what a coincidence. I also work in a male dominated field. I'm a gold miner for the largest gold company in the world. I'm the only girl on my 80 man crew. Also, we sued our jr. high so I could play jr. high football. Just thought this was kind of funny.

Is it just me or is the fact that some African Americans think it’s ok for them to say certain words that white people aren’t “allowed” to say? What would happen if a white person got on television and said “these specific words are not allowed to be said by African Americans”. Does anyone think that would cause another controversy? I’m positive that it would. I can just hear it now from stupid race-bating Al Sharpton’s idiotic face “Why are black people not allowed to say these words, that’s racist”. I’m not saying he didn’t deserve to be fired, only because any corporation has rules. I mean just because you are allowed and it is legal to drink at home doesn’t mean you can drink at work. And the same goes for saying whatever you want. You are not allowed to do that at your job. The thing I think is stupid about this whole thing, is the big deal they are making out of it. I mean really, how is this going to affect these Rutger girls? Is it really traumatizing or life-threatening? It was just offensive. That’s it. I grew up in an all Mexican neighborhood and I had blonde hair and blue eyes. Yet my twin brother is very dark skinned and has black hair and brown eyes along with my full Mexican mother. (my father was full Irish) . I cannot even tell you the names I was called growing up. I was the stand-out and got attacked while growing up because I was white looking. Racism goes both ways. I’m over it. Yes it hurt my feelings and I cried but doesn’t everyone get teased growing up and at other times in your life? Actually it was a joke. No matter how un-funny people thought it was. Just because someone says a joke that doesn't go over well doesn't mean it wasn't meant as a joke. Has anyone here ever seen the movie School Daze by Spike Lee? If you have, and you heard the coversation that Imus was having with his producer at the time, then you probably recognized that they were quoting the movie school daze. I think there is a thread somewhere on this message board exactly like that right?

thank you all for your support. I never realized how common cases of kids eating stuff like that was. So many people have come out of the woodwork to share their similar stories. every emergency room nurse had a story involving their own children/grandchildren in very similiar situations. Yes what medication is left in the house is not only under lock and key but even out of my immediate reach. (i'm very short anyways so you could probably put it on the kitchen table and I would need a step ladder to reach). Not to make light of the situation but yes there are no more vitamens in the house because Xander ate them all. The funny thing is, they weren't even the kids' flinstones. they were mine. they are the only multi-vitamen i have been able to stomach since my lap band surgery. They were MY pills. Talk about hard to explain that to people.

My experience with Dr. Muse has been HEAVEN!!! I had so many problems the first 5-6 months first 5 fills. No restriction. NONE. And also no support through my surgeon's office when it came to my feelings about never having restriction and feeling like I have wasted my money. I switched to Dr. Muse when I got his name through Fill Centers USA. My first appt. with him was wonderful. He is super nice and I have had restriction from the fist hour I met him 3 months ago and have lost over 30 lbs living the banded life. I wish I would have switched to him sooner. He does however remind me of a thinner Anthony Hopkins as far as looks go. Bieng a very big Silence of the Lambs fan it makes me a little uneasy!! LOL

I have had some pretty awful days this week. I am writing this to let everyone know the dangers of something so common I never gave it a second thought on it bieng dangerous. Sunday my 11 year old daughter asked me if she could make her and her 3 year old brother some lunch. I jumped at the chance to let her do it as as I was sitting on the couch doing homework on my laptop and was too "busy". About an hour or so later my son seemed very angry and not feeling well. I thought he was just bieng his normal moody self until he started throwing up all over the place. I assumed he had the stomach flu and while I was cleaning up all the vomit his sister came home and asked what was wrong. I told her that her brother had the stomach flu but seemed to be feeling better as he was laughing and running around playing again. After another two hours my son started throwing up again and my daughter came out of his room holding an empty flinstones chewable vitamen bottle. we had both just realized that he had eaten the whole bottle. (there were at least 50 vitamens left in the bottle). I called poison control immediately and then 911. by the time the ambulance got to my home my son was not breathing and totally motionless. upon arriving to the hospital and blood bieng taken, they said he had iron poisening which causes liver/kidney failure. We were devestated and i was wishingn i would have kept a closer eye on him and called 911 sooner. They were able to give him some sort of medication that binded with the iron and made it leave his body. He is much better now and home from the hospital and expected to make a full recovery. I didn't realize until later that my daughter had taken the vitamens off the fridge when making lunch and gave them each one and put the bottle back on the counter without the lid. I should have watched closer, I should have known something else was going on. I had no idea that a child could O.D. on flinstones' chewables. I'm glad I learned from my mistake without permanent damage. just thought I should share that story.

I just realized we were banded the same day and have lost within a pound of eachother. EXCELLENT JOB SO FAR!

I think that varies from person to person. I myself did not have restriction until my 6th fill which was 5 months after surgery. I had that fill done January 9th and since that date I have gone from 234 lbs to 202.6. I am ready for another fill and scheduled for it on April 2nd. I have heard some people say they are ready for a fill every time they lose around 10 lbs.

I'm also getting my fills from fillcentersusa. Who is the actual doctor doing your fills? Mine is Dr. Derek Muse in Salt Lake City.

I'd have to say a very recent one. Not trying to offend anyone here but it was the one that aired a few weeks ago about the guy who was on some game show and thought the word was nigger and it was something completely different. Everywhere he went people were calling him that nigger guy. It was a big spoof on how they want to ban that word. That show was so rediculous that I couldn't stop laughing.

Sorry, you ever get revved up about something and think of something else you wanted to say but didn't??? anyways, why does it seem like the athiest posts I read talk more about "to each their own" and the only intolerance ie: hatred I seem to read is from "religious" people. Is that what they teach you in church? Again, if I have mis-read something or missed anything as I do not claim to have read EVERY single message on this board I do apologize. I'm just curious why we have to change the subject? This post was made in LBT rants and raves and clearly says off topic debate area. Why can't we start another thread about movie quotes in another area. That way people who want to debate this topic can as long as they follow the rules. And if people are offended by the topic they can just not come in here. I will probably get burned at the stake for saying that but I think this topic was posted in the appropriate place. Speaking of things I am pondering? Is the person that posted the original topic in this thread cowardly? Im a straight liberal atheist. I did however have a very long relationship with a woman in my teenage years. we even lived together for almost a year. She is a wonderful person and someone whom with I learned alot about life from. Never regret it for a moment. As far as that cartoon goes in the first post. looks like fun, maybe if I wasn't such a fatty I could get into that position. Hmmmmm, think I have just now changed my main goal to be in that position instead of getting healthy.
