I just found this thread... I'm scared of worms. I get the cold sweats after a rain and I have to step around them. Ugh. Unclipped toe nails gross me out. I don't watch much TV because it will suck me in and never let me go. I'm the conservative one in my family, but my politics are liberal and I'm a way out lesbian; the others are just bigger freaks. I suffer from YPIP. You puke-I puke, nice to see I'm not alone. Touching poop will freak me out. Wasa, you win. I'm not particularly artistic but I scrapbook other's pictures professionally, when I have time, like before I started back to school full time. People have always told me I'm pretty and I'm actually starting to believe them, I'm nearly 40. What a bitch ass long time that was to learn that?! :confused:

As I type I'm wearing very out of style size 24 jeans from about 5 years ago. I was telling myself I can struggle though the unstylish part, but now I'm finding the doubtful. Perhaps it's the motivation I need to get into 22s or 20s more quickly. :confused:

Just to point out, there are as many people for whom this surgery works as for whom it doesn't work. Lapbanded people hit the bell curve like any group of people the majority are average losers, some are better and some are worse. If you're sampling only the people here you're going to find more successes than not, because the people here are tuned into their band and work hard with it to lose the weight. (WE ROCK!) Just so you know. Don't let LBT skew the reality of how well the band works.

Buying scrubs doesn't count as doing something for yourself! Get some earrings, a manicure, a new purse, sleep an extra few hours, take a long bath, read something fun, do your husband, get your eyebrows professionally waxed....

I was inspired to change my ticker thanks to D and BG. I'm annoyed that the current numbers clash with the autumnal orange and brown I have going on.

D- If I could I'd help clean the house. You'd be on your own for the studying and the sex stuff, regardless of how close I live. I've got homework to do and my house is a mess too. I'm two weeks away from seeing my SO, I'll be itching by that time too!

Are you a last minute planner or do you need lots of lead time? I can go either way. The girls hanging out and the moms hanging out seems like a reasonable reason to me too. I leave the googling of Toledo to you. Maybe there's something worthwhile happening there in the next few months.... Also, I'd have Alison make the drive so there'd be that as a bonus too.

I'd ask the bridal party where you might be able to borrow someone's stuff. If that's not doable does anyone in you family sew? To get a corset worth buying takes months. To make one yourself or have it made takes a little time and know how. Or you can go to a cheap lingerie shop and see what you can find, put that with a full long skirt and a peasant blouse and you'll close enough to the part. What about DH and the kids? Do you have clothing for all of them? And woo hoo on the big check. NICE

Uh, I have a confession When I play who’s the biggest nerd contests I typically place pretty well with the tidbit that I was once a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. That’s a Renaissance reenactment group. And I have been to Renaissance weddings….I have made corsets…Oh I know it well. So Wenchy McWench, you have a good time with that. And yeah the right corset can give an 8 year old boy cleavage.

JC I just got here. I've actually been doing a little work at work, in the kitchen. Do you all realize I work in a mother effin kitchen?! Tracy, As for the pound police, I don't tell people how much I've lost. I tell them I'm nearly at 50% of what I want to lose. Or whatever the percentage is. And I thank them kindly for their interest, and even I thank them for letting me go on and on about myself.... But now most folks know now not to ask and tell me I'm looking good. Okay, I also give them a little story about why I don't tell. It goes something like this. "I'm scared to death that if I tell what I've actually lost someone mean is going to say, 'you've lost that much and you're still that big?' so I just keep it to myself." Typically they'll go on to mention a few people who might be that rude, or they say they'd never do that...It's cute and makes people laugh. So figure out what you want to share and what not and stick to your guns. And YOU LOOK GREAT! I saw your recent pic and was completely blown away!

I hate my job. I know that's traditionally BG's role to play on here, but holy crap. My people don't have 8 hours worth of work to do in a day but still they try to do as little as humanly possible so much to the point where one dude just lost his shit, and I had to talk him down so I wouldn't have to write him up for storming out of work. What sucks is that he's right. He works harder than the rest and he got pissed. So he started yelling at his supervisor who started yelling back. And shutting her off is close to impossible while I'm like dude, be pissed, but tell me what you are doing and where you are going...so you don't get written up. Ugh.

I'd ask: Where exactly can you expect your scars to be? What kind of support garments will you need and should you go buy a few extra for laundering purposes? Will they send you home with more than one? Can you get your pain med perscirption ahead of time so you don't need to have it fetched after the surgery? When I had a breast reduction, I wish I had a better clue where they were going to but my nipples...it sounds funny, they aren't on my back or anything but they are higher than is natural. If I'd known I would have asked for lower placement. If I think of more I'll add them. You know the whole board is going to be a'twitter on the 9th sending you all kinds of good JUJU.
