  1. I had an unfill in 7/10 cause I was preggers. Had baby 1/31/11 and had gained most of my weight back. ( I had lost 120lbs) . So, had a fill 3/12/12 and have lost back a total of 102lbs. Still going down! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  2. How's it going. I'm still losing and nursing! 17 months! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  3. It stands for productive burping- not sure who came up with that stupid term but it refers to when you expel particles and material that gets stuck in your band and the stuff that's in you pouch above it -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  4. Foamy stuff is mucus- body produces it to protect itself -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  5. It's hard to be patient at the beginning but the band is really only effective when you get your "sweet spot" fill. Might be the first or second. Just eat as healthy as you can. Your body needs those nutrients to heal. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  6. Ok- a little fact check here. If food gets stuck in your band and you PB, which feels just like vomiting, then there is no stomach acid mixed with the food so there is no damage to your teeth. You can mess up your band if you vomit a lot, right after you have surgery, but it's not that easy to do. I PB at least 3-4 times a week due mostly to getting distracted while eating, or sometimes, I'm just tighter than I realize. Also I let myself get too hungry and then I'm wolfing down food. I've had my band for over 4 years and my innards are fine as are my teeth. I don't plan it but when you're just living life it happens. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  7. I have mostly given up cheese- its tough though! My son becoming allergic sealed it cause we dont have it in the house now -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  8. Sorry if this sounds jaded- it has been 4 years for me- I've learned how to handle it quietly in the bathroom- took a while but glad I did -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  9. I had surgery 4 yrs ago. I had to have revision surgery when the band broke( not my fault) and the gained back most of my lost weight (130 lbs at best) and am now losing again (75 lbs). Nothing else I did made me eat little enough to lose. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  10. Oh no! I can only say- rest assured- they can do heart surgery in uterine- your baby will be fine! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  11. After my first year when I'd cough and cough to get something out- now I just do the unglam thing and stick my finger in my mouth until I "expel" what's stuck. Then it's usually back to liquids for the rest of the day -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  12. I wish it was tighter at night! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  13. They are pretty small- should be fine -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  14. I had to start mashies early. Talk to your doc. Also remember that the band may not help at all until you get filled so focus on healthy foods do you can heal! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  15. I try to always have home made hummus or bean dip to eat with "Marys gone crackers" healthy crackers or rice cakes, rice cheese, brown rice with veggies and broth... -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  16. You're still Not sleeping enough- so just do your best until you are getting better rest -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  17. I drink shakes in the am and lunch- cant get much solid down except bad for you foods like chips -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  18. Ummm....sometimes some of us get pregnant even when we are not trying! Sooo glad though! -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  19. This is an area where traditional medicine just sucks. My holistic chiro really helped me with hormonal craziness. You also may need to go off the pill and use condoms- that is what I did- migraines for me. Fat stores estrogen- so you get flooded as you lose. Don't give up- at the very least find a new doc. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  20. I had revision surgery (due to broken band- not my fault) in 10/09 and got preggers in 5/10. My original surgery was 1/08. I had lost a total of about 120lbs when I got knocked up. It was unplanned but welcome! I did gain all my weight back and am back working it all off again. 72lbs down, baby is 16 mos old. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  21. It has to do with lying in a prone position. It makes you retain water- something that happens internally as well. Retained water=tight band -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  22. Theater -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  23. Ive had beer, cocktails, and wine with no problem- just watch put- your tolerance will be lower from eating less -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  24. Having a baby is hard but worth it -Cordelia, banded 1/08
  25. Haha... Chia is super healthy and will not turn you into a chia pet. I also make home made cannelloni bean dip and eat it with whole grain crackers for a Fiber boost. -Cordelia, banded 1/08
