What's up with this?
When you chew lettuce in a salad it doesn't really break it up, instead it bruises it and mushes it into a ball. So when you swallow it a lot of time it will open up and just lay over your pouch! When you do have salad go for really crunchy leaves like romaine instead or spinach and softer greens!

Fill me in
Also, (I know this is late) remember that in your job you see the worst! You're not seeing all the healthy kids that are born because they don't need you! I am the mother of a Special needs and disabled 2 year old boy. I am now pregnant again and I am terrified! I just had a miscarrige in May at 5 weeks and now I am 6 weeks pregnant. I have had my band for almost a year now. The band hasn't been shown to cause any problems. After all it doesn't change how you absorb vitamins and what not!

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
That's easier said then done. Our special needs/disabled 2 year old son just had brain surgery and we're packing to move. I'm trying to take it easy as much as possible...

worried my band could be stretched
I agree...but they asked for our opinions so that's what we were giving them...

worried my band could be stretched
Mine tells her patients to stay away from bread, pasta, and rice, but if I really need to have bread to make sure that it is toasted. However, I need to eat my protein and veggies/fruit first.

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
I wouldn't wish for someone to go through what we have gone through...I just couldn't imagine saying that I would want to be pregnant even if I m/c just to feel it...that doesn't seem right. I have been through a lot at my age and no one wants to go through this...no matter what!

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
I didn't worry and put my first pregnancy in "God's" hands and he gave me a disabled and special needs son. There were no reasons for the majority of my son's problems.

Banded 05/01/09, conceived 05/31/09
I was always told that if you're over weight when you become pregnant that it is okay to lose during the pregnancy as long as the baby is getting what he/she needs!

Pregnancy After Miscarraige
I had my first m/c on May 13th. I just found out that I am pregnant again. They drew my HCG levels 3 times and these were my levels: Friday: 32 (4pm draw) Monday: 55 (9am draw) Thursday: 155 (9am draw) I am so scared that I am going to m/c again. My levels look low, but they seem to be going up. I haven't seen an OB yet, but this is going to be a pretty high risk pregnancy. Has anyone else had low levels like this and been okay? Has anyone else been pregnant after a m/c.? I am so terrified that I am going to mc again or have another special needs/disable baby like my son. I am 23 and I have a 2 year old son. He just had brain surgery on the 15th so I am under a lot of stress...I find myself crying a lot and my stomach hurts...Any advice about any of this lol :wink2: TIA

Pregnant BEFORE lap-band??
I am going to say are you serious to this last statement. (lol) I know this post is old, but how did you think they put a band around your stomach and a port onto you abdominal muscle? Did you do research before considering surgery or did you just jump in with both feet? I'm not trying to be mean, but I researched the band for a good 4 years before I had it done....Anyways, I hope your pregnancy went (is going) well and that someday when you are ready and know what you're in for you are able to make the choice to get the band or not! Good luck with everything!

Banded 05/01/09, conceived 05/31/09
I was told before I had my band that losing weight while pregnant is okay. As long as you aren't going to extreme to lose it. As long as you and the baby are healthy losing is just fine! My doctor told me to wait at least a year after banding to try to get preggo! Some say even a year! I agree that you probably shouldn't have been trying or you shouldn't have gotten banded until you got preggo and had a baby, but it's done and I'm sure you're excited!

7 weeks pregnant
I got a fill before I found out I was pregnant and now when I eat my stomach hurts! It feels like a lot of pressure and I can feel it kind of sloshing around and it grumbles. Am I too tight? Should I get an unfill? It sucks!

I don't care: A Michael Jackson Rant
That's good...I think it's better to move on and stop dwelling on The Jackson's in the news...I was a fan of MJ, but I am tired of all this coverage. My son is home now Yay...I'm ready to sleep in my own bed...not a hospital chair...or a famous weird guys "special" bed lol  (For you guys)

worried my band could be stretched
As I said before my surgeon said they don't recommend fills if you are going against the guidelines (eating bread/pasta/rice, eating liquid calories, ect) so I would say cut out the bread and stuff first then get a fill. If you get a fill and continue to eat bread it could lead to band slippage or pouch stretching...just becareful and try to follow the rules of bands Good luck!

I hear ya! It sucks to see him hurting and stuff especially since he doesn't really understand what's going on or what happened! It breaks my heart!!!

I don't care: A Michael Jackson Rant
If I didn't come here and read things and post crazyness I'm pretty sure I would go crazy! That's why when PG called me pathetic I said that she knew what I was going through how could she as a "christian" woman kick me like that when I was down. Some people lol. Anyways, Jack is doing pretty well. Still in a lot of pain. They took his catheter out and his Artery line. They took him off IV fluids and are going to try a normal formula feed all day. We'll see. Kinda highjacked the thread didn't I lol

I don't hate you Glo You can hate whomever you want...even me  Everyone is intitled to your opinion! I also hate it when people thump the Bible on my head! My hubby and I call people like that Jesus Doers (Like Evil Doers) lol...I am off to the hospital for my son's surgery, but I'll try to check in later if he's doin well!!!

worried my band could be stretched
I can chug water with no problem because it just slides right through the band. Bread is a no no with the band. Also stress can cause you to get tighter!
-
worried my band could be stretched
If you aren't eating right then you need to not get a fill! If you get a fill and still eat like you were preband then a fill is just going to cause you problems!
