I love the group name of "April Bunnies" After our weight loss -- we will be looking like the girls next store right??? hahaha (don't know that I will ever get like that - but my husband assures me that I will be extremely HOT!!) Ok -so of course my DH knows -- and so does my DD (6 yrs old) to a limitation. A couple people at my work knows - and they are supportive. My siblings know -- and are supportive also. A couple friends that I told, one is supportive, the other (who is also overweight) just "can't understand why I would do it"........well I am TIRED of being FAT!!! and I told her that....she replied you aren't FAT, are not much bigger than I am. I politely kept my mouth shut - but wanted to say, and you, MY DEAR FRIEND, are fat also. Anyway - I am soo excited. My appt is April 28 - so I am a late bunny! :thumbup:

:thumbup: Just got done with the surgeon consult -- my surgery date is April 28!!! It could have been sooner - however, I have some work projects that I MUST get completed prior to surgery and we have a CRUISE scheduled April 5-12....:thumbup: so 2 weeks of shakes after the cruise and then I am a go!!!! :blushing: YEA!!! I am so excited!!!:blushing:

Well I had my pre-op consult with the surgeon this morning. DH went with me. The surgeon did a great job explaining how the band will HELP me to lose weight - and all that ...she went through meds, Vitamins, foods, exercise, family, etc. It was very good. And I have my surgery date -- which was pushed back a few weeks due to work related things that I HAVE to get done.......... :thumbup: April 28, 2009!!!!!! I am so excited -- but I have 6 weeks to wait......ugh! But I know they will/should fly by........I have a 7 day cruise just before I start the 14 days of shakes.....yea!! Those should be some good before pics!:thumbup:

Hi there - ALL my pre-op stuff is DONE!! And I got the call from the surgeon's office yesterday - meeting with the surgeon on Friday the 13th!! Pschy eval 2 sleep studies (now have CPAP) EKG Chest X-ray Mammogram Pap Blood draw 9 vials!! Nurse consult 6 weeks of classes (run by surgeon's office) dietician consult proof of a 6 month supervised diet Yea -- now for the actual surgery!!! :thumbup:

Hello - I had started this journey back in January - and my husband and I decided that we would take a spring break vacation with our 6 yr old daughter. That vacation (a cruise) is fast approaching. When we get back I start my 2 weeks of liquid diet. And then have the surgery. Anyone else plan and go on a nice vacation just prior to surgeery? Did you 'binge' at all while on vacation? Or were you able to stick to a sensible low-calorie diet? I am a little afraid that I might overdo it...

Anyone use Dr's Lane and/or Richardson in Lansing Michigan? If yes, please let me know how you liked (or didn't) like them --- thanks! :mad2:

I also have BSBC PPO as a state employee. I called the BSBC office and asked alot of questions (my surgeon gave me a page of questions to ask them). They answered all of the questions and then some - and they followed up with a two-page letter. They do not have a pre-authorization requirement, however they will check with the surgeons office to assure every pre-req was met. They did require a 6-month physician supervised program (within 2 or 5 years). My surgeon's office is soooo picky on the pre-op stuff that I feel very confident that everything will be paid for by BCBS. I go for my pre-op surgeon appt this Friday - with a planned surgery date of April 27!!!! :mad2:

My pre-surgical consult is March 13 - would like someone similar to myself either going through it --- or already have gone through it. I am 46 Married - 13 years 6 year old daughter Work full-time Love to garden, cook and "used to" compete in volleyball and softball. Amount to lose - approx 100 lbs

Hi - I am a "soon to be banded" patient of Dr Lane - at Ingham Reg Hosp. Anyone out their also a patient with them? They have had sooooo many seminars - the weekly meetings are PACKED - so thought some of you may be on this site and we could exchange stories and suport each other throught the process. :crying:

I have my pre-op consult on March 13th....all ready to start the two weeks of liquids....can you drink as MUCH of the liquid as you want? Or are you limited?

Hello - this is my 1st post I have attended a seminar, chosen a surgeon, and have now completed all the post-op testing and classes. Waiting for the appt with the surgeon and get my surgery date. I am very happy with the surgeon's office that I have chosen and so far (cross my fingers) my insurance company has NOT been a barrier! Hoping to be banded at the end of April 2009!!
