  1. I guess now you can add Billy Mays, age 50 to the list of people that have died this week! Damn
  2. Yeah the ones in the Avon catalogue are the same...infact I think they came out before the Sketchers Brand did...I think I may order me some lol
  3. Lol I was thinking the same thing Carrie
  4. Way to go for taking this step! I hope it works out for you. I'm always around if you need to talk or vent :smile2:
  5. Hey I just came across your thread and wanted to say congrats and way to go for taking this step! How did it go? Hope all is well!!!
  6. Way to go...big high 5 your way . We all forget to eat slowly and chew every once in a while. I think you made the right choice with the pork chop instead of the salad though. Keep up the good work!!!
  7. It sounds like you just strained it. The port is attached to the muscles so anytime you use them you may get sore, especially right out of surgery. As long as there isn't pus or a fever; infection isn't too likely, but if you continue to have problems don't hesitate to call your surgeon...after all that's why they get paid the big bucks  lol
  8. Sounds more like with all the coughing and swelling that goes on you probably had swelling by your band causing it to feel tighter. I have asthma and sometimes after an attack I feel tighter...sometimes I'm just sore and my port hurts. Ask your surgeon to be sure, but it just sounds like swelling from the attack to me. Good luck!
  9. Way to go and congrats! This was a big step, but it is so so worth it! Be proud for taking this step . I hope things go well for you!!! Good luck again
  10. At this point after surgery you really just want your body to heal so don't be too quick to move on to mushies or solids...You can do damage to the band if you move to fast. Also, Eat slow and chew chew chew! If you're eating with a fork or spoon put it down after each bite. It feels like being full without the band, but it happens quicker and if you take one more bite it could start hurting and you'll feel a lot of pressure. Try to follow your post op diet as best you can until instructed to move on. Congrats on the band and good luck!!!
  11. I have not had any of these problems, but if it was me I would be looking for another surgeon for a second opinion (at the very least). I don't think I would trust the first surgeon anymore, but that's just me! If you are comfortable with your surgeon and the work he has done then by all means keep going to see him, but there are other surgeons out there...maybe the problems will stop...? Good luck!!!
  12. I would have to say a combo of all of them. You have to work with the band, which means chosing healthy, filling foods when possible and not drinking too soon after eating. You need to excercise because it helps burn thos calories that you take in causing faster weightloss. Also you need that support group for the times you need a kick in the butt or kind words to get you back into gear. For me I set a lot of little goals because I feel proud and accomplished with everyone I meet; walk to the mail without getting tired, fit a regular BP cuff, lose 5 pounds/10/15
  13. I've seen those...they are kind of ugly, but I want some so badly lol. I may have to go check them out  I'd rather look goofy and thin than stylish and fat lol
  14. I do not have sleep apnea. I do have hypothyroidism. I also have a clotting disorder. Right before my surgery I was given a shot of Heparin in my thigh. I didn't have any clotting problems and the surgery went great. A lot of problems like sleep apnea and high cholesterol get better and sometimes go away with weight loss! Those may make it easier to get approved for this surgery! Good luck and I hope things work out okay for you
  15. My surgeon doesn't have a no straw rule...infact everything I drink is through a straw. The water they offered me after surgery was through a straw lol. I don't see that problem with crystal light (maybe slightly with the teas), but you could try the propel ones or lemonades...I wish I could be of more help lol. Good luck!
  16. You can only help your friend if she wants help. Try going for walks together...Try walking at the mall or just Target first (that way it doesn't seem so much like work :smile2:). Pick up a hobby together, like a book club, or crocheting. She does need to lay off the soda though. If you feel you have to have food at a function make it a healthy food...veggies and ranch dip or lowfat cheese on crackers (but keep the amounts available low). I hope this helps...even if just a little
  17. It's not that we trash religious folks...just the ones that try to force feed us their beliefs and then don't really follow what they are preachin
  18. Lol at Fake bible thumpers! My hubby and I call them "Jesus Doers" (like evil doers lol) sounds kina dirty, but funny to us!
  19. Thank you for respecting that thread  I do respect you for doing that and for just starting your own. I am sorry if I was a bit crazed and snippy in the beginning. I am going through a lot right now and just let other things in my life put anger and what not into my previous posts...sorry!
  20. Very true Patty, unfortunately not for the crime we were discussing, but he is in prision.
  21. ...............................................
  22. To some point I agree with your post. It sucks that all of a sudden people who probably talked badly about him are now oh I loved him he was great...As for me I have always been the way I am now. I'm not going to go as far as saying I loved him, but I loved (still love) his music and his videos. Everyone handles abuse (physical, sexual, emotional) differently...some take the wrong road. I understand that not everyone enjoyed his music, but a lot of people did. Also, a lot of people choose to believe/trust that he was a good person and never hurt any kids...and some don't which is fine. Whether you liked him or not...you'll probably remember him.
  23. O ok. I'll have to call and ask my surgeon. I was just following the instructions on the bottle ( 1/2 for kids under 12 and 1 for over and adults) hmmm...Maybe I'll call her monday just to be sure. Thanks
  24. I got 2 EAS shakes a day and a low cal. lean frozen meal at night...it was the longest week of my life lol
  25. Wow...All I am doing is responding to you posts. If that comes across as me trying to be the center of everything that is not my intention and I'm sorry.
