  1. Hi Kids Forgive me if I miss some responses...I had to read 3 pages to catch up on two days... JC-You are a giant big 13 yo kid. Hopefully searching for boobies and drinking beer is behind you, but we know you'll make some dumb ass, dangerous decisions about jumping off of roofs or something else extreme. I have faith you're doctor is going give you the all clear. Please give us the full story once you know. D- Bitch ass nice neighbor, giving you a cake for you daughter. Don't you love that cake and icing just doesn't have the same draw or appeal it used to have? HP- Are you able to workout inside? Getting outside is horrible in this weather. Well, in your weather. It's been nice here. BG You're a mess! What's going on? A poop sandwich? That's pretty ikcy. Okay, here's a fun vacation bike story: The GF and I make plans in the evening for the next day's activities. Tuesday we said we'd bike again, the same trail, it's paved, by the ocean, on the dunes....well we woke up to a misty fog and the potential to a drizzle....so what did we do? We went to the bike shop and rented a TANDUM bike!!!!!!!!!! We rode to the dunes, which took a bit of conversation, considering we nearly fell off the bike the first two times we tried to get on. "Pedal", "coast"..."Bump". Then it rained, but we kept on riding, laughing the entire way, up the hills, down the hills...it was HELLARIOUS! OMG. We would have never done that a year ago. Today we leave the cape but we are going to spend the day on the beach. Tomorrow we fly home from New Hampshire. Glad to see everyone is doing well. OH, btw, I've been eating like a freaking horse, like I did pre-banded. A bunch of wine too. Heaven help me when I hit the scale, on Saturday. Good think I see the doc on Monday.
  2. Hi everyone, guess who has internet access in her lesbian owned B&B??? I need to call Pamela about grabbing coffee tomorrow.... Eddie, Fantastic NSV! You've got to be stoked! Newbies-welcome. We're a happy little group here. XO
  3. Hey kids, D, btw, cool on the 32 mile ride. That's amazing. We rented bikes today and rode a solid 2 hours, though I can't tell you the milage, we didn't have an odometer, but we were on hybrids going up and down hills with the wind forever in our faces...it was rough, but so fantastic! I actually had to walk my bike up a few hills..I NEVER walk hills...I don't know if it was the grade, the bike or my fitness level. but whew. To answer, Zoe isn't here. It's only me and Alison..the B&B is cozy, the town is friendly, we've been having all kinds of fun. XO J
  4. Hey I have wireless internet in my B&B, so I'm poking my nose into LBT. HP, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You rock Chica! You are fantastic! D- Sorry to hear you're not going to LasVegas, but I understand the desire to get a new bike. I don't blame you a bit. Can I say we are having a fantastic relaxing time. We just got back from the beach. OHHHHHHHH there's a ride across MA that started yesterday, and they came through Provincetown today! It's very cool to see all the riders. We are renting bikes tomorrow and traveling through town and an 8 mile bike route. I'm not counting calories this week, but I'm trying to be good. And the other thing, I called my Surgeon's office and made an appointment for a fill on Monday the 13th. It will be my first. I got my band 5 months ago and I think I really could use the support of a fill in my band. More later, J
  5. Las Vegas Road Cycling Day Tours - Tours of Red Rock Canyon and Mt. Charleston Look what I found.
  6. Awe, D. You're husband sounds like a fantatic man. I'm sure he is! Having someone to share the biking with is a real blessing. I'm thrilled my honey is equally in to it. BTW, the Vegas trip is going to happen MLK weekend and we are going biking on Saturday. I have to rent a bike, so I'll be eating your dust no doubt. You'll be able to bring yours! Hope you head feels better. I know what you mean about avoiding pills...I do the same.
  7. Good luck with that. I picture you having a temper tantrum with your bike and I worry about the little girl. Just kidding.... I hate the personality clashes that can happen with kids. Mine is rough and tumble and the quiet little girls and Zoe don't get along so much. Zoe has such a tender heart...I hate it when the snotty girls are mean to her. Heaven help me when she realizes she's twice as strong and beat the hell out of them... Oi
  8. Hey gang. I just wanted to say I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow. We are going to Cape Cod. What is curious though on a different thread on LBT, another person I chat with is going to be there at the exact same time. She's from California and I'm from Ohio! She and I are going to have coffee one day next week! Isn't that a hoot?! It's a small world. On another note I'm fully into my third week of plateauing and I'm beyond frustrated. I'm hoping it was due to the stress of being school with an excessive load these last 6 weeks. (Today is my last day. WOO HOO!) I couldn't hit the gym as regularly and I've eaten better, so vacation is a time to relax and get into a better space. When I get home I'll hit it like I'm new at being banded. XO
  9. BG- I will hold you to the offer to pay when you win tonight! Maybe you can bike out there. That would be cheaper! JC- I know your pain about car payments. I hate 'em too. Now if I could get rid of the mortgage payment. perhaps I should play mega millions too!
  10. GO TO BED. You said you are tired. Catch you on line tomorrow. Mother Hen is now leaving.
  11. I only speak the truth, JC. I know Deanna is talking about going to Vegas, I wonder if BG and HP can do it too. I'll tell you here, it will probably be MLK weekend in January, not February, because of the 3 day holiday...I can't do President's day in Feb...and I'm planning this bitch so I'm going. I am planning on doing a bike ride there that weekend too, btw. Awesome.
  12. JC- My Man! We're firming things up here and should be good with dates real soon. Girls, he's single and fun!
  13. JC, Sorry to hear about the car giving you fits. The 10th does seem like forever from now, but you'll make it. Aside from not sleeping how are you feeling? HP- You are so stoked for the ride. Like D I'm feeling the vibe coming off the screen. One more day of work. I've only got a little more to do for school and my 6 week session from hell will be over.......... I can't wait to see the ocean, be with my honey, be out of town........................ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
  14. Today was write the 20 page final paper day. I didn't exercise because I needed to write. I've got the kiddo tonight so there was no big bike ride. The goal is to work out during lunch tomorrow. But this is two days in a row with no work out. Herumph! I leave on Saturday for vacation..but fear not, there is wireless access in our B&B and I'm taking my lap top. I'll be checking in. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhh I'm on a different thread here the LGBT thread, and a woman on there is going to be in PTown when we are so we are going to have coffee!!!!!! Isn't that a hoot!?! They're coming from California and just by chance we are going to be there at the same time, so she and I talked last night, exchanged cell phone numbers and are going to meet. I think it's so very cool! Of course I'll tell you all about it.
  15. You know I can strap 'em down, but the still move as a unit, I didn't really notice until I was riding at dusk and had my sunglasses tucked into the neck of my shirt....I was riding and they bounced up and down...
  16. Now how am I going to answer that and still be all sexy for JC? No, my stomach doesn't get in the way, but getting sweaty under the pannis is gross. With all the powder I use, and the heat, I could bake biscuits! Really, what's annoying when I'm hunched over is my boobs jiggle a bit too much. I'm thinking about getting the arm rests for my handle bars. They look so nice and my hand get so tingly, but that has me hunched. I don't know if I can handle the boob thing. Touring bikes are road bikes with saddle bags and not all that concerned with weight. Racers are road bikes that are as streamlined as possible and as light as possible. At under $1500 I don't believe they are that different. When you get higher up in the price they are more specific. I think.
  17. D Long country rides are fantastic. I think they have road/touring or road/racing. The bikes are similar but what you add to it and the types of shifter etc. are the differences. Mine is just an entry level road bike with cheapy shifters...as they get fancier, the smoother that move, the more expensive they become. You are asking questions that's stretching my limited knowledge.... I know someone took my same bike and raced with it. (I read a review on line.) I'll probably change out the gears next year to a step up or maybe two, because the frame should still be good and I'm going to want to spend the money. Ha!
  18. hey marchies, hope on over the august thread!
  19. JC does that get you anywhere close to Columbus Ohio? If so I'll have to buy you dinner.
  20. Lucy Not to be contrary, but I didn't notice the hair loss until about 4 months out. I eat about 100 grams of protein daily too. I'm not too worried about it...well maybe a little. I was told it could be a reaction to the surgery not what I am eating. My nails have a funky ridge in them too about half way up the nail bed. I expect that's from the surgery too.
  21. Eddie Two great minds... BTW, Kity aka Pamela and I talked last night and are planning on getting coffee in P-Town next week. I just wanted to say thanks for putting this thread up, I would have never had the opportunity otherwise. Now, if she or her partner are psycho and we come up missing, you'll be fully blamed! HA!
  22. Marc HI! Your questions are fine. So you've thought about this for a little bit, huh? Let's see, I'm nearly 5 months out from surgery. My hair is thinning, but that's normal from the surgery, apparently. It's supposed to come back. My fingers are crossed. The excess skin will get cut off and donated to science. I'll have plastic surgery when I get to goal. As for sex, I'm partnered, and she loved me at 300+, she loves me as I lose. But the skin isn't sexy. However, the new found stamina, flexibility and zeal makes up for any distractions it may cause. My drive has increased, but it's always been high. Poor GF. I've not had any eating disorder issues. Some people replace food addiction with other addictions like sex with strangers or shopping. I don't do WW or OA, I come here for support. I like the price tag here. There's a straight girl with cool politics on here JulieNYC, who might be a good resource for you. The port isn't obvious. I can feel it if I push. I've only thought one time I was hurting it while exercising. I was doing an incline leg press and my fat rolls were all bunchy and my iPod was hitting the same area...don't fret about the port. I react with "awe shucks" and "thank you!" when people exclaim about my weight. If someone has serious, "how you doing it" questions I'll talk to them otherwise I'm vague. When dumb asses ask "how much have your lost?" I tell them I don't share that number! I tell them the percentage of what I have lost to what I want to lose. Like now I'm at just under 40%. And if I'm feeling really playful and someone asks, "Are you losing weight?" I ask them, "what does it look like?" I might twirl or something at the same time. (Femme lesbian here.) The boys might be able to give you some gender specific insights too. Fellas? Ask more....
  23. Take a deep breath and get back on the wagon. Falls happen, it what you do to get back to eating well that will define your success. You'll find falls will happen less frequently with time... Be kind to yourself.
  24. D Awesome ride! You're rocking chica! JC I hope you got some shut eye.
  25. This wanna be is lurking. Thanks for the insights. I'm working on my MBA and hope to fit the profile in a few years. Julie, I always enjoy what you have to say, btw. You add so much to this site.
