  1. I’ve been using one I got from Wal-Mart Body Fortress Whey Protein. I’ve been mixing it with about 1/3 to ½ cup of milk and SF/FF instant pudding (a little over a teaspoon) I’ve also done it with frozen fruit. I got some ready to drink EAS products AdvantEDGE (carb control) and Myaplex (sp) Lite I don’t care too much for these but they work as something to take to work. Tomorrow is my last day of sudo real food Wednesday I start my 2 day clear liquid preop cleanse……
  2. How did you find these Dr's recommendation, referral.....? Have you talked to your primary Dr. about this ask him or her if they have a recommendation. That's how I found my surgeon didn't even think of him but he's the only one my DR. sends people to and he's great I know Firday he will do a good job.
  3. Oh LingLing :welldoneclap: more?:grouphug:
  4. Not quite to that extent but I do try to imagine what it would/will be like not to have a big belly or be flabby in certian areas. I've always been big teh lightest I've been in my adult life was 184 in basic training when I was 18 and one of my instructors still called me fatboy. A few years ago I was down to 220 and felt pretty good about myself and hope to get below that. I think we all get this image once in a while where we see ourselves thin very quickly.
  5. How's your insurance if you have urgent care coverage I'd go today and be sure to let the doc know that you are having surgery and don't want to be sick or it will get canceled. They were very understanding I went Wednesday got antibiotics and was feeling better b Friday today nearl gone. I had sinusitis but it's worth trying for a flu Good Luck.
  6. Yes I had to leave I'm a Yank and was stationed there in the mid 80's just north of Ipswich. I loved your country particulary liked going to London on weekends. I watch a lot of BBC America and see how much has changed since I lived there. I'd love to go back a visit one day.
  7. I'm scared of waking up after surgery and not having the band due to some complication. As many have mentioned failure. Not properly following directions. Equipment failure...... Oh how about this - TAKING CONTROL..... I'm afraid of having the tool to take control of my weight.
  8. Nick, Glad that things are getting better for you WOW what a bad first week. I lived in the UK many years ago, Suffolk County, so when I picture going to Belgium I imagine an over night ferry ride from Fliexstow to Zebrugge....how horrible that would have been. Good argument on choosing local Dr.
  9. I've been bad at responding to those that boldly go before us sorry to everyone for that my thought are with you even if not expressed. You mention 5 minutes for 1 oz of water and 20 for the Jello, was this a hospital/Dr requirement or just your goal? Sounds like a hospital thing one time mine was to potty before they would remove my IV. Gald everyone is getting through this well.
  10. OK count me in. I was 328 (ouch:w00t:) at my surgical consult, didn't do to well dropping until recently lost about 10 during the fall and then we started the 50 Million Pound Challenge a couple months ago. Now due to trying to keep off carbs presurgery I'm not following that but am following a little bit of a couple things and trying to keep the white carbs out. Today I was 295 I wanted to be below 300 before surgery now lets see if I can get down to 290 by next Friday (surgery day). I think the 2 day Clear liquids before surgery and the stuff I have to drink the night before could make that goal a reality.
  11. A lot of us are getting sick right before our surgery tis the season. I don't recall anything from my hospital pre-op that would have caused them to put off my surgery. I had a gallbladder ultrasound, chest x-ray, had to suck on this thing that I'm suppose to take to the hospital with me, blood test, ekg and spoke with a nurse about my meds, history... I was really sick when I went for Cardio and Pluminary clearance and both passed me. Got over that jsut to get sick 2 weeks later 10 days before my surgery...taking antibiotics hoping they knock this out. Good luck take care of yourself and follow the rules of sinus/cold/alergy problems.
  12. YOu could probably find wheat bags at a store like Whole Foods or another natural foods/grocery or online. My former roommate mad me one years ago but the cats love is to much it's gotten a bit hairy and I don't know if it can be washed, guess it wouldn't hurt to try.
  13. JWL08 there's a room for April bandsters in the monthly support groups come on over and say hi to everyone here is the link April 09 Bandsters - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum
  14. Good idea on the sleeping mask for the hospital. I plan to pack light for my overnight stay, MP3 player maybe Nitendo DS, a book, pillow, slippers and lounge pants or sweats (these I plan to ware to the hospital at the hospital and on the way home), pillow, BiPAP machine that I never use, beathing thing respatory gave me. Oh and lip balm that eveyone seems to need.
  15. What's everyone been getting to prepare for first weeks after surgery? I've slowley been getting things together. This weekend was a big one. Pharm - Themometer - Insurance Nurse said she'd ask BP Cuff - Nurse again Heating Pad Gas-X Flintstone Complete Chewable Calcium - Chewable liquid B Complex Liquid Tylenol Groceries Family Size Soup - Cream Chix, Cream Mush, Tomato Protien drinks SF Jello SF Popcicles broth V8 Roast and chicken for my other half to eat on I must be missing something seemed like much more, at least when I paid for it.....lol
  16. Congrats Jerseygirl my surgery is at 7:30am we have to be at the hospital at 5:30am at least I won't have to go till midday fasting. I also have stay over night.
  17. Only problem with that is I have to go back and get my gallbladder out later I hope to do it this year while my out of pocket is taken care of. I told my sup and 2 close friends at work from almost day one my sup is over weight and we discuss this stuff all the time. After my surgery was scheduled I told the other couple of people in my area, and all the people in the cubss next to ours know from overhearing me talk to insurance and the Dr's. The problem is controlling who my other half tells....lol
  18. To start with I decided to go to the weight I was at 9 years ago when I was feeling good about myself, able to get dates and met my other half (220). This is still well over the "ideal" medical weight after I reach that goal I will probably work on going lower the lightest I've been in my adult life is 184 that was when I got out of basic training in 1981. If I ever make that I may consider the "ideal" weight but have learned to make small goals. Right now I want to be below 300 before my surgery in what 12 days. I keep going from 301 to 300 and back to 301 of course the last few days I've had major last meal syndrome.
  19. My surgery is scheduled for April 10th and I too have been dealing with last meal syndrome. I was kind of shocked to step on the scale today and see I still lost a pound. I'm set tomorrrow to start a diet my surgeon gave me during inital consultation I'm going to do that for a week then meal replacements for 2 meals and one low fat low carb meal (I hope). Then to clear liquids Wed and Thur before my surgery on Friday 4/10. Good luck guys:thumbup:
  20. Well good news goat a call today from the cardiologist office my stress test was normal and they are sending clearance to the surgeon. Looks like I'm on track for 4/10:thumbup:
  21. We have the same date provided I get my final clearance from Cardio waitig for results of a stress test.
  22. Good luck to my coBandster sdeale0928 see you on the other side.
  23. Hopefully I got over the last hurdle my surgery is scheduled for April 10th but the cardiologist wouldn't signoff till I had a stress test. I completed teh stress test yesterday but don't know the results. He didn't think it would be an issue but because of previous issues wanted to be sure. :cursing: I guess all these clearances keep us busy while we wait for surgery day. Still trying to work on getting a few more pounds off and trying to get moving more before surgery. Two weeks and a day to go.
  24. I had the same problem last week and was concerned about my surgery getting cancled even though it's a little further away than yours. I went to my pcp got an anitbiotic and some alergy relief meds knowcked it right out. Good luck and hop you feel better
