  1. Hey B_G - I wanted to let you know that I posted a link to your blog on the lapbandforum. It is another forum. I am a member there and thought I would turn some fellow bansters on to you Goal Limbo post. ~MyNewLife~ suggested it. She is full of great ideas! LOL

Anyway, I wanted to let you know we are pimping you out. Ha!

  2. I beleive "limbo" will have a stick and stay power around here! Very good my friend, very good. I am far off from goal yet, but I know you and JayTee are approaching the Limbo zone....heck Jay Tee may already be there! Keep up the good work, you will get support from my end! Let's go bunnies!!!!

  3. Elizadolittle - I am happy to see you post. Living with the band is a learning process. We adjust over time and life changes. I am glad to hear you have gone in for an adjustment!

Sorry to hear about your pain. I hope that it gets better and dissapears all together!

  4. I am actually suprised he didn't give you a small unfill. Goes to show you all surgeons are different. What is normal for the surgeons I see is a unfill and liquids.

Glad you are taking his warning seriously, a band slip is not fun. Hang in there and mix up your liquids so they don't get old. Before you know it the two weeks will have gone by.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, learning to adjust our eating and change our unhealthy habits is the hardest part of getting the band.

  5. That is a bummer! I had to loose 15 lbs for my surgery and that was difficult for me. Yes, it was! I am a self pay and went to TJ, MX and had Dr. Ortiz do my surgery. Was a snap and cost a fraction of what it would have in the states. Not to mention he is VERY good at his job and is one of the top lapband surgeons in the world. Can you tell I liked him....LOL

  6. I think it could be several things. Personal preferrance, it may be hard for us to understand, but some are attracted to a bigger sized person. Insecurity maybe....

Sorry to hear about your man friend. Have you asked him why he feels that way?

  7. How much of a fill do you have in your band? Sounds like you are overfilled and need to take some fluid out of the band. A good fill will allow you to eat food. Not being able to eat is a good indication you are needing a unfill.

If you are that restricted and do not have any fill in your band I would recommend a few days of malox and liquids to give you band some time to calm down. Sounds like you could be swollen.

  8. Even though my fill story is different it is still similar. I feel ya! I have had 4 fills. My band in a 10 cm 4 cc band, and it is filled to 2 cc's. I do have restriction and am starting to loose some weight. For a while I was not loosing lbs but inches. Being at the beginning of my lap band process, this through me for a loop. Inches but not lbs in the beginning?! Nothing like being different than everyone else.

My band was placed on April 24, and since I began, I have lost 35 lbs. I am happy and as long as I don't compare myself with others it feels great. Not compairing myself has been the harder part. (Which I would have never guessed I would have had that issue.) I guess seeing others melt away, while I stood still was a hard pill to swallow.

Your weight loss has been great! Glad you blog!
