  1. *If you aren't losing weight you need another fill. You should be losing 1-2 lbs a week. Good luck!:clap2:
  2. You'll be fine once you can move back to solids. Right now it is just very difficult for you. You will be able to enjoy all your favorite foods just in smaller quantities. Keep your eyes on the prize. Julie
  3. I eat the 100 calorie packs. My surgeon told me that popcorn goes down like sand. Its true. Very easy to get through the band.
  4. Good for you. I am planning on having a couple pieces of candy but not much.
  5. Good for you. Go treat yourself to some new clothes! Julie
  6. No, not at all. I am on the board almost all day long. I love it.
  7. Yes, its okay if you don't tell anyone. Because you can still eat relatively normal just smaller quantities you will be okay.
  8. Hi there, welcome to band land. I think my doctor had me do 2 weeks of liquids followed by 2 weeks of mushies after surgery. I didn't have a preop diet, lucky me. Julie
  9. I can eat spaghetti and meatballs with no problem. I just had that yesterday. Unfortunately due to the texture I can eat quite a bit of it. Julie
  10. Don't worry, they can give you an anti nausea medication that will help. Just let them know when you are going in. Julie
  11. Shelbellz222, you should eat your hard protein first. That will keep you from getting hungry more often. I made the mistake of eating too soft of a diet and I really paid for it. So make sure you are eating solid protein. Second, if you are still starving and can eat a substantial amount of food you need a fill. Don't be scared to ask for a fill if you have these symptoms. Julie
  12. Syrah, I don't want to scare you that is not my intention. I don't know why your surgeon told you that. It is very common for hunger to come back full force in a few weeks after being banded and with no restriction. So if you start to get hungry it can happen. That being said, you may be one of the lucky ones and not have it return before your first fill. Either way, you just need to know it can happen both ways. Julie
  13. Lorraine, I am glad Pat's surgery went well. Now is the time to heal. Good luck to the both of you. Julie
  14. Its the best thing I have ever done. I eat chips and pizza, just not much of them. Good luck to you. I love being banded. Julie
  15. Hi Tracy, I have heard some wonderful things about Dr. Spivak so you are in good hands. They only advise I can give you is how important it is to follow the postop diet to a tee. You are in the healing stages and its important because of the sutures which hold the band in place. You may feel like you aren't very hungry initially. It will be very important for you to sip just a little bit initially. You don't want to gulp any liquid. If you get really hungry you can have anything that fits through a straw on the liquid phase. Creamy soups really helped me out. If you get hungry and don't feel restriction and want to eat everything in site, this can happen. It is because you don't have any solution in your band so you are wide open. When you get a fill or 2 6 weeks post op this should cure some hunger and fullness. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am glad to help. Julie
  16. I found a great bathing suit which was 2 pieces. A little skirt and a tan top (not tight). I found it at Kohls. They carry up to size 24 I believe. Have fun on your honeymoon. Julie
  17. All of the above. Burping and hiccuping is part of the sensors telling you that you are full. Take the warning and stop eating when you get the signal. Good luck. Julie
  18. This thread is so motivating. Thank you all for the posts. Julie
  19. Welcome to bandland. Congrats on your impending surgery. Julie
  20. Yes, it is normal. You may experience this for weeks. I would use a heating pad. That should help.
  21. Stacy, congrats on getting to a good fill level. It makes a world of difference. Julie
  22. Sarah, I agree with all of the above. As the swelling goes down, you will be able to drink more and more. Congrats on getting banded. Julie
  23. Kelly, congrats on getting your band date. You will love being banded. Julie
  24. Lepez, PB stands for Productive Burp. It is similar to vomitting. Julie
