  1. OK, how's this, I believe that GOD gave us freedom of choice, but I also believe GOD does not give us the freedom to choose the consequeces of our choices. Have a nice day
  2. Hey carol134, if you are such a believer in what the bible say's, do you think your icon should shaking her junk all over the place like that?
  3. Hi Tiredepot, I was banded August 24th and it is amazing what happens. I am getting my first fill next Monday so I am excited about the next stage. welcome to BandLand
  4. I use an All Clad 10" stainless steel wok I bought from Ebay. Got it for about $68 I love how with the right heat and not too much oil it cooks up things real nice and the pan is easy to clean if you just put a small amount of water in and swirl it around a bit. The 10" size is great for doing small amounts and not wasting food. I used to have a non stick one years ago and the one thing I did not like about it was that I couldn't move food out to the sides for a minute, they just kept sliding back down into the middle.
  5. Mine was two fold, 1: that I was taking five shots a day for my diabetes(living in the 250 to 350 blood sugar range) and was still gaining weight, 2: at work I was on an elevator and one of my fellow employees asked when I was going to have my baby, I am a male by the way, when I told her that wasn't very nice she just laughed. That had happened many times before and that time just put me over the edge, dieting had never really worked long term so Lap Band was the way to go and I am glad I did it.
  6. I had a couple of times in pre-op that I couldn't take it and splurged on meals. Side note though, when I went in for surgery I had to wait almost two hours after my scheduled time because of patients ahead of me that were having a little problem with their surgery. Turns out they hadn't lost the weight and so the operations were a little more of a problem. So, you can do it! loose the pre-op weight it will be easier on yourself too. Good luck and see you in bandland!!
  7. Thanks everyone, still feeling pretty much ok, my main problem is the incision above my belly button. I think maybe that is where my port is, feels a bit tight there. I will have to email my doc and ask where he put the port. I wasn't in much of an asking questions mood when I was waking up if you know what I mean
  8. Hi there, I have been using Wellements which I got at Costco. Bavarian dutch chocolate. YUM I mix it with fat free milk 1 scoop per 5 to 7 ounces each scoop has 27grams of protein I mix in either a blender or a shaker cup. And it taste good too.
  9. I am in Banderville !!! Things were running a bit late yesterday so I didn't get my band until around 3 in the afternoon. Iwas scheduled for 1:15. So far everthing seems to be going good. Mostly sore, not actual pain. It was something for me crossing that plateau of getting the band, now on to the loosing. Two of the incisions kept bleeding a bit last night so put a extra gauze pad on each one and now they are fine. Yes, it does kinda feel like I've been beat up a bit. All the people that work at Northwest Weight Loss Surgery are great! A big :clap2: THANK YOU :clap2: to everyone there. :biggrin1:
  10. Tomorrow I get banded! Right now I really want pizza. Just kidding, I've been liquiding up today because as of midnight no more fluids until after the operation, which isn't until 1:15 in the afternoon. Nervous, excited all at the same time. Bought some Gas-X just in case. I'm really doing this!! AAAAHHHH!!!! :clap2: :clap2: :peace: :lalala:  :flame: :shade: :drum:

I drive the ugliest car in the world according to a friend at work, but I love it!!!!!
  12. Am I wrong or is there something wrong with this thread? Going to an all you can eat place after being banded? That just doesn't seem like something one would do, kind of defeating the whole idea of the band as a tool. Maybe it's just me................................................
  13. Ok, a lot of you are going to go major yuk over this, but it is good. Being single I can try strange combo's, this one is good. here it is 3oz. of the small size salad type shrimp put that in a pan on medium that is sparyed with pam. add 1 tsp. hot chili seasame oil, add one tsp tabasco chipolte, add a smidge off cayenne pepper, OK, after cooking that together for a bit it is time for the strange part. Now is the time to add 1/2 cup of Bush chili Beans in sauce, NOT CHILI, just beans in sauce. stir that around until warmed up and there is your dinner, or lunch, or Breakfast if your even stranger than me. It really is good, a bit spicy, but I like spicy. Enjoy !! :omg: :flame:
  14. Hi everyone, I am on my pre-op diet. Getting banded on August 24th. I am drinking Medifast 3 to 4 times a day with one 200 to 300 calorie meal. I am wondering if meals like Lean Cuisine or Southbeach Diet meals are OK. Sometimes it's a little late when I get home so don't have the zip to cook from scratch. Also coming face to face with the grazing monster. Funny how when you stop a habit it can really let you know what a habit it was. Any opinions about the meals would be great, Thanks :Banane27:
  15. I am 6'4" and wieghed 309 yesterday at the doc's. Goal is 220.
