I am excited for all our FEB bandsters.... I can not believe by the end of this week we will have several members banded!!!!! I actually forced myself to eat some steamed brocoli last night... (I am commited to try and incorporating veggies to my diet) I CAN NOT STAND COOKED VEGTABLES.. I pretended to like it so that my son would try it, and by golly he LOVED IT... dh said to "suck it up mom!" as he was smirking under his breath............ Oh and cabin fever has gotten the best of my boys......... they knocked down a wall in my kitchen on saturday and it was a trip to Home Depot for us..... I ended up bagging and dragging trashbags full of drywall out ot the curb all afternoon.. and let me tell you by that evening I was SOOOOOO sore!

Monday again.. I have not heard from my doc.... I do know that the nutritionist faxed her the letter on Thursday night, but the insurance guru does not work Fridays and she acts as a nurse on Mondays, so maybe tomorrow I will find out something.... I am on pins and needles here.

Good Morning all!!! Its SATURDAY. Joan: Like Sharon said we don't know each other but I've been keeping my eye on all the Dr. Malley patients since that kind of brings it closer to home for me.. I'm the first one in my real life that is having this done so it would be nice to have some banding bonding after we are all eating our tablespoon of refried beans! LOL I was really interested in your timing since the big difference is that Sharon is self pay and already scheduled where as I'm still awaiting insurance and Rachel told me they were already booking Menorah into March... I wish everyone well.. and I hope to be a FEB bandster, although it's looking more and more like March every day.

Fill is the action of injecting saline or salt water into the tube of your band, which is what causes restriction. Your band is installed empty and fills happen when you feel the need to be more restricted. Your doctor should of explained this to you.

FIND ANOTHER DOCTOR!!!!!!! NOW He is obviously bypass biased and not someone you want to deal with long term. Bypass is major surgery and a lot more money. He is full of it if he thinks you will only lose 50........... on a bypass you could lose 100 stretch your pouch back out and easily gain 50 back... Check out the threads on band AFTER bypass.... there is a reason.

Hey Carol! Glad to meet ya.. congrats on your bike and your band! I ride too....... been riding for about 9 years now... but I'll never forget the first time I took a solo ride after earning my license... life has happened since I got my baby,.... a divorce (easy split, he took his and I took mine) , a miracle child, a psycho rebound guy and past bf that thought my bike was their bike.... to where I am now... a HAPPY mom, with a wonderful guy who rides too.... it was so funny I met him on line, and I posted a pic of me on my bike.. and his first message was........ WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE! LOL His sister rides as does his brother in law...... The four of us have a great time......... What is so funny is the MY bike is the only Harley in the bunch.. Steve (the BIL) teases me about it unmercifully... but it is all good natured and they are good for my soul. WELCOME and I can't wait to JOIN YOU IN BANDLAND!

Hey Shannon........ have you tried the gas-x mouth strips??? thanks for the comparision... I've had 2 dnc's for miscarriage and a c-section... I remember waking up after one of my D&C's and telling my doc that I loved him... Glad to hear your doing so well!

I would say you are fine........ but one thing I noticed on your eating is that you meals of milk and carnation instant Breakfast are pretty high carb... FOR ME... I am VERY carb sensitive, and my plan is to drink LowCarb Protein drinks... or Hood Low Carb Milk mixed with some protien. Not saying this is what you should do, just an observation on my part.

REPEAT AFTER Lisa: THE FIRST 6 WEEKS ARE FOR HEALING! a. you have swelling b. you just had surgery where you were hooked up to an IV c. your band is EMPTY Don't worry... just stick to concentrating on healing and then by the time I have my surgery you can post the SAME ADVICE TO ME! LOL
