  1. Heather, not to be a thread stealer, but you look so damn cute in that giant chair! :tongue2:
  2. WOO HOOO Congratulations!! It only gets better gillie! Keep up the great work! You can do it, obviously you ROCK! :cool2: :tongue2:
  3. My grammas when I was 12 announced to everyone in McD's that I had on my first bra and it was a C cup! SO that would be TAME in my family! Yes, the complete and utter horror of it....:tongue2:
  4. Hell ya it is. And no one except us understands. My DH is 100% military disabled now, and will never be the same. I say all the time, I did my patriotic duty and gave my country my husband and was given back a broken down stranger. We can all stick together! :tongue2:
  5. WOOO HOOO! I am taking BOTH! TGIF!
  6. My story is like many others. I had spent a life of luxury on the "skinny side" of things until I had my second child in 2 years. My body had become my enemy and my metabolism was cruel. No matter what I did I could not loose weight and keep it off. I was miserable and felt like a stranger in my own skin. After countless failed diets, pills and gimmicks I had given up. And then, one day I took my young daughters to the movies. Not a place you would think you would realize you have to change your life, but it was for me. When I went to sit next to my daughter I couldn't fit into the seat, at all. I was horrified and at that moment it hit me while standing to watch the movie. I watched the rest of that movie sobbing, and knowing I had to find a way out of my fat self. I researched weight loss surgery and was convinced that I need gastric by pass. But then I went to Hurley Bariatric Center in Flint, where Dr. Farhan was insistent that I was too young, 29 at the time for such a drastic surgery. He told me about the Lab Band system and how I could control my weight loss. I was sold and began the pre op process. Now, I am more than half my size. I went from a size 30 a 4X to a 4/6 a SMALL! I no longer feel like a stranger with in myself, I am who I was and wanted to be! I am now even a model again, something I hadn't done since I was a teenager. I recently called Allergen to thank them for changing my life, and I was shocked when I gave them my stats at his response. The man on the other line thanked me, but ensured me that it wasn't just the band, that my hard work had paid off. And that is what makes the difference with the band, your commitment to changing you life. The band can work with you to become who you already knew you were, but it doesn't happen overnight!
  7. Congratulations Nigel! Thank you for sharing your story!
  8. yum.....can you pass it on?? :tongue2:
  9. Am--scars are nasty, very purple. I hate them! I was going to spend some dough and get some cream from the plastic surgeon but since he is going to have to completely revise me, what is the point? :tongue2: Plain--it is better, thanks. :cool2: Doesn't hurt now unless I bump it!
  10. EVEN *IF* you didn't get good enough information before the band, how about telling someone after you get it that you are getting sick? HELLO!
  11. Wow, the trolls are coming out in droves here lately. Can anyone else help me say WTH??? Ugh... Trolls please stop trying to stir up trouble a go away unless you have something sensible to say.
  12. lol Laura! Nothing new here really. Congrats Leslie!
  13. I am doing better thanks. This hunger though, sucks. I am back to protien bars to fill me up. :crying: My Dr does 1 day liquids, 2 days mushies and back to regular food. Not too bad. I usually have to take a few extra days of mushies. My body is very sensitive to fills.
  14. You know you love it. Especially from all of us!
  15. I can find lots of things that go for and against the lap band on the internet. I still choose to point out that you did not seek medical help, throwing up is a BIG problem, why the hell let it go on for 3 years? Please... I agree you were looking for an easy out. Well sorry the band isn't that! And for the record I have had the band for over 2 years now and THE only time I throw up is *if* I got a fill too tight, and I immediately would go back to the Dr to get it removed. Sorry you didn't take your life seriously enough to do that. I pray that anyone contemplating the band does read this and sees what complete crap this is! My life with the band gets better everyday! That smile you see on top is there for a reason, and THAT was 30 pounds ago! Your story is sad, but again I stress you made a choice to live 3 years that way. That is NOT the way my experience has been. My guess is you will not even have the guts to post here again!
  16. If any of this is true you have your own ignorance to blame. YOU CHOOSE to be too tight. YOU MADE THE CHOICE, not anyone else. YOU COULD HAVE HAD Fluid removed, but YOU DIDN'T. YOU have to live with the consequences.
  17. Ebony thank you for your kind words! It is an honor to be an inspiration, and I truly appreciate it!
  18. Awwww Shelley, I am so sorry! I am SURE you are NOT the only one! Is it that TOM? I know that kills me!
  19. Yes please do, so we can all avoid it! So sorry plain, but the scary myspace one you have is better than that thing! Hugs! lol...
  20. I am gonna call myself on the carpet with this one. I have NOT nor will I EVER give up my coffee. I did however cut down on the high calorie coffee drinks. I drink a McD's iced coffee 32 oz every morning and I am fine!
  21. I am posting to say Dr Doolittle has NOTHING on me.. 1 of our 6 guniea pigs is pregnant. PLus the 2 birds, 4 ferrets, 3 dogs and 1 cat with a 75 gallon fish tank. SOMEONE please help me!
  22. I agree Ann that they more than likely will not allow the band. He should go see a dietician if they haven't made him already. Good luck!
  23. Big hugs and kisses to both of you! I am actually doing very well and I am amazed at myself. I have actually lost 1 pound, without even trying! :blushing: Now, that being said I will stop loosing weight!
  24. lol....no there is some weird thinking Leslie, but hey if it works for ya! :blushing:
