  1. Check the folder they gave you the day of your pre-op testing .. the one that had the questionnaire we had to fill out for Lucy before the surgery the next day ... it's entitled Post-Surgery Diet. I bet you have it - if not, let me know and I'll take it to work tomorrow and scan and email it to you in pdf format.
  2. OKAY - FOUND IT!!! It was given to me after my pre-op testing and I never got through everything in that folder .. reading it all now.
  3. That's so true -- it gives us newbies incentive to know it can be accomplished.
  4. Well make a list so you don't forget! How is your new granddaughter doing?
  5. Nope, just reread my emails from Nina and Gaby and saw no mention of no more than 2 oz. in 15 minutes ... yet, like I said, I can't take in that much in 15 minutes anyway, so not a problem for me yet. It took me 3-4 hours to drink 4 oz. this morning.
  6. WOW how scary - glad your husband was there and able to call 911. Also glad you are okay now. WASa will have the answer to your question about the anesthesia that Dr. A uses ... I know he uses general anesthesia as well as a spinal block so that they don't have to use as much general anesthesia - at least that is my understanding of the reason. I'd never had surgery or been put under so I was quite hesitant, but I came through it with flying colors. Good luck to you. Also, you can always email Renee or Nina and ask them.
  7. Okay - guess I missed that first time around - better go back and reread it. Thanks.
  8. I take that pack, in the final post, it's okay. Thanks again!
  9. Thanks Alex (although I see it also changes your post if I quote it)
  10. Oh hun, I'm so sorry. Hang in there. (I know easy for me to say)
  11. Where did you see that 2 oz. every 15 min.? I don't remember reading that -- not that I can get in 2 oz in 15 minutes anyway, just curious.
  12. Well I asked Bob to please quit smoking (he needs to anyway) and he has said he wanted to so this is a good reason and as good a time as any.
  13. Did you look for those marshallow mud pie bars with only 1g sugar alcohol -- they are absolutely delicious I'm telling you
  14. Oh you don't have to worry about that ... they just slip right out no effort at all ... sorry to be so graphic ... I can't believe it hasn't hit you yet even with the small amounts of fluids ... I haven't been able to get in all of mine yet either. Maybe we should melt a popsicle and see how many ounces are in one of them ... they feel really good on my throat right now.
  15. I agree with you 1 MILLION PERCENT!!!
  16. WOW - that's fantastic. Way to go.
  17. Is she "pampered" like you? Think Dr. Aceves can handle it? (Sorry, just couldn't resist - hope you don't mind)
  18. I know there must be a way to set your default font/color for posting/replying; however, I'm apparently not in the proper location to do that ... how is that done, please? Black and Verdana are just too boring for me
  19. I haven't been able to drink any of them just on their own. Too much of an aftertaste
  20. Sounds yummy ... I'll give it a try when I'm on full liquids ... I have the EAS Vanilla and it's great in smoothies and such ... not so good on it's own though.
  21. I checked that book out - I don't like it - not going to order it. I love fruits and veggies and I think between my knowledge and this site, I'll figure out what works best for me and go with it. Thanks!
  22. Okay - everytime I try to lay down - even with 2 pillows, I start getting a tickle right at the top of my esphogus to the point it throws me into a coughing spell and then I start gagging on phlem ... last night I slept practically setting up and that helped a little, but I felt even less rested then morning that all the others since I've been home because I'm only able to sleep at max 2 hours at a time. It just happened again and it was a bad bout this time because I started gagging really bad and nearly threw-up ...has/is anyone else experience(d) this and, if so, what did you do about it ... It doesn't seem to happen if I am sitting or standing, just when I try to lay down. It's NOT fun and I keep thinking I'm going to do damage to my suture line.
  23. Okay I went in to CHAT - got a big white box - nothing more - wouldn't allow me to type ... what am I doing wrong?
  24. That's what I meant - that is the page I had bookmarked to check out. Thanks WASa
  25. Maybe I'll try that one and if I don't like it I'll mix it with the mxed berry Jell-O and make more shooters
