I'm telling global climate is running amok, because here in sunny cali we are in severe draught mode too. There is not in enough snow in the Sierra.

Today: 4% incline on treadmill 3.53 miles jogging and power walking mix for 60-minutes. I am trying to get to 4 miles in 60 minutes on a 4% incline by the end of next month.:biggrin:

It is concerning when medical professionals laugh at patients who have serious medical issues. I know it is frustrating and you have come so far, but can you change your PC doctor? Is there a doctor available in your area who is more accepting of WLS and would send the referral out?

Ask your doctor if you can use small hand weights 1-pound each with your walk. And ask your doctor if you can use small hand weights for upper arm workouts. You can sit in a chair and do arm curls with very light weights. Although these activities probably pale in comparison to what you were previously doing, it gives you a sense that your staying fit while recovering. It doesn't hurt to ask your doctor.

Hello Ahmed and welcome LBT! Your symptoms sound normal to me. I actually felt the same way too! I felt better by day 7-post op. You will get there too! Remember to keep your Fluid intake going and keep walking. Both will help you with your recovery. Good luck!

Wow, I have not heard of this before. What did your doctor say? You did speak to your doctor, right?

My doctor gave me the pros and cons with all the WLS. I was good candidate for anyone of them, but I elected banding and my doctor supported my decision. I personally, never felt pressure to select one prcoedure over another. Now, I must take exception of "46" being old! Give me a break. Did you not know being in your forties is now really your thirties? This surgery as all surgeries have risks associated to them and could possibly cause harm. But I believe more people have benefited from banding than have been harmed by the procedure. Do your research and look at data reports pertaining to harm/risks of WLS. JAMA somtimes has free journal studies pertaining to bariatric surgery. JAMA -- Search Result

Today: Rest day, back at it tomorrow. Well, I did dust off the yoga DVD, now I just need to pop it and work it.

I think there are a set of twins, but for the most part they are single births. But how on earth to they remember all those names?

Too funny! What about that one family that has 18 kids now. I think they are the Duggans or something on TLC. Mom states she will just keep having kids. Nice family though!

My spleen was nicked, cause it to bleed during surgery. All is well now. I exercise 5X a week. I am losing weight like crazy and inches. I have lots of energy! I work full-time. And I am finishing my thesis so I can get my MPA diploma. All is well with me.

We do not do fast food at my house. We never did before the band either. However, there are times when I go out to dinner with family and friends. I have gone to high tea and not had a problem. I have ate chinese food at the local restaurant without a problem. I have had sushi at the Japanese pub by our house with no problem. I just eat very small portions and chew very well.

I stayed 2.5 days, because of complications. The expected me to recover, give blood every 3 hours with vitals, and to walk. Lots of walking.

I have gone to restaurants with family, friends and co-workers, since being banded and it is true I do get full rather quickly. But my enjoyment is not centered on the food, rather with the company and conversation that is occuring. Your husband can always take left overs home from the restaurant or perhaps you can share an entree. As far as food. Each banded person is different as to what their band allows them to eat. Personally, so far, I can eat any food type. So when I do have lunch or supper at a restaurant, I can eat anything off the menu. Does this mean that I do, no. I just eat in moderation and I have very small portions of my favorite foods. Good luck!

Gloucester, your post cracks me up. A food pusher granny. I agree that you are the mom and thus are in control of raising your child. However, I don't think screaming at someone on the answer machine is the best approach to resolving conflict. I think hostility only creates miscommunication. I really do understand your frustration and believe you are 100% right in being upset in regards to this matter. Can you speak to your mom in person? My mom drives me nuts too! There are times when I can easily go off on her. But then I remember there are many people living without their moms. And then I think, my mom is in her middle sixties and not in the best of health. Moms don't last forever, so try to resolve the conflict and appreciate your mom, while you have her.

I have never heard of them taking out the gallstones, but rather taking the whole gallbladder??? I had my gallbladder reomved 10-years before I was banded. They did three small incisions on my tummy. I have read on this forum that doctors do both procedures at the same time. I have also read other threads where doctors perform the procedures at different times.

I like this show! Jon and Kate work hard to support their kids. They keep it real and tell it like it is. Besides, Kate is real brash. She is brutally organized and discipline flourishes throughout the house. Frugal too! Yes, they do use the media to help support their family. But it just seems different with this family. I mean they were not living with their mom and dad, when the decied to have another child, but ended up with 6-more. They were both working when they had the twins and when she became preggers with the 6. I just get the sense that the mom of the Octuplets did this for more than just the love of having kids. :-(
