I have already lost over 20 lb and praying I don't lose it before I got a date... now with pre op and losing another 10lb on top of that wow great start to a new life... and I won't yo yo back.......... Sweet. I am so excited to move on with life and reclaim my health before it spirals!!!!
  3. This is the time you start implementing changes in your diet and exercise, or to introduce new habits and begin cutting out the bad stuff...The time to show your commitment to change your ways So use your nutritional counseling to get into position with knowledge about things you can do today to make a difference and how you need to eat after the banding etc. It can be a great education.
  4. congratulations on your approval!!!!
  5. from what I know having thyroid problems Soy is not good for you if you have that...... I have tried Vanilla Almond Milk and it is really yummy.... maybe the nutritional stats are bad though ...LOL My daughter had a bit of it a couple of months ago and I tried it.
  6. First things that came to my mind are Anemia, have you had your iron checked and B vitamins? have a blood test done to find out about any deficiancies. Also are you chosing the right foods for energy or eating something you may be allergic to is sapping your energy. Depression? Lots of things that could be checked and it may be a simple solution. I hope you nail it down and feel better.
  7. I am not interested in therapy, just an awareness of what doesn't agree with me... sometimes I am aware and some times i am not. Some foods if you are allergic to them will produce more mucus in your body. or discomfort it doesn't have to be a severe allergy. I was lacto vegan for a few years and felt very good, I was healthy. After marrying a carnivore that went out the window LOL. my chiropractor also uses applied kinesiology to find allergies to foods and meds.
  8. I was reading an article recently about food allergies and weight issues, how we crave the food we are actually allergic to... it could be that since you have probably eliminated many foods from your diet your are hearing your body on this food??? I have always wanted to do the allergy testing so I called my insurance the other day and they cover the testing and visits but injections at 90% So I am going to see if that helps me out..... My luck is that I am allergic to wheat and things that are in most foods.... I know that since I cut most of the caffeine ( I am drinking decaf so it has a small amount) My breasts don't hurt anymore. so there is something to be said about all that. My thinking is if I find out what the allergies are then cut out or really restrict those foods the weight loss should be even easier and then to maintain later. just being aware will be helpful.
  9. I am curious after reading about the various Bandsters saying their bands slipped etc , or have even suggested they are concerned that their band has slipped. Did your surgeon sew it into place to prevent slippage? One surgeon I talked to said that they have almost no slippage since they began that practice. Anyone want to chime in? Thank You
  10. I just got my approval this AM from Aetna, I am 15 lb currently under my starting weight which had me at 42 BMI now like 37 BMI ..... Not a problem. no comorbidities
  11. I know what I am GOING TO DO for entertainment..... Hike, raft, and rockwall with my kids. ;o)
  12. Carrie, you should not have to beg them or pester them for them to be attentive to do the right thing... move on from them.
  13. LMAO.... I wish I could just laugh it off and my belly too!!!! That was too funny! Thanks
  14. You know I was on the fence for a while and told myself, Oh I will just change for a different fill dr ... It was stressing me out. So I spent a couple of days on the phone looking for a new dr. Picked one and I am happy I did, Put my mind at ease knowing I would receive great after care. And I have a great surgeon! take the plunge don't settle, you will feel better.
  15. I guess you went where I went LOL Good you ran too!!!
  16. I know it is a pain but I had problems too and I have changed too BEFORE surgery. Most Surgeons don't want to deal with anothers handy work. I am very happy with the offices I chose the second time around.... yes it has delayed me a bit but this is a life long relationship. Think hard about it and your future needs. It is not just a few month commitment.
  17. Thurs the surgeons office told me that Aetna wants to talk to him ... makes me nervous... So this week they are scheduling him a time to talk to them.
  18. Way to Go KartMan !!!!!!!! That is so cool!!!!!!!!!
  19. I so hope you get approved, I know how you feel. I am waiting right now... It is so hard.
  20. I have aetna too and I am waiting......
  21. I am a 1st aid / cpr trainer as well and I can't imagine having to deal with all that while teaching! you are a trooper!!!
  22. I belive the lapband.com site has journaling and the realize.com also.
  23. Thank You !!! And why is my gas over $3 a gallon NOW. I agree... we should have been investing in alternate sources of energy vs a war that has messed up so many young soldiers and their families and our financial future..... STUPID DECISIONS THAT HAVE COST OUR NATION DEARLY. I expect to see many more vets of a much younger generation on our So Cal streets begging..... this is how we thank our military for their service. So where are the WMD.... bunch of BS And do ya'll realize WE the USA are not the ones who found Sadaam hiding in the hole... it was set up to make us look like the heros. LOL
  24. I can't believe it ... Patty are you joking.... LOL I always said part of this attack is about the oil.... but then again I am with the thought that Sadaam Lynching was all about Papa Bush and Jr wanting to prevent Sadaam from talking about Papa Bush in the up coming trials... I believe Bush and his cronies should be subjected to the international court and be tried for war crimes, then if found guilty they can be executed . Maybe Bush will be foolish enough to take a vacation outside the country so some country can scoop him up and bring him to justice. Think about inmates in our country on death row... how many years of appeals etc.... come on and at an important Islamic holiday time... talk about creating more unrest so we have reasons to fire our weapons..... with this war we are not safer we have created more terrorists!
