Lap Band Olympics???
Yep, the liquids stage made me feel like all I did all day was drink and pee! But, now that I'm trying to drink at least 64oz of water a day...it's still the same! Hey, it's extra exercise!

Road to "TWOterville"
Well, I just wanted to share my exciting news...I have hit the 100 pounds mark! I cannot believe it. I never thought it was possible until I started my band journey! Thanks everyone for your support and I hope you're all doing well! We're kind of losing speed on this thread...how's it going?

Post-op question
I know it's hard but please don't even worry about your weight for the next few weeks. A lot of crazy stuff happens during this stage. My first full month was pretty wasted as far as the scale goes but once my body healed a bit and I got back into a normal eating pattern, things started moving along.

Hi I'm anew old bandster
Don't get disgusted with yourself! You can get back on track with a little extra work. You've had a lot of stressful stuff happen lately but don't let it ruin your hardwork. As far as finding a fill doctor, I'd suggest looking in the Tennessee thread: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=63 Good luck!

What is wrong with this?
You should be fine once your body recovers and gets back to normal. This stage of the game is pretty fickle so don't get discouraged. You sound like you're doing things right and it will pay off soon!

I'll SUCCEED IS ALIVE & BLESSED
You're inspirational! You've made excellent progress with your recovery and we're glad you're back in the saddle!

Am I crazy?? Already Mourning Food!
My experience so far is that my "tastes" have changed. Some of the foods I thought I couldn't live without no longer have the same appeal. Plus, I think of it this way...I've had those old favorites time and time again. I know what they taste like and I know how they make me feel afterward. They're old news. Now, it's time to move on toward finding new, healthier favorites. I agree with the others...everyone has to decide for themselves that they refuse to let food run their lives any longer. As cliche as it sounds, I kinda believe in that old saying "eat to live" not "live to eat".

Introducing Myself
Good for you! I don't consider this a diet because you're right "diets" never work in the long run. I consider this a lifestyle change and it's pretty rewarding. Congratulations and welcome!
-
Do you feel the way you did before banding?
No, I don't feel normal...I feel better than normal! I forget I have a band most days except for the fact that my pants are falling off and I no longer need an afternoon nap!!

Someone finally noticed!!!!!!
Congrats! That's a great feeling, isn't it? It's not petty...you deserve to feel good about it!

Costco NSV!
You go girl! Congratulations!

Please can we discuss acronyms here...im lost
PB'ing (Productive Burping) When you burp and junk comes with it. NSV (Non Scale Victory) A weightloss success that didn't directly involve the scale.) LBT (Lap Band Talk) This site. VGB (?) I think it stands for another surgery. TOM (Time Of the Month) The monthly visit from aunt Flo. Ha Ha. I hope that helps! Yeah, all the abbreviations can sometimes take awhile to figure out!

Great to be a loser- add your thoughts
*Feeling bones that you knew were inside you but have been hidden for years! *Not worrying about the food selection when planning social gatherings. *Knowing that exercise is NOT going to wipe me out for the rest of the day. *Getting to throw away clothes because they don't fit because they're too big not because I'm like a stuffed sausage in them.

New to the site!
Hi newbies and welcome! Glen, don't stress about gaining those 2 pounds back. At 17 days post-op your body is still going through an adjustment/healing phase. Once you get settled back into regular food you should see an improvement. Although, 25 pounds is an awesome start! Connie, congrats on the upcoming surgery. You'll do great!

New to this site!
Welcome! I agree with everyone else, this site is full of very nice, helpful people. I appreciate that it has a positive vibe. I've found other sites where all they seem to do is complain about their band. So, I'm glad you're here!

sinus and too tight
Wow, that is amazing. My restriction has been all over the place and I was blaming the heat. But, I have terrible sinus problems too so perhaps that's my problem??? Very interesting, thanks for sharing!

Restaurant Menus: Overwhelming?
OK. I totally agree! I figure I don't want to waste my money on something that won't go down. But...I have a story for ya. The other week, my sister and I were at a restaurant. I looked at the stinkin' menu forever and had a plan in my head. Then the waitress comes over and poof...I had a major brain fart. I ordered stinking chicken tenders and beer battered onion rings. WOW, old habits are hard to break. After the waitress left, I was in a state of shock and my sister goes "what the heck?". It was funny but sad at the same time. Unfortunately, I ate it too. The restaurant was so busy that after we placed our order she disappeared and I never had a chance to change it. Big OOPS but even bigger lesson! I won't do that again.

What in the world could have caused this?
Sure, ask what was in there...I do! I'm curious, so I ask! I also think you should have the right to ask for flouro if you feel strongly about it. They may not be able to accomodate you, but I don't see what's wrong with asking about it! Luckily for me, I could actually feel the Fluid going up the tube into my band...isn't that crazy? Even my doctor couldn't believe it...it was nice though because I knew for sure that he hit my port!

Whippledaddy Has Passed Away
What a loss. I am very sorry to hear this news. My prayers are with his family and with his LBT friends.

Adjustment Question
That probably means you have a VG band (10 cc's) just like me! My fills are done in the office without the swallow but I would think yours will result in a more effective fill because he'll be able to see for himself how tight the band will be. Either way, I don't think it will be a big deal, except for the yucky barium! My first fill didn't hurt one bit!

What in the world could have caused this?
You're not a total failure at all! Yes, we have to do our best each day, but to make you feel a little better...your body can use a little extra calorie intake during TOM. That's not a blank check but it should help with the guilt! You're right...tomorrow is another day and it WILL be better! Hang in there!

junk food at work
I can really relate. My "crew" is a big bunch of snackers too! I just tell myself that there's nothing special about what they brought. It's the same old junk food I've had a million times before in my life and nothing good ever came of it before! (You gotta psych yourself out sometimes!)

Can only hope to lose 65% of excess weight???
First of all...some SUPPORT group! I'm sure that lady was trying to be objective but telling someone they are being unrealistic wasn't really supportive! Secondly...I, for one, am going to do my darndest to try to lose as close to 100% of my excess weight as possible. I'm sure gonna try! So I say, sure...it's possible. Anything is possible!
