  1. That is so awesome! Congrats!!! I have 57 more lbs to go by then so maybe by my bandiversary date which is a little less than 7 months away.
  2. Dr. G is the best! I absolutely love him. I am 5 months post op and I have lost 56 lbs total so far. Not to mention all the inches I've lost. I am so much happier a person and I am enjoying my life right now.
  3. Grilled veggies are my fave!!! That with whatever meat I make whether it's chicken or turkey tenderloin.

So here I am 5 months post op and I absolutely LOVE my band. As of today I am down 56 lbs!!! Everytime I post new pics on my facebook page I get so many comments on them and it feels so good. I also have many people approach me at work and ask what my secret it. It feels amazing!!! Can't wait to see how much weight loss I will be at on my 1 year bandiversary!!!

  6. Yea you are still bloated from the gas. Give it a few more days it'll go away.
  7. Those are signs that you are due for another fill. Make your appointment and you'll notice a big difference.
  8. I think the back shoulder pain's the worst. yea that sucks! I Pb'd 3 times. Twice on chicken and once on a bagel (it was in the a.m. and I had a fill a few days before and was much tighter and shouldn't of eaten anything yet). I know your pain.
  9. Don't have any problems whatsoever with salad. Goes in and down just fine.
  10. I've really had to work at this. I'm at the point if i'm eating and then I drink something it will make me uncomfortable. I just don't bother with beverages while eating lunch or dinner. Breakfast is usually a granola bar so I wait about 10 minutes or so before drinking again. Lunch and Dinner I definitely wait the full 30.
  11. Nope. Your surgeon should take care of that while they're in there. I had a fairly large one myself.
  12. Make your appointment go in and face the music. Like Elisabeth said you're not the 1st patient to gain back some weight and you're not the last. You can do it!!!! I know you can. Make your appointment, get back on track and lose those lbs!!! That's the beauty of having the band for circumstances like this. You just go in, get a fill, get back on track and bam you lose again.
  13. Get her to become your exercise buddy!!! YOu guys can support each other. As far food being the social activity replace unhealthy foods with fruits and veggies. Tis the season for some awesome grilled veggies and fresh fruits. Then when she gets back on her feet help her out with her journey.
  14. The lapband is just a tool to help us lose weight. It doesn't lose weight for us. We are the ones who are in control of the food we put into our body not the lap band. Your friend is just jealous.
  15. That is so awesome. Congrats!
  16. I am 5 months post op and I don't regret a single minute of it. I'm down 56 lbs and I'm feeling great for the first time in my life!!!
  17. I think you may regret your decision not to go through with it even more. Do it now while you are young and healthy. Don't wait until it's too late and you wish you shoulda coulda woulda.
  18. NewSexyMe: -wear Long EVENING DRESSES! With a slit up to the thigh! lol.
  19. My name is heather and I'm a scalaholic. lol. I've done the same thing and experienced the same thing with the weight gain after peeing. Or even seeing the scale stay the same! I weigh myself about 2 or 3 times a day. Usually 1st thing in the morning. If it's a weekend I'll wait an hour and weigh myself after the morning weigh in and then I usually weigh myself at night just to see how much i'm up from the day. So no it's not just you there are others out there just like you!
  20. My restriction is finally getting to the point where I'm really tight in the mornings and not hungry but up until this point I was eating 3 meals and 1 snack a day. Now that I'm really tight in the mornings I have to retool my meal plan but I'm excited to be entering this phase in my band.
  21. I'm not a heavy drinker but I do enjoy having a drink now and again. Beer takes forever for me to drink and by the time I get it halfway down it's gone. I just don't bother too much because it's not worth gaining weight over.
  22. Fitting comfortably on rides at amusement parks. Wearing knee high boots and being able to zip them up. Having the hot guy check me out instead of my friend. Being more confident of myself.
  23. My doctor says pop is a no no for me but I occasionally have it. It doesn't bother me at all when I drink it. One thing I do notice is it makes me feel really crappy. I hate the way it makes me feel. So when I want pop I pour myself a little glass and it satisfies my cravings.
  24. Crishell - I cannot wait to finally be able to buy a pair of tall boots and be able to zip them up!!! It's going to be a while because I have fat calves.
  25. My body is finally beginning to regulate it self. It only took 4 months after my surgery for that to happen!
