  1. First of all CONGRATS on your upcoming surgery! I also have Hypothyroid and PCOS.. so I feel your pain on that one. The nutritionist told me that both those are very strong strikes against anyone trying to lose weight..... This place is so chock full of advice, ideas, checklists, and experience... read, read, read. and post, post, post!
  2. LD: I think that the medically necessary means all the bmi and comorbidity mumbo jumbo that bcbs puts out in their policy.
  3. Meeting with the nutritionist is set for 1/22.... Looks like thats all I can do now is play the waiting game.
  4. Just got set up for my nutritional eval.. Jan 22nd! So... I guess I'm at a standstill until I get both these appointments out of the way.....
  5. thanks Audree for the pep talk.... I guess I just want it now because I'm ready now, and I want to be down in my skinny clothes by summer (for me skinny clothes means size 12) I will then focus on single digit jeans..... The carnation breakfast drink FROZEN sounds yummy
  6. gigi8... I know I must be sounding impatient, but dang it.. I'm ready now.. Congrats on your January 30 date! Keep us posted
  7. All I know is that here in KC they've been laying off!
  8. OK... on THIS PAGE look up at the top for the underlined word: introductions Click on it. then look for a box that reads "start new thread" Click on it. Write a little about yourself in the text box... (like you do here) and then click on "Post new thread" I hope this helps
  9. Congrats!!!! Oh queen of January 30th! I found out today that my insurance wants a psyc and nutritionist eval, but that is it. I'm waiting for the nutritionist to call me back and I managed to get my shrink apt for next Wednesday.... It's now looking more and more like Mid to Late February or even March, but atleast its progress RIGHT???
  10. OKKKKKKKKK Pysc Eval scheduled for NEXT Wednesday 1/17/06, I had to make several calls to places on my insurance network... one place totally ticked me off.. they were all high and mighty said I needed a minimum of 3 sessions, tried to tell ME what my insurance would want. I told them they were mistaken and that I would call my next provider on my list......... So the doc I did find, it is a one session 2 part meeting.. 1st in an interview and second is a pencil test. Said he should have results and letter to me by the 25th.......... cost of this is $200.00 but they are bcbs. Just waiting for the nutritionist to get back to me! P.S. I did call my company EAP plan. Unfortunately, they can't get involved with any letter writing.. so using them is out. (which is why I'm glad I went ahead and started calling places IN network) The places that were accepting new patients were either booking into the middle of February, or very demanding... (I'll be using my Flex Spending Account for the eval)
  11. On the main INTRO thread, click on NEW Thread and then it will be all you!

  13. Good News and OK news…. My docs office was on hold with my insurance for 45 minutes!!!!!! I do have to do 2 things….. 1) Phyc Eval with a Shrink 2) Nutritional Eval with a Nutritionist The doctors office gave me the name of the Nutritionist that they always use, I called and left a message for her. I called my company EAP to see if I could get a session with one of the Shrinks on the panel for this…. (THIS WOULD MEAN IT IS FREE) I need a letter from the dr. (shrink) going over my mental health history, saying that I am stable, and am able to make my own health decisions. She said once all this is done, they will submit to the insurance and get the approval letter………. I should be able to schedule surgery for about 7 weeks out. THE GOOD NEWS IS: NO 6 MONTH DIET!!!!!!!!
