  1. Ticker guide here
  2. I think you need to look around and find yourself a gym that better fits your needs.
  3. Think of any questions or concerns that you have that you would like to discuss with your surgeon. Now is the time to do it.
  4. It's normal not to be losing now. Once you start getting the fills the weight will begin to come off. This period in time is called bandster hell. If you read through the forums you will see that most people go through it. It's when you have the band already but it's not really doing anything because you don't have the fills. Hang in there. It will pass. And the weight will come off.
  5. Stick to your surgeons guidelines and listen to his rules and you will be fine. I had my surgery three months ago and I haven't thrown up once.
  6. I was told that walking is no problem. Anything more rigorous than that you need to check with your surgeon.
  7. You should expect to lose one to two pounds a week. Anything on top of that is an added bonus. Don't set unrealistic goals for yourself and then be disappointed. That said, it definitely is possible, but there are no guarantees.
  8. DO call your doctor. Everyone is different and your surgeon will tell you what is best for you. I had to wait till my first fill which was 6 weeks post op. You need to give your body time to heal from the surgery. If you start exercise to early you run the risk of flipping your port. Is that something you want?
  9. Good for you! You'll do great. Keep us updated with your progress!
  10. Hey, its your life. Its worth the $3600. I don't have insurance so I was a self pay. It cost me over $15,000 which I am still paying off. But I don't regret it for a second. Also, you will save a ton of money on food.
  11. Check with your surgeon before you begin any exercise. You need to give your body time to heal, otherwise you risk flipping your port.
  12. Everyone is different. That's why you have an adjustable band inside you. If there was some magic number they could fill you up to and you would have perfect restriction, they would do that for everyone.
  13. A lot of lap band surgeons have an information session for the public periodically where they will provide you with all the information you need. I don't know where you live, but its worth looking in to.
  14. Plenty of people manage to lose more than that with the band. The band is a tool and will work as well as you put it too work. I am the same age as you, started off at the same weight as you, and had my surgery three months ago. I have already lost 70 pounds and plan to continue losing a lot more. I am in the gym every day and feel fantastic! Band is the way to go. Most minimally invasive procedure with the least risk of complication. Good luck!
  15. I have something interesting for you to read. Send me a PM me for info.
  16. I just had my band at 24. Wish I would have done it earlier. Go for it!!
  17. Before the fill, I can eat whatever I want. I try not to eat too much though. After the fill, I need to do two days of liquids, and then two days of mushies.
  18. Try starting with the Frequently Asked Questions forum located here. You should find most of your answers there.
  19. I recently had my band at age 25. I struggled with my weight all through my teen years and looking back I wish I would have done this sooner. Feel free to shoot me a PM if you want to talk.
  20. Just curious, do they pay anything for that? It is not something I would usually consider doing but if it was significant and could help me pay off part of my debt from the surgery, I might consider...
  21. Your sweet spot is not a fixed amount of fluid. It is the feeling that comes with it. The amount of fluid needed to achieve that feeling will keep changing as you lose weight.
