  1. Pregnancy is just like that! Banded or not- thats how you feel at the end. My advice would be to try your hardest to breast feed- its best for both of you. Be kind to yourself no matter what and dont be surprised when you look 8 mos preggers right after you have the baby. I had to wait until I was rested enough to go back to the band-so just do it whenever that is for you. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  2. My son is 15 months old and I'm still nursing. I too gained all my weight back- 110lbs. I got a fill on 3/12. My doc said there was no issue with the barium and X-ray during the fill. I broke my left wrist and got tons of X-rays for that- way more than the fill. I am losing slowly- have lost 20lbs since fill. I say talk to your pediatrician and have the ped and the bariatric doc talk and they'll get you filled ASAP! No need to wean to fill and lose! In fact, breast feeding will help you lose once you are filled! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  3. The worst thing that will happen is you'll get stuck. It's really individual. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  4. Don't panic! Have you even had your first fill yet? The band itself rarely does much of anything. You need the fills. For me the first one did a bit but I really did not hit the "sweet spot" until the second. The restriction is what makes it work. Until then, try to focus on nourishment- your body is healing! Exercise 4-6x a week and just don't give up! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  5. Not normal but not necessarily a reason to panic- may have made a small cut. I would check with your doc though. Eating when doing other things may be a no no. For me it's hard for me to pay attention enough to chew enough. That may be why you had the issue. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  6. I was hoping to add healthy chips in- sometimes that salty craving is hard to resist. The microwave ones are made without fat- I think. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  7. Also, exercise at tapping.com helps me with food cravings. It's about a 15 minute demo of something called The Emotional freedom technique -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  8. You have to find the inner resources to have some self discipline. If you can't , then no chips in the house. I like popchips and snyders healthy chips if I gotta havem. Also, make sure you eat enough Protein throughout the day and fiber- if you feel hungry and deprived you will have lower will power. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  9. Sounds gross- but make yourself throw up- bend down over the toilet (gravity helps) and insert finger. No fun but beats the misery of stuck steak -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  10. I have no problems with most pills. I have take one in the morning- I just drink hot tea after . -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  11. How can I help? -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  12. Am thinking of getting one- anyone tried it? -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  13. Definitely different- I can only hope that it's more about long term change as less the newness of it. Don't know -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  14. Mentally is the hardest part! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  15. I was partially unfilled but it effectively was like being totally unfilled. I gained back pretty much all my weight- but I was also 9 mos preggers. I lost about 40 lbs on my own after having my son. It took me over a year before I felt mentally ready to deal with the band again, so I was just filled on 3/12. I'm not the tightest I've been but I can only handle so much. I definitely have restriction now. I've lost about another 20lbs. It's still hard. I have another about 90 lbs to get to goal. Hard. Hard. Hard. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  16. I say that you should go for it- just keep in mind that you need to eat healthy and exercise too. You may want psychological help to deal with issues when you are not medicating with food. If you are ready to help you- do it! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  17. Water retention- from the hormones. Same thing happened to me and I had most of my full removed while preggers -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  18. I'm on my way! Just got adjusted on 3/12 when my son was 14 mos old, and am down 20lbs so far . Still have always to go to get to goal -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  19. I'd be happy to talk to you. I was banded in 08, got preggers in '10 and now have a 15 month old son. Cordelia Goddesscordelia@gmail.com -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  20. When you lie down, you retain Water. Happens inside too. Sooo- most are tighter in the am. Pre menopausal women also change tightness as hormones shift- bloatedness is not just on the outside -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  21. Here must ba someone else out there nursing besides me??? Buddy??? I am happily nursing my 15 mos old. Unfilled when preggers, just got a fill 1 month ago -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  22. Looks interesting but wasn't an option when I got my band- I know someone who has it and she is pleased -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  23. Do it, borrow it- it's totally worth it- I paid for 10% so your 20% sounds pretty good! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  24. Sounds good but my band is way too tight in the am for that -Cordelia, banded 1/08
