Hi everyone!
Dixie: well it sounds like you are on the right track and even better if your insurance didn't tell you they have an exclusion... WELL THEN GET GOING GIRL! Do your research, decide, attend a seminar of a surgeon you like (and takes your insurance) then start the predetermination process...... Unless you are self pay INSURANCE is the number one hold up on dates... WELCOME!

Hi, from Connecticut
Dixie: as Kelsy said... its different for every insurance policy and doctor.. As a general rule here are the common tests.. (noting that you may have to do ALL or NONE) 1. 0-12 months supervised diet 2. Psychologist Evaluation 3. Nutritionist Evaluation 4. Upper GI 5. Blood work to make sure all your levels are normal and I'm sure many more that I don't even know about..... All my insurance required was a psych and nutrition eval.

I'm SOOO EXCITED!

Surgery Costs (INSURANCE PRICE)
WOW.... that might be a better way to go...... get the cash price THEN get it back from the insurance company....... Thanks for everyones imput. My annual out of pocket max is $3900 so I had planned that into my FSA... it's gonna be a tough year with that extra $150 coming out of my check, but it will all be paid for in this year tax free

mental evaluation
I had mine yesterday..... All my insurance requires is a letter stating that I'm of sound stable mind to make my own health decisions........ BUT, one place I called said they require at least 3 visits, the place I ended up with was a 3 hour visit, including an interview with him (and his intern) and then 567 True/False questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He said he'd try to get my results by the 25th............... oh and it cost me $200 out of pocket. (I tried using my Flex Spending Card, but it was declined so I had to put it on my personal card... but I filed for a refund yesterday)

Hey, banded veterans - What was week 4 like for you???
You are in the healing stage NOT the losing stage... and you don't have restriction right now.. so tell bf to back off (nicely). :rose: don't freak out... you'll be fine once you start feeling restriction.

First Consult is Tomorrow!
567 True / False questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YUCK Note to self: DO NOT SAY THE WORD "depressed" to a doctor of psychology!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to explain that I was DEPRESSED when I looked in my closet and found nothing to wear. I was only his 2nd WLS eval... so he was looking at me wide eyed... Thank the good lord that I am well versed on this subject because I ended up educating him and his intern on the procedure, and they both just looked at me wide eyed, shook my hand and said good luck with your procedure! LOL
