back for an adjustment. I feel tighter again and I am having some gurgling. I still may be too tight. I am going to see if I can manage until my year is up on June 29 I go back for my Bandversary check. You have done so well. Best wishes imaluckydog

Lose Vs. Loose
Happy you posted, Good one!!! You gals crack me up...... Best wishes, I am a Happy Loser Lets give ourselves a hand. imaluckydog

What the heck...
Just keep following the rules. Your body does not like the changes and it is telling you. Keep doing all you can do to eat well and say active. You will go to sleep and wake up weighing less. Your body needs to adjust to these changes. You may not feel restriction for maybe 3 or four fills. It does take time be patient. The weight will fall off if you follow the band rules. If you have questions just ask. Best wishes I am coming up to my one year date and I have lost 97 pounds and it is staying OFF. I have been at same weight for about 2 months now and I am sooooo Happy. imaluckydog

back to the "band"wagon for me!
I hear the strength, your strength. I also need to keep focused. I have not been trying as hard as I should and you said a lot of what I have been thinking about myself lately. My schedule has changed and many distractions at home with a house full of college kids and their friends coming and going. The food is every where!! I feel my head is spinning around. I do need to focus on me again and play better with my band. It is up to me and me alone. Thanks for sharing it was so helpful to me today to read your blog. Best wishes imaluckydog

Not successful......discourag ed.
Yes, daily communication is so important. Be it reading or blogging. When I write it down I lose. When I eat small I get small. Look at what you are eating are you following all the rules? Old habits are hard to change. LB is a tool if worked with can provide joy and happiness. Good Luck on getting back on track. You just took a side trip so WELCOME ABOARD. Best wishes. imaluckydog

Questions??
Be honest and tell them you can only eat liquids before 2pm. Be honest that you PB after eating an egg. Be honest with yourself you may need to get an un-fill. Honestly, You may be too tight. I have been there and you do not lose if that is what is happening to you. I had a little removed twice and I have never been happier in my life. Be honest and work with your band. Best wishes imaluckydog
