  1. Welcome to the challenge NatesMommy! We're all gonna look sooo good this Christmas! Name August Weigh In Christmas Goal JulieNYC 282 235 LapBandit 291 250 Josette 372 340 BPM 288 230 NatesMommy 305 275
  2. I'm in a plateau too. It totally stinks...I feel ya. I agree with everyone else, once you get your first fill then you'll see a difference. Try to hang in there!
  3. Oh, it's already been brawt! LOL! Cool! Name August Weigh In Christmas Goal JulieNYC 282 235 LapBandit 291 250 Josette 372 340 BPM 288 230
  4. Good job! Happy Birthday! and Congratulations! You're right...it was a big day for you!!
  5. I think this is a cool idea too! I would be willing to help out if needed too. It's hard to justify spending money on clothes that you are hopefully only going to fit for a month or two!!
  6. This is INCREDIBLE! I am so happy for you! What a neat post, thanks for sharing!
  7. I'm almost 6 months out and I am just recently feeling my port inside me. I don't feel anything like you're describing though. I think I'm feeling mine because I have lost enough weight to make it more pronounced. Do you think this your situation too? Either way, I think you should mention it to your Doc as well. Good luck and I hope you feel better!
  8. I have a VG and got 4cc's during surgery. I think it has to do with how the band fits your stomach and that's how they determine who needs a fill and how much to give. It's funny how everyone's bellys are so many different sizes inside!
  9. I don't know if it's bad or not, but I can and do chug-a-lug. I've always drank my water this way so maybe it's easier for me to do post-band than for others. I started out slow though to test the waters (no pun intended) first!
  10. I am terrible about getting in my water at work too! It's so hard! I drink the majority of my water requirements at night. That's probably not a good thing but at least I'm drinking as much as I can. UGH...Work!
  11. The first month was hell for me. It was a really emotional time and I fought a lot of those "I'm already screwing up" demons. Once life settles down a little and you get more used to your new belly things will get easier! You just gotta find your groove!
  12. Shelly, I'm so sorry. I hope things work out for you. Keep us posted.
  13. All right, great! Now, we got a plan going. We're going to hit those targets and start the new year off great! My September 25th goal will be 280. A bit steep but I'm gonna try! Molly-that is wonderful. Yes, you are soooo close now!
  14. The only regret I have is not taking a "before" picture along with my measurements. I really wish I would've done this. And yeah, I echo the others, I regret not doing it sooner!
  15. You sound so down on yourself and you shouldn't. You had a bad day and yes, it sucks. But, we all have to get back on the horse and keep doing what we're doing. I have finally learned that each day is a brand new chance to do things better. And if you "mess up" at one meal, don't discount the entire day as a failure...just do better at your next meal. You are doing this for YOU because you're worth it. Get back up and try again. The liquids stage SUCKS and it really tests you. We all suffered through it and we can tell you that there is light at the end of the tunnel so hang in there and let us know how you're doing! Tomorrow is a new day!
  16. I'm really sorry you are having problems right now. Unfortunately, I don't know what I could say to help. I think most people probably feel the same and that's why no one has responded. I hope things work out for you and your sister, I really do.
  17. You're awesome, you go get it girl! I would be so happy for you! You can do it! I'm chicken...I'm sticking with 250. But, 235 would be incredible. Anyone else want to join in with their Christmas goal? We can start a list and track it each month? Let's "weigh in" each 25th. Since August 25th has passed we'll just use our current weight. If you want to join just copy the list and add your info in. (Julie, I'm using your signature weight, you can change it if it's not current.) Name August Weigh In Christmas Goal JulieNYC 282 235 LapBandit 291 250 Molly-I am so happy for you! You are doing great!
  18. LOL, yeah I mean the good ol' "drink some water and see if your hunger goes away" thing.
  19. This is so funny! I hold the bone for my dog too!! He will actually whine at my feet with the bone in his mouth until I pick it up and hold it! I love spoiling my dog! (You're puppy will get hooked and you'll be stuck holding the bone forever too!)
  20. We all have rough days with food. I don't think you will fail. If you want this then you'll make it. I'm not trying to make you feel any worse, but what do you think led to that "lost it" feeling? Did you let yourself get too hungry (not eating on schedule)? Were you upset? Nervous? Instead of beating yourself up, I would try to identify what caused me to eat like that and learn from it. Hang in there! And remember-Everyone messes up once in a while.
  21. Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I really appreciate it!
  22. Good point, I've heard this too. There are healthy fats that can be incorporated into the diet with moderation-such as in natural Peanut Butter. I read about people who have a fat-free diet but can't seem to lose weight-good thinking!
  23. It sounds like GallBladder to me, too. You could be having referred pain which explains why you feel it on your left side. You should talk to your regular doctor about this. Good luck!
  24. Congratulations and welcome to Bandland! Glad to hear you're feeling well!
  25. One thing I did that really gave me a jumpstart was to begin eating like a bandster as soon as I began the process. I started eating several small meals per day. Only drink no calorie liquids and focus on eating proteins first at each meal. This should make your transition into banded life a little easier plus give you a couple months to get a head start! Good luck and congratulations!
