Does being thinner make you look older?

Keep the focus on yourself! YOU LOOK AMAZING I know cuz I too have lost that much and why people feel they need to say things to us is beyond our control. The only thing we can control is ourselves. DO NOT let comments enter and stay too long, let them exit and with the fresh breathe feel you are the winner here and you have chosen HEALTHY most of all. You have also added 10 or more years to your life and you are living. At over five hundred pound this person is not living!!! YOU ARE so get out there and enjoy it. Best Wishes imaluckdog

    1st Post Op Visit

So HAPPY FOR YOU. You sound like you have a very good outlook on this journey of yours. I feel the Dr. is right on stay far away from sugar, candy, etc., it will just make you want MORE if you taste it. I had a short withdrawal from soda and sugar and it was well worth not having any more of it. My weight has just dropped off me. I have tasted pasta, chocolate and had a soda. I am one year out and I can now that I am skinny. But let me just tell you that stuff still calls to me and is like poison. I must be a sicko. I had my try and now I am back on my maintenance schedule and loving my new me at a size 10. What worked for me was to Remember to eat Real Food not too much mostly plants with Proteins first. No drinks with any meals worked for me too. I love my LB and I wish you all the best. imaluckydog

    With healing comes hunger?

Wow, I remember those days like they where yesterday!! Yes your hunger is real. Those of us who have been at this for a while now call it HEAD HUNGER. Drink your fluids in between meals it may help and as you have done follow the rules to the LETTER. Your attitude sounds GREAT! This is key. Stay positive and Happy the pounds will melt away. I have lost 103 pounds in one year and I had no idea it would go so fast. Best wishes if you have any questions I may be able to help. imaluckydog

    ouch first week post op

The gas will move if you move so if you can walk even around the house the pain will go away faster. Keep moving! But NOT exercising yet it is too early. It took me about 2 weeks before I was feeling myself again. I was banded the same day 6/29/09 one year ago. I am so excited for you I have had an amazing LB journey. I am in a NEW BODY and love it. I lost 103 pounds in this one year and you will have no idea how fast this year will go by. Please take it easy and take the time to heal yourself, as my Dr. said "you are healing from the inside out". Stay positive and I am glad to hear you have a daughter she will be supportive. Take care, follow the rules and if you have any questions on your journey I maybe able to help. Best wishes imaluckydog

    Advice...

You will be fine. May be tender thats all. I was running and I mean RUNNING around Disney World 10 to 12 Days after my surgery I felt GREAT. You will be fine. Remember to practice slow eating and chewing and swallowing now so it becomes a way of life. That will help. Best wishes imaluckydog

One Year Bandversary! I lost more than 100 pounds

We really are all in this together! For better or worse!! I must say mostly better. I had to have 2 cc's taken out today. My own inner stress causes my band to tighten up. Dr. says it is the soft muscles. I can go back in a few weeks and get a fill. This is the beauty of the band we can control it. Un like me being able to control my own eating before the band. I was always out of control not any more. I LOVE MY BAND and getting adjustments are part of my life now. Boy do I LOVE LIVING in my thin body. Thanks for all your support and Best wishes. imaluckydog

My first blog; my daily journal, perhaps?

Hi, Yes, you said it yourself you will "TRY" now that the first step. Keep trying and don't stop..... I would recommend getting off the SUGAR so no more sweet tea. Drink Water! You will have a day or two of withdrawal but you will not die. You will feel better for it and it is BETTER FOR YOU. Sugar creates food cravings. I would recommend following a weight loss food program or count your calorie intake if you really want to lose weight. The lap band is only a tool and will NOT work if you do not work well with your band. I recommend keep the focus on yourself, I know that may sound selfish but if you want to feel better about yourself and look better??? Cutting back on amount of food intake is what you need to do to lose. I hear you and you have an excellent attitude for this journey. By the way I will be on my one year end tomorrow June 29. I have lost 100 plus pounds and I will have my 30th high school reunion and I will weight exactly what I weighed in high school same size too 10/12. I am speaking from experience I have had many fills and many un fills and keeping in touch with your Dr. is very important even if he is 4 hours away. Follow the program rules and you will have huge success. Best wishes and if you need help I will gladly share what I have learned or can put you in touch with someone. Sounds like you want to start a plan. Blogging was so good for me and it still helps me keep my paws out of the cookie jar. Again Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog

KILLER AT LARGE: Why Obesity is America's Biggest Threat

I hear you!!!! I have not seen it but I will that is for sure. Have you seen Food Inc.??? it is another excellent food story we need to keep each other up to date on all these documentaries. Thanks imaluckydog
  19. I am so proud of you girlfriend ;-)..... Go slow and remember to take it easy. The pounds will fall off you when you are sleeping. For sure, I think you have a very positive outlook and you will need it. Things do happen quickly but when they don't you will have all the positive energy to fall back on. I remember going out to buy new clothes for the first time and being able to buy off the rack and not order out of a catalog. What Happiness!!!! You are doing so well I lost a ton before my first fill. By the third fill I was very tight. Go slow take one meal at a time and one day at a time and remember to smile as big as you can. This LB is our friend. Best wishes thanks for making my day!! imaluckydog

    First Stuck

I am a year out and I just had me some Papaya enzyme Great stuff it aids in digestion of proteins and stuck foods. I have it on me always. I have them in the car, in drawers, at work and next to my bed. Chew them slowly and let them melt in your mouth, they work with your saliva. As you swallow you will feel so much better. Everyone makes mistakes this is how we learn. Best wishes imaluckydog

    It has been done!!!!!

Happy Birthday and Congrats GF, I am sure you will smile as I have everyday now!! We have so much to smile about. Take the time to heal and pamper yourself in the beginning. Sleep is GOOD and it helps heal your insides. I always said I lost weight while I was sleeping you wait and see if it is true for you too? Take the first few weeks slow and wait and see how much energy you have. You will be amazed! Remember small sips and small everything from now on. Best wishes on your journey. imaluckydog
