  1. I actually like the Nectar Fuzzy Navel protein powder. I mean, it's not exactly juice, but it tastes a lot like those orange/pineapple/peach mixed juices to me.
  2. Yep, that explains why I don't like it, then. Splenda is NASTY if it's used in high enough quantities to sweeten anything. Tastes like a mouthful of metal to me.
  3. How can someone study and still make a 35 on a multiple choice exam? It baffles me, it really does. You don't even have to really know the answer to most of the questions, just be able to RECOGNIZE them, for Pete's sake! :faint:
  4. Guess what the hospital billed my insurance for the surgery? Just under $50,000. And that didn't even include the anesthetist's bill or my surgeon's bill. Of course, I requested an itemized bill. It's outrageous how much they charge for things. Example: I was charged more than $30 for a MARKER, for Pete's sake! And I don't even know what they used it for!
  5. Wasn't it Sandy that got caught with sockpuppets?
  6. You were ALWAYS decent to me, so there's no hard feelings towards you from me.
  7. It's who you're thinking of. I wish her the best with her pregnancy, but it doesn't change the way she treated me. I was absolutely humiliated. I had NEVER been treated that way before, and it just stunned me that she would treat someone like that with no more provocation than she had, and in front of the ENTIRE board, no less. The very least she could have done was to confront me through PMs instead of on the board. I'm sorry that she's had a tough row to hoe, I really am, but it doesn't mean she gets a free ticket to be vicious to people and treat them with so little respect. I'm sure she can be a really nice person, but that wasn't my experience with her.
  8. Some of you might find this interesting. Personally, I'm a little irritated. Of all the people, HIM! I would have prefered John Edwards or Senator Biden. Anyway: My brother apparently just married into Fred Thompson's family. His new wife's cousin is Fred Thompson's daughter-in-law.
  9. Ditto. I loved that!
  10. I think you're right, WASa, at least to a certain extent. There's no other way to explain how certain members of Sandy's group have reacted. I mean, you give them evidence that is absolutely irrefutable, showing that Sandy has lied to them and that she really isn't what she claims to be, yet they choose to attack the messenger instead. It's completely insane, and the only way I can explain it is by what you've said. I mean, we're not angels here, by any means. But we've got a designated place to bitch, moan, and fight. It STAYS in that place. We can disagree with each other here, have absolute knock-down drag-out fights, yet we still support each other on the rest of the board. At OH, the bitching and fighting spreads from thread to thread. There's only a thin veneer of support there. People turn on each other without a second thought. People read that and think I'm joking or exaggerating. I'm not. You can be friendly with one another (or as close as people can get without ever meeting or talking to each other in person), but there a definite sense of clique-ishness. If you happen to say something to the wrong person (very easy if you don't spend all your free time on OH and observing), people treat you differently. Hell, I wound up with someone on my friend's list that I later found out HATED me, but she was perfectly nice and friendly to my face (at least, until I happened to get on her bad side). I had to have my account deleted because I became the easy target for people to attack, just because I happened to speak up in defense of someone that the clique hated (the very same person from my friends list that I mentioned before, ironically) and told EVERYONE involved to grow up and act like adults. A person that I prefer to refer to as "the psycho-bitch" (or PB, in a pinch) attacked me out of nowhere in a thread, with absolutely no provocation. It got to a point where I could no longer make ANY type of contribution to a thread without wondering if I was going to be attacked, just because some people had drawn lines and made an arbitrary decision that I was on the wrong side. It's crap. And that just about sums up my opinion of OH, to be honest. :speechles With all due respect, OH hasn't changed an iota, IMO. I was over there this afternoon, checking to see if there were any goods tips being posted. It was the same old fight, just a different topic. People still get absolutely BLASTED for stating their opinion. SandyR is still there, with people supporting her (for incomprehensible reasons). There is still fighting going on in threads, people are still allowed to censor what's said in their threads, the mods don't do CRAP, etc., etc., etc. It hasn't changed one bit. Different people singing, maybe, but still the same old OH tune. You are right about one thing, though.... There are good people at both places.
  11. Yep, I've been taking it easy. I'm supposed to be eating only pureed-texture foods until tomorrow afternoon. But it's amazing how much less hunger I've had and how quickly I get full. Plus, I finally learned why sipping is required. With my other fills, I could drink relatively normally, but with this one, I have to sip.
  12. This is a spin-off of the accidentally deleted thread "Imposters piss me off." Every so often, I go over to OH, even though I hate it, just to see if anything useful has been posted. Afterwards, I mentally slap myself. Every. Single. Time. It's a damn good thing that I had my account there deleted. If I hadn't, I probably would have been banned by now. Either I read a post by SandyR (I try to avoid them, but some sneak through when I'm not expecting it) that makes me want to slap her and shake the people that actually listen to her or I run across a thread containing an online WWIII over some stupid thing. (Today it was one where someone had the audacity [gasp!] to say that they didn't feel a lot of sympathy for people who buy something they really can't afford, default on their loans, and subsequently have their possessions repo'd - apparently that didn't go over well.) :speechles Every time I go over there, I wonder why I did. But I guess I continue to think that there might be some redeeming feature to the forum (every so often, a decent bit of advice gets posted). :phanvan
  13. I'm loving this. After my 2nd fill, I had good restriction for a few days, but it faded. I just got my 3rd fill (to 2.2 ccs) yesterday, and I can tell a major difference. I'm hoping that I'll keep this restriction. :bounce:
  14. Went down fine, just like eating other types of beans.
  15. I worship you, Wheetsin! I agree with every single freakin' word you just wrote.
  16. I prefer nuts, too. Pistachios are great, because they give you something to do with your hands and makes it seem like you are eating more than you are.
  17. That's a good idea. Ideally, that's what I'd do, but I live in an apartment with very limited counter space. And I'm a packrat, so my counter's already full.:guess
  18. I tried tofu for the first time last night, and it wasn't bad. It was in an Asian dish that wasn't highly flavored (IMO, at least) to start with, so it was a little bland. It made me want to try more, though, cooked in different ways.
  19. Some people use sugar-free products because of the calories found in sugar. Other people use limited amounts of real sugar, or don't even worry about the amount of sugar they consume. It just depends on what works best for you, what your nutritionist wants you to do, etc. I personally just limit my use of real sugar. I don't like the taste of artificial sweeteners, so I just eat or drink things with real sugar and factor it into my calories for the day or I eat/drink unsweetened things.
  20. You may be able to find them in your grocery store. Some stores have them in the freezer section. You just cook them and serve them with a little kosher salt, if you like them salty. But they are GOOD!
  21. My brother joined Alpha Tau Omega and was actually elected President of his chapter. And then the chapter got disbanded a year or so after his term as President. Too much partying/fighting/drugs. He found out just how much he was paying for friends, though, since he doesn't have that many from the fraternity.
  22. Do you have a place near you that offers Edamame? I had it for the first time last night when I ate dinner with my brother and sister-in-law. It's damned addictive!
  23. Ditto. Believe me, we can find lots of stuff that Sandy's done to bitch about! :whoo: But it just figures, with my luck, that the thread got deleted the day(s) that I had to drive to Memphis and back and couldn't read it. Now I'm wondering if I missed anything interesting. :cry
  24. I am utterly and completely astounded. I don't see how some people actually take care of themselved in the real world, if they are that stupid.
  25. Oh, wow. That would give me the giggles, I think. I always laugh when I read ads and such that have major mistakes in them.
