Surgery w/head congestion??

I've been sick with a bad cold for the last week (literally seven days). While it's gotten better, I am still very congested (head congestion). Im having a hard time breathing through my nose. Im taking mucinex extended release now to get rid of the congestion. Im getting nervous that I wont be rid of it by my surgery date next Thursday. It's only a week away. Will they put me under with all this head congestion? Of course, it's a very good possiblity I'll be totally over it by then, but I must say Im very anxious to get rid of it.

I had the same problem last week and was concerned about my surgery getting cancled even though it's a little further away than yours. I went to my pcp got an anitbiotic and some alergy relief meds knowcked it right out. Good luck and hop you feel better

No they will not put you under. They weren't even going to put me under cuz I had a slight temp of 99.7! They made me wait until it went down and thankfully it did. I really hope you get rid of all that congestion and start feeling better before your surgery gets here! Best of luck to you Hun!!

That's what I thought. I may have to call my doc and see if she'll call something in. I would hate to have to go in after all these pre-op visits. Im sick of the co-pays. It's worth it though, if I dont get relief by tomorrow I'll go in on Friday.

Have your doctor give you a good nose spray (nasonex is great) to get rid of your stuffy nose. You will feel like crap after your surgery and you don't need anything else to make you feel that way.
