  1. how about refried beans and melted cheese, cottage cheese and boiled egg mixture, yogurt, pureed meats, chicken salad and tuna salad. I eat alot of this even now when I am on solids.
  2. You are having normal post op discomfort considering you had a hernia repair too. Repairing hernias involves muscles we use to sit up and just about every other activity we do so you will feel sore for awhile. Getting up and walking is the very best remedy for post op discomfort. Keep us posted on your progress.
  3. Any physician worth his or her salt wont say anything negative to you. I saw my PCP and band removal surgeon last week. Both were entirely supportive. The surgeon who removed my lap band and did the partial sleeve said that my surgeon in Mexico was an excellent surgeon (he saw my xrays and results of my recent barium swollow and lab work) He is the chief of surgery for the VA Greater Los Angeles Medical Services and an extremely good surgeon in his own right. When your surgery has been done, it becomes futile for him or her to say anything negative in lieu of supporting and treating you accordingly.
  4. VA is right, the incision usually heals nicely on its own and it remains open and drains for about 10 to 14 days, however, with that being said...If the area remains red and swollen and gets worse or does not improve, see your PCP or call Dr Aceves. It is ALWAYS good to keep your doctor informed early on with any possible complications.
  5. they dont all do biopsies, I think angel was referring to another situation.
  6. Jenny Craigs is under 100.00, I think I paid 50 something but I was a member
  7. If I were you, I would double up on the snickers bars and go for a stripper in lieu of a belly dancer, oh and get some sf popsicles
  8. I have been reading articles where the studies are showing those who get at least 8 hrs of sleep a night lose more weight than those who only get 4 to 6 hrs a night, so maybe its a good thing.
  9. AJ, I know you are both nervous and excited. We will be here for you. Best of luck even though you wont need it, you will be in the best of hands.
  10. That makes 3, get another doctor, that one couldnt have been more unprofessional if they tried. You are better off with someone else.
  11. I think she may have had a surgeon that makes large sleeves. In another post a girl said she could eat a whole chicken breast. A medium to large breast could add up to 1 1/2 to 2 cups depending on the size. Again like Mac says, if its thin enough, 2 cups could be really easy for someone with a larger sleeve.
  12. I am only 3 hrs away. Have some nice motels in North Vegas?
  13. I am all for a trip to get some pickles, I actually already have a ticket to St Louis in October.
  14. I totally agree, she wanted to get his attention and she did. Makes me wonder what is next
  15. Which ones were scarey Susan, I thought the one with tatoos looked a bit different and the one that took a dip in the pool must have issues too.
  16. I had a revision 3 months after having the band removed. Best thing I ever did so far. I am 6 weeks out and have lost 23 lbs. I initially lost some weight with the band so now I total 40 lbs total. I am losing slower but it is coming off. I had gained about 14 lbs back due to the 3 month wait from band to sleeve.
  17. If you go by a Jenny Craig center, I am sure they will sell you one. Theirs is a Tanita brand too.
  18. You are in the best of hands, let us know how it goes
  19. I bet the two of you are a very close mother/daughter team. As a mom, you are awesome. She is going to have a much happier and healthier life because of you.
  20. Good luck with that, I hope it becomes revealing to you
  21. I am doing better now, I am getting in more fluids but not up to my 8 cups quite yet. I have a doctors appt tomorrow.
  22. Inserting a naso gastric tube into the stomach without the aid of fluorescope. You can't really see where the inserted tip end actually is. Sometimes when a patient is in an accident or has some sort of trauma and there is question of internal bleeding and for many other reasons, medical staff have to insert a tube into the stomach to empty the contents or provide a route to infuse medication or liquids.
  23. The nail in the coke thing is NOT true, maybe in hydrochoric acid but not coke. If it did that to a nail think of what it would do to your mouth esophogus and stomach.
