  1. I was ok alone. I didn't actually start feeling bad until day 5.
  2. I did a glance through once, I couldn't go back. I also can't watch the view.
  3. Way to go on the weight loss! :thumbup:That is so awesome. You now have a great head start for tomorrow! I am glad that I could help even if only a little.
  4. You are obviously very self aware. Maybe now, while in the process of losing the weight for good, is the time to seek help with whatever you know your issues to be. That way you can deal with this now, rather than risk becoming someone that you don't want to be later. Good luck with whatever your decide to do!
  5. 1st. You are not gross. Don't let her jealousy get to you. That is what it is. She sees that you are making a change in your life for the better, and she is still languishing where she is. You are not weird, gross, or any other crazy thing that woman can come up with. When you go back to work with your healthier body, she is going to be even more jealous so be ready. 2nd. No one but another bandster (or other WLS) is going to really understand the pre-op diet. So even if they make fun of it, so what? You are doing this for you. You are going to do so awesome tomorrow! Don't let the knuckleheads ruin your time to shine!
  6. Posting just to post it's Wednesday! Almost on the other side of the hump!
  7. Thank you. I have used that word for years, but was never sure if it was real.
  8. Posting just to post that I am floating trying to get in all of this water. I can hear the sloshing (is that a real word) in my belly.
  9. I'm not sure. My doctor said to resume sex whenever I felt comfortable.
  10. Try them all slowly, maybe you can still eat most of them.
  11. If you like mushrooms and can get them down, I made a pizza crust out of a large portabello mushroom cap. It satisfied my pizza craving. I also made pizza using whole wheat pita bread. It came out crispy (just shy of cracker like), and my son actually liked this one.
  12. Walk, walk walk... I know that doesn't sound like it would help, but I promise after I started walking, you can feel the gas moving. I then started burping up some of the air. Walking is the ONLY thing that helped me with the gas.
  13. I have seen it on this site and others that the body only absorbs about 20 g of protein at a time. I haven't asked my nutritionist about it, but I have read it several places.
  14. I have wondered if that was what was going on with me.
  15. I agree with most of the other posters, at the surgery center, they are ONLY doing surgery. They don't have sick people and the germs that come with them. I have heard that it is a lot healthier (germ wise) to have your surgery done there rather than the hospital. Only you can make up your mind, but I would go for it with the surgery center. If the doctor was having trouble with patient care at the hospital, then I would trust his judgement. You were trusting him to cut you open, why not trust that he has your best interests at heart with the change in venue. Good luck with whatever you decide.
  16. Ok, since it won't let me delete this thread, I will simply say nevermind. I just got the call back from my doctor. Thanks!
  17. Hello everyone. I am at the end of week three post op. I just accidentally scratched off a piece of the glue on one of my smaller incisions. It is not completely closed and started to bleed some. I have a call in to the doctor, but do you think I should put a bandage or something on it? I am not sure how long it will take the doctor's office to call back. Thanks for any replies.
  18. I would ask how many lap band surgeries the doctor has done. What his complication rates are. Ask if they have emergeny hours for patients (for unfills if too tight). Those are a couple of questions that I would have asked. Thankfully my doctor is very experienced, has low complication rates, and has emergency hours (although they cost extra). I am sure that there are other more important questions that I haven't thought of at the moment. Good luck to you!
  19. I am sure that there are going to be people that don't agree with me, but gas x strips did nothing for me. I did the strips, the pills, and also another brand's extra strength gas medicine. None of that worked. The only thing that worked was walking, walking, walking.
  20. Thanks for saying that. I was starting to wonder if I should be scared.
  21. I haven't had my TOM since banding. I am due next week, just like you. I am also due for my fill next week, just like you. I can only hope that neither of us have trouble! I guess we both had better take it slow to avoid sliming or PBing.
  22. Sorry, I am still going to reply. Just to say that I am glad that you found the information that you needed. Good luck on your journey!
  23. My doc says 60g-70g of protein a day. By the way SNT, I know I won't remember to say anything on Thursday, so be blessed. You are going to do great!
  24. It really goes to show how different doctors are. My doctor's office listed yogurt and custard as full liquid. Check with your doctor's office for his instructions.
  25. Kaytiebugs, if your doctor or hospital is requiring the deductible be paid up front, have you tried Care Credit? I was able to be approved through them to pay my doctor's program fee ($1300) and they offer 18 months no interest. I don't have the best credit, so maybe you can get approved through them? I just went to carecredit.com. I hope everything works out for you.
