  1. Ha Ha, Oh yea! I have 6 mini butt cracks! It is a beautiful sight!
  2. Oh that is awful, I am so sorry. I know they are like children and it is really hard, just allow yourself to go through the grieving process. It will be fine and you can do this! My prayers are with you. If you ever need support, please know we are here to support you.
  3. YAY! You are an inspiration to us all! Congrats on your success!!! Happy Bandiversery!
  4. Oh! I think he is in the same office as my doctor! I was banded at Baptist by Dr. Morton. Are you going to any of the group meetings?
  5. 10 LBS in 3 weeks is deff. not something to laugh at! You have done great! That is a little more than 3 pounds a week and that is great! The point is you are loosing and that is what matters. It isn't happening over night, but it is happening! Keep your chin up, as you are doing great!
  6. I was on liquid hydrocodone, but quickly moved off of it by day 4.
  7. Oh yea, I went through this! You can contact the corporate office, which is still open but NO help! Luckily, I still had my contract from them and my insurance company took that as proof along with a letter that I wrote explaining how they had gone out of business. I know, it is very frustrating, as I went through the exact same thing! If you would like to contact the corporate office, you can get thier number of the main website still.
  8. I love chilli, so I made low cal chilli which is full of protien. My doctor told me I could have beans on the mushy phase, so I made chilli with kidney beans & REALY ground turkey meat and just a touch of chilli powder & garlic. Put is all in a crockpot for 5-7 hours and whala! It is great & very easy to mush!
  9. I am 9 days post-op and my incisions are still sore to the touch. My question is, how long do they stay sore?
  10. It is important to understand that the band is NOT a calorie counter. If the issue is not being able to have the self control to make the right choices, then maybe not. The band is only a tool, but you have to make the decission to become a healthier you and make the right choices.
  11. I agree, it is very difficult. I am 8 days postop and thought to begin with that maybe I was going to be one of those lucky people who would never need a fill. I was never hungry!! Until about 2 days ago when I feel like 30 minutes after I eat, I could eat again and again. I too was able to eat mushies on day 3...The swelling has deff. gone down, so we are in the same boat! :scared2: The main thing is, remember your fill isn't that long away and you have gone this far, you can't look back! I know it is easier said than done, but just look for the light at the end of the tunnel and focus on that, as you will have restriction before you know it. If you get hungry after your meal have a Jello cup or fat free pudding. I find those really help! Oh, I am from Nashville too! Where did you get banded? Good luck & take care, you can do it!
  12. Good luck, you are making a great choice to get healthy! You are going to do great! I am one week post-op and have never looked back...I am sure you will be the same way. Keep us posted on your progress! :scared2:
  13. I'm from Nashville, TN and was banded by Dr. Morton at Baptist!
  14. 16 LBS preop--> 3 weeks total. I am 6 days postop and have lost 4 LBS. TOTAL: 20 LBS in 30 days.
  15. Thats great! Congrats! I feel the same, very minimal pain. I was banded on the 27th and the only real pain I feel is tenderness where my 6 incissions are. Other than that, I am pretty much back to normal. Congrats & good luck!
  16. I am having the same problem, I was banded on the 27th and am on mushies now. However, I really don't ever feel full or hungry. I will hear a growl in my belly, but don't feel hungry. So, far I have just been living by the 4 ounce rule. I never eat iver 4 - 6 ounces at a time. It has seemed to work for me, as I have not gotten sick.
  17. Another question for fellow banders.. I was banded on the 27th and got my cycle on the 29th, well starting yesterday I am having crazy back pain. I am wondering if it can be contributed to my cycle, constipation, or the surgery? Has anyone else had bad back pain after surgery?
  18. I was in the same boat, I had a BMI of like 43, but after loosing 18LBS before surgery, it went down to about 39. The 39 would have put me below the approval, so I believe it is your prior weight, I would ask the insurance claim person at your doctor's office though to make sure.
  19. I was banded on te 27th with pretty much no gas pain at all, but directly after surgery, I started to feel a stonge pain under my left side of my rib cage. I can't figure out if it is gas pain or not, because I don't feel it unless I take a deep breath or cough. It almost feels like it is brused. It seems like where my liver is, could it be that is was brused during surgery? Has anyone else felt this type of soreness in this spot after surgery?
  20. I was banded on the 27th too and feel the same. ALOT of funny noises are coming from my belly, but I have no appetite. I eat B/C I know I have too, but really no sense hunger. It is strange, I thought it might be B/C "TOM" came to visit, but maybe not now that I read your post.
  21. I am home now too! I had surgery at 8:15 and was home by 12:00 today! I feel great!! I have no gas pain, but a little incession pain and soar throat. Other than that, I am able to swallow fine and pee like crazy! Thanks for the kind thoughts, and I am very glad we all have each other to go through this!
  22. I did that too ans around that time period..I had to change brands on my shakes, B/C I was so over drinking the same thing that is was making me sick to my stomach!
  23. Just a few more hours till I go now, I have to report at 5:30AM in the morning..
  24. Well, due to the recession hosptials are having a hard time getting people to pay when they get an invoice. However, right now my hospital offered me a %20 discount if I paid in advance and I saved over $300 on a $2,000 deductable!
