  1. Would you swoon just a little for me? I haven't swooned in years. *sigh*
  2. I had to have a talk with my mom about calling me about food. She loves to just call and tell me what she ate today or what she is thinking about eating. I explained that if she is going to talk to me, we are have to have real conversation and not talk about food all of the time. She said that I should just get used to talking about food. I told her that I have to decide that food is not my life anymore. She doesn't get it yet. Go to user cp. On the left hand side you will see an avatar option. It will let you either choose one of their avatars, or choose a picture from you computer.
  3. Hi. I am 4 weeks out, and my calorie intake ranges from bout 900-1300 calories a day. I noticed that when I kept my calorie intake really low, my weight would not move. When I started changing it from day to day, the scale finally moved. That may just be coincidence.
  4. I totally understand how you feel. Like Donna said, until we get good restriction, the band is just there. I had my first fill yesterday, and I am just as hungry today as I was before the fill. I can only hope that I get a little more restricted as the days go on (I am not holding out any hope). Just try to make good choices so that you don't undo the good work you have done so far. We will get out of this hell soon (I hope).
  5. Debbie, I survived. I was starving by lunch time. I drank maybe a quarter to half cup of tomato soup. I was stuffed. Not an hour later, my stomach was grumbling. I Thankfully, my paperwork said that I could move up to the soft stage as soon as I could tolerate it. I ate soup with soft cooked veggies. That went down very well. I took my time (almost an hour for 1/2 cup). I feel good right now. I guess the question is going to be how long will I stay full?
  6. Debbie, I guess this was the one place that we were not the same. I haven't had real trouble. During the liquid stage, my IBS was there with me the entire time. As a matter of fact, it is still there. The only time I had trouble was when I took the high powered pain killers. I wish that I could give you all some of my "relief". I have had a little too much "relief" lately. I hope that you all find a solution soon!
  7. Way to go!!! Not even a little sympathy? Holy smokes!
  8. Wait... It's Friday? Why does it feel like Monday to me?
  9. My goodness Teri, you are doing so good! I haven't tried step aerobics. Heck, I haven't tried anything other than walking. Your fill date will be here before you know it! Keep up the awesome job! That really depends on so much. It can be as little as a few weeks to several months. It really depends on your insurance companies requirements for approval. Then once you have approval, it really depends on your surgeons schedule. It took me personally, a little under 3 months from seminar to surgery. I had my seminar on 07/05 and had surgery 09/25. Good luck to you on your journey1
  10. I'm glad that you got some relief Nay. I hope that you continue to feel better.
  11. PJTP-drive by post from work!!
  12. Debbie, I made it through about half of my cup of jello. It has taken me this long to eat it. I was too scared to eat any faster. Of course, eating with a baby spoon makes it slow going anyway. I guess the true test will be on some real food. I cringe at the thought of eating.
  13. Donna, I love that! ROFLMAO!
  14. I think you are doing the only real thing that can be done by being seen tomorrow. I wish you the best.
  15. You are no coward! I think of how brave you were to take control of you health. We did do good! I will swish, squish, or whatever on the jello. I am starving, so I had better try something. I will let you know how it goes.
  16. That makes me feel so much better. I talked about you too! How funny is that? I saw my huge stomach, but they didn't put a lot of fill in. They won't tell me how much, which is why I tried to look. The doctor actually came in while I was getting my fill and asked how I was. He doesn't talk much. I had barium lips too! My barium was actually strawberry flavored. I have had two sugar free popsicles since I had it done. I also drank about 20oz of sf kool-aid. I had to go watch my son play soccer (I am officially a soccer mom). I have some sf jello, but I am scared to eat it. If you ate yours, then I am going to try my jello, too! I am so glad that we were able to have this done the same day!
  17. I am officially 4 weeks out today. I had my first fill this afternoon. It wasn't bad at all. They had me lay down on the table while the nurse put in saline (she blocked the needle so I have no idea how much). Then she had me stand up in front of the fluro machine (with the needle sticking out of my belly). She had me start to drink the barium while she filled. She made sure I didn't feel any pain with the liquid, then I drank water. It went down. She removed the needle (that felt odd) and sent me on my merry way. I have to stay on clear liquids until tomorrow, then full liquids, and then mushies. They told me to just take it slow. Good luck everyone!
  18. My doctor basically said the same thing. He used an M&M as his example. I haven't had problems with any pills so far. I have to take pills everyday.
  19. That pain in your shoulder was gas. I know I didn't get that pain until I was 5 days post op. It can be bad, but honestly walking around and moving the shoulder helped to move it for me. No medicine would ever touch it (gas or pain medicine). I am glad that you are feeling better.
  20. Hey Debbie. I just thought I would stop to say that I went for my fill. It wasn't bad at all. They did my fill under fluro. I have no idea how much they put in. I was not able to look at the needle that the nurse was using so that maybe I could see how much was going in. They made me stand up with the needle in my belly so that I could drink the barium then water. I was able to get every thing down fine. I am on clear liquids until tomorrow. Then full liquids for 1 day, then mushies, and then back to regular food on Sunday if I can tolerate it. I hope that your fill was just as uneventful!
  21. Thanks for the info mommie_ of_4!
  22. You are doing so well with your weight loss! I am glad that your fill went well. I have my first fill tomorrow. Supposedly, my doctor won't tell me how much they put in though. I guess I will see tomorrow. Keep up the good work!
  23. Bandster hell is just that, HELL! I am so there. I can at least eat real food, but the last few days I have felt like I was restricted even though I have no fill. We will survive. Just think of the weight loss later on. Let that be your motivation. :-p
  24. It does require a lot of physical work. I don't know if I can post from work. They block some of the silliest things. We have internet access, so I am just going to try to log in here and see. I will miss you guys during the day if I can't. I will have to do drive by posts at lunch time and after work. *sigh*
