  1. I am about to start my pre-op diet and I am wondering if anyone has an oppinion on what the cheapest and most reliable store is that carries Slim Fast Low Carb. I have noticed that they are deff. exspensive around $8 for 4! Any better ideas out there?
  2. We are date twins! YAY for us! Congrats on getting your date! What date do you start your pre-op diet? My Dr. has said mine will consist of 2 protien drinks & 1 frozen meal a day. Is that similar to yours?
  3. I haven't been banded yet, but my surgery is in a few weeks and my husband has been saying things like, "when your skinny, you aren't going to leave me right"? It iritates me too, B/C it makes me feel the only reason he chose me was B/C I was part of his "league". I think the best thing you can do it just let him know that you loosing weight isn't about him. It is about you and by him being jealous and possesive that is only making the transition harder. I would just keep as much open communication as possible and reassure him your in your marriage for the long hual.
  4. 1. Buy a pair of "hooker boots". I am tired of not being able to wear knee high boots due to the size of my calfs! 2. Run the Music City Half Marathon. 3. Wear a bathing suite and feel like I look like a million bucks in it!
  5. Patch, I can't tell you how helpful that post was. I am going to be looking up those books, ASAP! I too am pre-op with a surgery date in March and can't get anough info. from the success stories out there! Thank you!
  6. Hey there, Breeze! Congrats on considering this weightloss option to get healthy! This is a great website and you can learn a whole lot from very experienced banders! I have yet to have my surgery date (early March), but I have learned so much from this bored! I do recomend going to a local free seminar to learn more about how the procedure is performed and what you need to do to make it work for you. If I have learned anything, it is knowledge is power when it comes to being sucessful with this great tool!:cursing: -Meghan
  7. Mine seems actually a bit backwards... my insurance company didn't require the Psyc. Evalv., but my DOC did. So, my Psyc. Evalv. is scheduled a week and a half after the insurance has already approved me. Then, they have to get the results back, which can take up to a week, before they will even schedule my surgery. So, we are looking at about a month after insurance has already approved by the time I get a date. It is frustrating, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  8. I submited mine on a Wednesday and by Monday, I was approved! My advice is to call the insurance company everyday! Keep your file on their desk!
  9. Try freezing the shake and eating it like ice cream- it takes longer to eat, so in a way it feels like you are eating more.
  10. That is so great! We are date buddies, B/C I too got approved today! I have never been happier! I actually cried when the insurance company called me! I can't wait for this journey..good luck to you!
